I am a complete battlefield amateur but the games with PA people today were fun. Possibly convinced to preorder and the pc experience is leaps and bounds above console for me so far. I've built a nice PC so may as well get some use out of it.
I've seen some MW3 and most of the ARs are jarring to the ear.

So I have a shit download speed and thus I need to dl the beta as I sleep. However I just left my PC on for an hour as I played my 360 and when I came back to make sure everything was ok Origin decided that despite the fact I was downloading something it'd be a good idea to log itself out. I can't find an option anywhere to stop this from happening. Anybody know how to stop this?

I wouldn't worry too much about it if you didn't get in, I'm sure we'll be shaking up the platoon once we hit retail, and again soon after to make sure everyone who is active can get in.
Well, so far, this fucking sucks. I can't see a god damn thing (ESPECIALLY the other team), the bloom level is retarded, and people being prone completely fucks with me because I have never had to worry about it any game before ever. I am about 3 and 30.
Oh, and I can';t find a server in the browser with <200 ping. From CANADA. Not Northern Canada, either.
So, one thing I've noticed is that there is like zero spotting going on.
I wonder how useful a Recon guy focusing on spotting instead of taking shots would end up being?
For sure a lot of it is people being newbies and not knowing to mash Q, but it feels like spotting has been nerfed a lot. It's harder to tag people and it doesn't seem to persist as long as in BC2.

I'm enjoying this...no bugs for me so far, although a couple disconnects. Game isn't as pretty as I'd hoped in my i5/6850 setup, but it's more fun and smooth than I'd anticipated, so eh.
edit: how do I get my gravatar thing set? I went into gravatar and set it, but my EA profile is still some dumb soldier.
double edit: it just takes awhile to propagate.
Has anyone else noticed not many people play support? Everyone is the assault! At least in my squads.
I totally want to play support, but right now all i an play is the "press A connection lost press A" class. Not as enticing as other classes, but somebody has to do it...
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

As it stands now spotting can be kind of tricky. It's not like BC2 where you can just spot on a general area around the target and he and everyone around him lights up. Also the lethality in game is such that it's often better to take the shot immediately instead of take the time to spot and possibly lose the shot or get shot.
I have feeling you will see a lot more of it on the larger more open maps.

I have to spot and fire at the same time in order to maximize the chance of a kill and also so if I die the person is at least spotted.
My PC can't run this game well on Metro. I doubt it would survive Caspian. I think I might get the PS3 version since the 360 version looks pretty bad in comparison to it. Even my PC looks better than the 360 version.

+ the size limit might go up for retail, or hell, even pooling platoons into regiments or something. We shall see.

Question: Does the game run in 4:3? I want to play it at 1024x1080 on my older LCD.
How extensive is the shot penetration in this? I die loads to it but it never works for me.
People only stay spotted if they're in your line of sight. Once they find cover the triangle disappears.

I mean, if he kills you but you spotted him, and someone else kills him, you get points. I don't understand how people miss this incentive.

And in regards to the graphics on the 360...They aren't at high settings, even for a console, so I wouldn't worry too much.
And the 360 servers are undergoing maintenance. Just have to wait and be patient. Nobody is getting on right now.
