PATV, not in HD

Situation: I want to watch PATV, but my internet connection is sluggish for this day and age (~0.75Mb) and it struggles with HD video. PATV has a button to step down to SD but every time I load a new video it plays the ad in HD, and then proceeds to play the video in HD. I have to stop the video, turn off the HD, and then it'll finally play in lower resolution.
I realise this is something of a FWP, but it would be nice if I could just have all the videos load in my preferred resolution is there any way to do this? Either an option I've missed or a browser extension, perhaps? Any help would be appreciated!
