Wow that game looks spectacularly bad, no wonder it was never released. Still I feel compelled to watch the badly animated fatalities :rotate:

In DBZ Hyper Dimension or whatever, you could do a, what they called "Desperation move" which was basically a fatality but you did it when you were inches from death.

Goku did tons of crazy crap, beat your opponent up, went SS3 and then created a giant spirit bomb.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4VYpg9eBEo

Go to that video and skip to 3:13 and watch Goku fight Buu or whatever his name is. That's the move.

Pretty cool video too, I remember playing that game a ton.
I still think that may be the greatest DBZ game, in terms of gameplay quality.

I remember Vegeta's special move being crazy hard to pull off.
Oh yeah, terribly awesome fighting game and yeah, I never could do one of Vegeta's big moves.

Which made me sad because he was my favorite, but I was awful with him.

I, too, had to watch them all. Good god, that game looks horrible. Like, up there with Way of the Warrior and Wargods. Sheesh. Reading some of the comments, it looks like it was supposed to come out *before* MK? Just think of how history might be changed by that...

Man, even though I played the ever-loving shit out of it on the N64, KI2 never clicked with me. I think it's because they changed almost all the charge moves into sweep moves, which threw off my timing. Hence why I could only play as TJ Combo.

Plus they took out Cinder, and I loved Cinder.

Even though I never played that game, and it looks terrible, it brings back loads of nostalgia for me. I remember going to the arcades and playing hundreds of games like that.

There was this one fighting game for the 3DO... supreme warrior I think... I always wanted to play it. I should buy it now that I have a 3DO.

    That cheap bastard. :P

Thankfully, they kept Fulgore in. I'm awesome with Fulgore in KI Gold.

My main character was always Orchid. I could do monster and killer combos with her in KI1 easily. Then they changed all her moves, specifically the combo initiator (the spinning kick) from hold B, f+K to B, B+D, D, D+F, F, K, which really messed me up.

I was never a fan of MK or those style games.

Let me put in a mention of Tekken for great finishers. Specifically King. Nothing says 'You got fucked' quite like a multi-part chain throw that does 3/4 of your life.

I stopped playing fighting games when they went 3D. They just play too different from 2D fighters.

While 3D fighters are about button combinations, 2D fighters were more about motions. PPPKF+P vs Charge back for 2 seconds, then forward+P.

I pretty much stopped as well, with the exception of Soul Calibur. The only reason I even bothered with Soul Calibur is because everybody plays it, and I don't know almost anyone that plays 2D fighters.

Just for the sake of satiating my desire to play against friends, and friends of friends, in a fighting game, I forced myself to learn Soul Calibur II. It's a great game, and fun, but I just so much prefer the KOFs, the GGXs, the SFs, etc.

One of my favorite 3D fighters is King of Fighters: Maximum Impact. :)

It's not an official finishing move, but there's nothing more satisfying than fighting as Ryu and finishing someone off with the Shin Shoryuken.

Some of the Double Team moves from the ill-fated 3D Street Fighter were pretty cool.

I'm with the 2D crowd. I've yet to find a 3D fighter that is as fun as a good 2D one. Just not my style. With that said I would be willing to give a 3D KI a try (hint, hint MS).

I, um...what are you talking about? Street Fighter EX is the only 3D SF game I know of. Unless you mean the cancelled version of Capcom Fighting Jam that was in 3D? I know it was team-based...but EX wasn't.

It was EX3. You could tag in and out and some characters had special tag combos that were essentially cut scenes that dealt damage. Some of them were really rather cool. That and the waves of enemies at the credit screen was about the only good things about the game.

I'll throw my hat into the "never figured out the 3d dimension" crowd. The only 3d fighter I liked is VF with Soul Calibur taking second place. I don't know why but I could never really get into the memorization rythem with Tekken that I could with VF.

And depending on which version of Ryu you're using the ShinShoryuken could count as a finisher given animation when it connects and the ammount of damage it does.

The Johnny Cage nut punch while not a finisher, was incredible nonetheless and was used as such whenever I got the chance.

Man, all this Street Fighter talk and no mention of the Shun Gokou Satsu/Raging Demon on this page? Shame. It's really impractical to use against anyone trained to see it coming, so actually landing it and dealing all that damage becomes all the sweeter.

But yeah, toss me in with the guys scratching their heads over 3D fighting games. Like Slash, I only ever got into Soul Calibur 2. I enjoyed some Tekken 2 Vs. back when it was brand new, but I couldn't stand the series when I went back to play it. I've always meant to play Virtua Fighter 4 and the Maximum Impact games, though.

Shit, I have this game in, well, ahem, not exactly legal format. Part of a big zip of stuff. I played it, like, once. It was the worst moment of my life.

And if you want insane randomness, watch the opening video of the game. Holy christ.

Way of the Warrior...one of the reasons why the 3DO died so horribly. Wasn't there another 3D fighting game that was supposed to come out for that? Or maybe Jaguar (CD)? I remember a killer Scotsman...

Real fighting games require you to finish your opponent with actual buttons.

Well, I'll grant that fatalities may seem a bit gimmicky now-a-days, but honestly, back when fighting games were just coming out they were what really drew a lot of people into fighting games and all.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not elitist to the point of not being able to appreciate OMG CLOWN CAR FROM SKY!!!WTF?!
