Hi!
I'm looking at buying this neat looking iPad/iPhone dock/speaker system from amazon -
http://www.amazon.com/JVC-UXVJ3B-iPhone-System-30-Watt/dp/B005AWYG2Q/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1314726531&sr=8-6 - its $150 cheaper for me to buy from the US than it is locally, so I put my order in and everything, but then suddenly realized the plug wouldn't fit in to my Australian power socket!
I was looking in to transformers and took a look at the user manual for this device on the JVC USA website -
http://books.jvc.com/Download/584614638/GVT0330-001D.pdf -Instead of a cord running straight from the unit to the wall, the unit connects first to what they call an AC adaptor, in to which runs what looks like a standard computer/kettle type cord, which then plugs in to the wall.
I'm basically wondering if i'd run in to problems if I just used one of my kettle cords, since there's an existing AC adapter. Or if that AC adapter is tuned to US power, and instead of getting a plug transformer I should try to get an AC adapter suited to Australian power?
Yeah, no idea how power works, so please recommend! If a simple transformer is the way to go, i'll just do that.
Thanks

What an AC adapter does, is it converts AC power from the wall into DC power that electronics can use.
If you have a hard time finding them, I'm travelling from North America to Aus next week and would be willing to throw one in the post for you (I have a bucket load)
