Hopefully that should let Atherton hit and kill it with an OA.

I haven't done these in such a long time, but they were fun so:

Master of Measured Criticals - Aidan [Led with 2 critical hits for & 2 critical hits against, yet had the lowest damage during the encounter at 38 damage]
Share the Pain - For having over 50% of the party take more than 50 damage. [62 - Aidan, 58 - Atherton, 54 - Lyedyn]
We Really Hate Robert Downey Jr. - Snarl & Rakash for dealing more than 100 damage during the encounter. [112 - Snarl, 105 - Rakash]

And you can all blame Rius for not adding "We Stole All the 20s" to that list as he was the only person to not score a critical hit during the encounter :P Snarl would tied for a "I Miss But Things Still Die" for missing the most yet still ending up with top damage but Atherton out-missed everyone.

Admittedly, those two crits were from Nadia's WSC, which does no damage! Grr. But! Keeping the party on their feet is what I do best. Hooray for damage sponges!

    And go Strikers!

Yea, the ritual gave you and Rius all of the healing surges.

I will likely not have an update until later because today is Canadian Turkey Day.

Gauntlets to Rakash? Or does snarl want to upgrade and pass on the Gauntlets of Blood? Gauntlets have the bonus that they apply to ranged as well - so who wants to be better at what, melee or bloodied-slaying?

Atherton needs to get one of them bags of holding so he can plunder himself a full personal library.

They are not Gauntlets but are, in fact, Bracers!

  • Options
RiusRius Globex CEO Nobody ever says ItalyRegistered User regular
Actually, if the Gauntlets of Blood give their bonus to all attacks instead of just Melee attacks then they'd probably be better on me. Throw and Stab is an at-will with a weak ranged attack and a normal strength melee attack, useful for picking off low health monsters.

    Gauntlets of Blood
Property: You gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls against bloodied targets.

Untyped and non-specific of type of attacks.

i think snarl would be persuaded to trade his blood-soaked gauntlets for those bracers

hard to part with something that was orkish flavored though

the bracers must be extra shiny or otherwise expensive looking

it would stimulate his natural avarice

gold is thicker than water... also blood

man rework the above and you've almost got a dwarvish saying there

    anyway

    in conclusion

    let's make this trade

Hm. Also, it has been far too long since Snarl has strangled anything to death.

Next encounter, I don't care what it is, Snarl is going to get a rope around it and throttle it.

Too many of these stone and metal things.

Snarl needs something that chokes and bleeds before he goes crazy.

He's giving gifts. GIFTS! Give him some blood before he snaps and hugs us all.

So new job is pretty neat but the PA forums are webfiltered. I'm not yet comfortable enough here to proxy 'round that, so I must needs shift my posting to the late afternoons and evenings.

Well, my combat posting anyway. I can definitely still hammer out RP posts on MAH PHONEZ

I somehow totally missed the lootness.

I'll throw something together ASAP, but assume that Atherton explained the enchantment in the bracers, giving Snarl a reason to REALLY WANT THEM. :D

If there's any need for Stealth be sure to put Snarl on it.

He's in the mood to sneak up on someone.

    And choke them.

So... it might as well be the enemy, right?

Kay actually gave me good idea for a recap since it's been a long time between plot:

Fallcrest, having sent its army north to deal with Kobold Keep after the Raven's Roost bandits moved in there in force, tasked the party with removing a surprising kobold thorn in their side that had been raiding supply lines and making the army's life miserable. During the course of removing three group of kobolds from the forest and discovering the plight of a group of elves within the Cloakwood, your group stumbles upon a runner from the army that informs you of a massive kobold counterattack on Fallcrest itself. Racing to the town ahead of the now-recalled army, your party runs into what seems like the remaining population of the kobolds supported by a pair of dragons. Catching them in the back, the party systematically dismantles the attacking forces, eventually facing off with the remaining dragon support and felling the beast upon the Five-Arch Bridge in a climactic battle.

With the army now returning to defend the town after future assaults, word comes that the Keep that had been the focus of the initial campaign has been mysteriously emptied, hinting that the kobold attack was some form of distraction. The Lord Warden implores the party to find out just what happened and where the bandits went, returning you to the Keep while Fallcrest rebuilds from not-insignificant damage. Arriving back within the Cloakwood, you find the Keep empty and heavily trapped. Paying no heed, the group engages in a little bit of property destruction before locating an old, hidden passage into an old wine cellar. Fighting off a series of elementals that had slowly started reclaiming the lower levels of this ancient manor, the group then stumbles upon a series of fresh tracks heading down a hallway. Following the tracks then leads the party to discovering a secret passage into the earth as well as a strange magical aura being carried along by the humanoid tracks and after dispatching with the constructs left behind to delay any pursuit, enters into the tunnel and resumes the chase.

Don't forget exploring undead-infested crypts underneath the city, encountering odd demonic body-stealing beings, and destroying a clutch of dragon eggs.

Also - I would be down for continuing on into the swamp, but we're somewhat tapped out, or at least on low power. I have the power gem someone can use to get a Daily back - at this point, probably a striker cause we can always use the damage. If we want to go on, it'll be tough but we may be able to manage it.

Power Jewels only work on encounter powers, unfortunately. It's strictly a combat-oriented wondrous item, or a skill challenge item to be able to use two skill-related abilities.

I believe Snarl still has both his dailies :D

Also, if we can catch them before they get to the swamp it may be worth the risk.

No dailies left for Rakash, but with an AP I can be pretty destructive. I say we push on; letting bad guys get away is bad for our rep.
