it's not going to turn out that we were the K-T event is it
Brannon Braga?
I didn't watch the show but I read a review that said the determine that it's an alternate timeline they traveled to
So maybe there won't be a K-T event dun dun duuuuuuuun
I will still watch Terra Nova as I liked how the dude in charge is pretty much Trevor Morgan the Warlord (minus some wizards), but that alien math bullshit almost made me hate it.
Just once I'd like a show to rely on its setting/premise instead of having to put in a mystery or something else.
Like No Ordinary Family would have been perfectly fine without that dang conspiracy
And it probably wouldn't have been canceled
Regular family gets superpowers and man that is weird is enough to keep a show going.
As is future people fight dinosaurs and themselves
TLB, you should check out Alphas! They just had their first season finale and the show kept improving as it went along, where the closing moments of the finale had me legit pissed that no new episodes are coming till 2012. They definitely did the superpowered team right, has a mythology and world backstory that they fed you in bits and pieces in easily understood ways, and have tons of cool little touches with the powers, which is even cooler when you realize their budget is tiny as hell. Plus David Strathairn as the prof x analog is brilliant
also tonight's episode of raising hope was brilliant. i love the focus on sabrina and she has excellent comedic timing and gosh, when will those two crazy kids get together already
also amazing was burt in the intro, processing a revalation for about 15 seconds too long. shame he didn't get an emmy nom because he has been amazing on this show

I kept debating watching Alphas, but the promos never really sold me one way or the other. Plus I just couldn't accept any SyFy show being as good as Eureka
So bummed there is only one more season left.
So goddang bummed it got canceled for the reason it did.
Also I find it hard to believe any action television show, no matter what the genre will ever be as great as season one of Human Target. That first season was perfection.
So the other day I was sick and sitting around at home and at that point where I'm just bored enough and in the mood to look at boobs that I watched the playboy club, but not quite bored enough or wanting to look at boobs enough to find some actual porn.
It was not quite as shitty as I expected but not something I'm planning on making a habit out of.
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
Alphas basically found a way to transcend it's syfy roots. Like I love eureka and warehouse 13, but they can be so damn campy at times. Alphas has a way of appearing serious and character driven despite some plot holes with each episode (mostly because of strathairn), but still manages to have a few downright hilarious moments.
this review says it best (linked from avclub: "Penn has given us everything in the mutant group narrative that matters — the generalized outsider advocacy, the open-source alternative families, the (not-so) subtextual political commentary — and has trashed everything that doesn’t — self-important melodrama, whiny emo teens, effects that eat up millions of bucks when twenty will do. (Seriously, the effects budget for this show must equal how much it costs to develop two 30-second CG shots. Oh, and a blurry lens.)"
Basically cuts down on the bullshit of Heroes and found a way to make that whole story feel fresh. And Gary and bill are basically a buddy cop movie right up your alley
The l word is excellent but the whole last season feels bananas and crazy in a bad way so just be forewarned on that. Also queer as folk (us version) was surprisingly watchable as well. Hal Sparks!
lostwords, what i gather from your post is that you do not like campy things
lostwords, you are not my friend
No man, I loooove camp, but there's like syfy brand camp unique to their shows, just like there's a usanetwork brand camp with their flock of shows, and it's nice to see a show transcend that a bit

They do really good stuff on a cheap budget. It's all about knowing when to show something and how much of something to show.

Could be really corny, but could be fun too.
It's a great show. It's like The A-Team meets Ocean's 11.
I watch Leverage and fucking love it.
High-Five Geek!
Boardwalk Empire's was ok, not amazing, but I still like the show.
Coran Attack!

Even though Kitsis/Horowitz did as much terrible on Lost as they did great. Also Tron: Legacy.
the one aliens line I noticed was an obvious homage
I'll give him so mad props...
the 2nd episode was pretty dire but Im still hoping it gets better
Definitely a con.
What weirds me out is that he's basically playing exactly the same character he did in Avatar, right?
Hell yeah bro. Parker and Hardison and Elliot are the best.

also is 2 Broke Girls bad enough this week that I can just pretend that they skipped a week? AV Club said next episode's much better

It stars Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk and it is probably my favorite horror comedy since Army of Darkness.
I'd say it is on par with Shaun of the Dead, and ekes out both An American Werewolf in London and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon.
It was not quite as shitty as I expected but not something I'm planning on making a habit out of.
it had pam grier!
the real l world is a terrible show, however

how like human target is alphas because that is my bench mark for proper tv action
