the +100% Persuasion option is pretty much always better
Yeah I always go with that anyway, but the same or better in every single way? It seems a stupid choice.
It increases duration instead of damage. With Nemesis there are a few cases where you can kill an enemy in one less Warp or Shockwave because even with Heavy Warp things tend to survive with a sliver on lower difficulties.
Of course this is outweighed by having your Singularity last forever and all the other bonuses.
Why would your singularity need to last that long?
It's either gonna disappear cause some enemy within range still has a defense up or it's gonna disappear once you warp bomb.
On the whole "why does character x have power y?" debate..it only really bothered me with Wrex.
Why is he a biotic? He never discusses it, but as far as I know, he's the only Krogan with biotic abilities we ever see. So are biotics supposed to be rare amongst them? Shouldn't it then be kind of a big deal that Wrex has them?
If I didn't already think the Avenger was a stupid piece of junk, they sell one for a few hundred dollars that doesn't even compact itself? I don't want to hate the gun, Bioware just makes it too easy!

He's a battlemaster. Those rare krogans have biotics.
You get to fight a few of them in various places in ME1 and ME2.
You couldn't even use that to enhance a Halloween or con costume - it weighs 20 lbs!
It's purty and all, but for that kind of money I'd be more likely to buy something from Abbyshot - I like items that are both nerdy & nominally useful.
I like the bit where you can't order it internationally because Customs might confiscate it.
Don't ask me why, but it seemed like Garrus was unconscious more often than Tali in ME1, and Tali's the frickin' engineer.
I found you had to dump points into Garrus' electronics skill (since that increased max shields) then put a health regenerate into his armor slot.
EDIT: Also, I played ME3 at the NYCC. When you develop powers, you get some good options. Garrus gets all the skills from ME2 + a new one called proximity mine. When you dump points into powers, you get to evolve them differently. For example, AP ammo (for Garrus) begins with a damage boost, then another one, then the option to add more damage OR add squad damage. Warp starts off with only damage boost options but then you can choose to decrease recharge, increase radius, etc.

I've never chosen based on the 70/100% option and I've also never... I mean, never, ever, not even once - lost the ability to use my charm/intimidate option on a normal playthrough. Granted it wasn't a problem in ME1 either, maxing as you go, although I always ended up having to delay Feros for that one check close to the end. Morinth-rush was the only time it caused a problem, and a brief switch to the 100% was enough. (I think for that one I'd also not even maxed
I would ask why you would ever take Bastion over Nemesis. If one of my powers reaches its full duration then I've wasted it anyways.
That fight becomes about a thousand times easier if you bum-rush for the crate cover, away from the platform. As long as you keep an eye on the Krogan and disable him when he charges, you should be fine.

The problem is he can get back up WAY sooner then your ability to push him down will recharge. At low levels anyway.
Which was really a huge problem with ME1 anyway. Really awful power scaling.

BUT ITS A REPLICA!
Interested, 650 is a bit much for that though. I still feel bad about buying one of those 100 dollar lightsabers.
The stuff on that Abbyshot site looked interesting. Though I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me a few seconds to figure out what the hell a CAD was.

I could see 650 if it functioned like the one in-game, in that it "folded" down to be compact, you know for the backpack carrying and stuff.
Also if it did something. Even if it was just shooting nerf arrows.
That elevator krogan definitely has 'that one boss' status. So does the armature earlier on if you don't exploit the Mako. Thing can kill you before you even GET to cover. In short, Liara's mission at low level is very much 'that one level' in my opinion.
Another example of a bad fight is if you pick a fight with the krogan in one of the sidequests on the citadel at low level. The one where you're trying to get c-sec to stop having a civilian risk her life doing their job for them.
Why can't they just name these encounters so we know what we're in for. Like, name the planet you go to "quickman".

Especially when you run it on Insanity with Garrus in your party. That was a fucking mistake and a half.
I don't always ragequit, but when I do, it was probably there.
Nice, it was just announced on the Mass Effect Facebook page that there'll be a ME 3 demo in January which will include both singleplayer and multiplayer.
I dunno if I want to play a demo when the main game will be released 2-3 months later...gonna be a hard choice.
I will because obviously BW will reward players that have beaten the demo with all their Shepards with some sort of in-game bonus when the retail version is launched.
Otherwise the fanbase will be very cross with them.

Nemesis nets you some sweet extra damage.
Why? It's not like it's hard to get enough points to pass checks.
So I always choose the one that increases those by most, whatever class I'm playing.

Really? Huh, never noticed them.
Try doing Liara's recruitment mission at level 8 on insanity as an adept.
THEN you notice them.
Fuckin' a.
Got really familiar with that elevator, though.

Lift as soon as Krogan charges you.
Run like hell so Geth don't kill you.

soldier: no preference
adept: nemesis
infiltrator: assassin
vanguard: champion
sentinel: guardian
engineer: demolisher
so it's about an even split for me.
It's mostly because of the par/ren boosts but I generally like having powers last longer than having them hit hard.
Adept I can go either way with though.

I'll be old then.

If not I'll probably just try out the multiplayer side and leave single player alone.
