It has nothing to do with games, but dammit people Twin Peaks Gold Box is the Amazon Deal of the Day for $35, which is a goddamn steal.
go buy it and then go buy Deadly Premonition or Alan Wake, and bam, now it's game related and you'll enjoy both games a little more.
Wow, that's tempting. I've been really thinking about finally watching Twin Peaks but knowing it ends on a cliffhanger has always driven me away from it.
Yeah - the very, very end is infuriating. But the one, main, stronger story has a good and proper ending halfway through Season 2. It's absolutely worth it, as the last episode ever, dispite the huge cliffhanger, is just so awesome otherwise.
If you have Netflix streaming, all of Twin Peaks is on instant view, including the pilot
Because that's like the only thing they have for streaming (and I lost interest after the main story point got revealed halfway into season 2, one day I should probably finish it...).
On topic: What are the chances DNF will be on sale again do you think? High? I think High.
"For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men. Not women. Not beasts...this you can trust."
It's coming out earlier on consoles. You don't get to complain.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'ts ok. I don't mind. Most of my gaming life will be so obsorbed in Skyrim for that month anyway, i'll need a few weeks before something else comes out...But really, a NEW ASSCREED for, well for me, 25 bucks cheaper! I'm sold. (typical console gamer). Especially considering November is wallet rape this year anyway.
Is ACR Steamworks, or would it be through Amazon's download system? Anyone have any experience with the latter?
ACR, being Ubisoft, more than likely won't be Steamworks. 1, 2 and AssBro weren't. They used the proprietary UPlay system. As far as Amazon's download system, I'm sorry, I can't help. All the games I've bought (til now) have been Steamworks titles.

Yeah, same here. Bought plenty of download games from Amazon -- just never used their service. I don't want to miss out on this deal, but I also want to make sure Amazon's service isn't retarded before I grab it.
Oh, who am I kidding? It's ACR for $35!

I've bought a few digital games on sale from Amazon(non-Steam), and unless they've changed something, you don't even have to install a download manager from them to download it. I was always able to just download the game straight up. They don't have a client you have to launch the game from, either.
Can that bf3 order from Amazon be registered on Origin? no Amazon downloads service for the UK so I'm thinking get someone in the USA to but it and send me the key. I'm just musing though, not really on edge over the deal.

Ah, that's good to know. I assume I can redownload at any time?

Lat time i checked they keep it for as long as you keep your account active + 2 years. So, 2 years after you account goes inactive, you will no longer be able to download it. Should be good enough.

Yeah, that sounds fine to me. I am Amazon's biggest bitch, so I'm in no danger of my account going inactive. Thanks for the info, guys.

BF3 requires Origin so I'm going to go with 'yes'.
On October 25th, Amazon will send you the serial through e-mail that you type into Origin to unlock Battlefield 3.
It's not required to download the game from them. You'll download the game files from Origin just like how it works on Steam.
In fact they're taking a 30% hit on the MSRP just to sell the code, not ship any actual product and secretly hoping people won't download the game from them hence using their bandwidth.
If you buy a game that isn't tied to a digital download service (i.e. might and magic heroes 6), how do you go about getting said game, and get it in the future if needed?
EDIT: Or shit, Amazon too I suppose. It's got it much cheaper.

Amazon lets you download it until your modem is blue in the face.
Amazon has their own little dinky downloader too. I just fired it up for the first time and it just starts downloading to wherever the hell they decided to, I'm assuming the god forsaken User folder somewhere. It doesn't tell you shit. And the help on their website is a lie: "Users\Public\Documents\Amazon Games & Software" my ass. Oh, guess I have a Mac and didn't know it. Folder is on the desktop.

A couple pages ago the Arkham City at K-Mart deal was posted ($30 coupon when you buy the game). Is there anywhere that's listed on the site? I'm having trouble finding it, and I'm hoping it will work online.
Edit: found the CAG thread, but not much about whether it works online. Ah well.

It does, Kaseius. Thanks. In-store only. I'll have to see if I can make it to the other K-Mart. 20 miles isn't so bad for half off my next game, right? :P
Oh shit what. Could one of you fine americans order it for me and I'll paypal you the funds in return. Actually, since its not on the UK steam store, would I even be able to add it?
It was $12 3 days ago, too. I'm not sure why they say it's a daily now. Unless it was a mistake then... and I went to resume my download from three days ago and an "error" occurred and I had to re-download their stupid downloader to get it to work...

How's the SP on ACB? I know the big deal was that it had MP, but is there enough SP to be interesting?
The SP is just as big as Assassin's Creed 2. It also didn't evolve much from AC2, if you ask me. So it's good, but nothing close to the leap from AC1 to 2.

Marketing failure. It wasn't a multi-player focused game. The single-player game is just as big as any of the others, and includes a multi-player mode that no one plays any more, just like most games these days.

AND ACR?! Thank you, man. Seriously. PC was my preferred system for this.
Edit: This is the worst totp ever, so I'm going to do something for charity.
