Kills enemy. Sees dropped weapon. Replaces pistol with dropped weapon. "Oh hey, I have Overkill!"
Edit: Beaten by SLyM.
My point was that I actually very rarely trade my handgun out for the dropped primary, unless my handgun is out of ammo.
Two primaries is almost never necessary, and oftentimes tricks you into making decisions like switching from your AR to your shotgun for no reason. Especially when ARs are stupid fucking good even in close range anyways.
People think that having two primaries makes you more versatile. It doesn't. It tricks you into thinking this. "If I have a gun for every situation, I can handle every situation that much more easily!"
Nope. You will almost never have time to switch from your FAMAS to your AUG in BLOPS. You also almost never have time to reload either. But you have time to get your handgun out and put a round or five into his chest.

Basically, get good with a handgun and stop throwing it away. The military ideology of never using an enemy's weapon over your own is something I apply to class based FPS games.
I'm not going to trade my 1911 in for some kid's orange lens purple heart dot FAMAS with a silencer on it just because it's an AR. I'll save myself the time, run past it, and continue to murder people with my .45 inch love rocks.
More versatile? What? I don't replace my pistol with an assault rifle because I want to be more versatile. I replace it if I'm running a non-Scavenger class. That way if I'm doing well and run out of ammo, I have a backup immediately. That strategy has worked rather well for me. Why the fuck would I want to use my pistol when I can use the dropped FAMAS, FAMAS, or FAMAS I found after killing an enemy?
Anyway, does anyone have experience with the Turtle Beach X41s vs/or the DX11s? I'm considering one or the other but leaning toward the latter. It uses a sound process to turn the stereo X11s into surround sound, but apparently without the drawbacks of the X41s. But I don't know if that simulated surround sound is as good.
There's also the DPX21s, which are similar to the DX11s but can be used on all three major platforms instead of just the Xbox 360. Apparently it's uncomfortable to wear, though.

It takes way fucking longer to switch from an AR to a shotgun than .5 seconds. I don't know where you're getting that number from. And it also takes longer than that still to even make that decision. And in this time, your opponent has killed you five times over.
MW 3 SoH Pro = BLOPS Scout Pro.
And Overkill is for when the other primary I want isn't the FAMAS/AUG/OP weapon of choice. Like an LMG and a shotgun. Or a sniper rifle and a shotgun. Or a sniper rifle and an SMG. Plus Overkill Pro is Warlord/Bling.
"BUT HERFDERF I COULD PUT THAT ON MY WEAPON PERK THING."
Yes you could. If you used the same weapon you always do because you are boring. I like cool quirky classes. Maybe you don't. Diff'rent Strokes.
Edit: Also Vac's point. It's a funky kind of Scav.

I like using my pistol more than someone's FAMAS. I'll run my primary out of ammo before I run my 1911 out of ammo, and so I'll trade the primary instead.
I'm basically saying that I'll never run Overkill because it's a stupid fucking perk that makes no sense to use over anything else, especially Game Breaker Pro Assassin.
That's cool Scat. Overkill isn't for you. There are four other perfectly good perks in that slot for you, and one zany cool one for hipsters like me and Luigi and Mechanical and Vac.
In other news, who else took a while for Stalker's coolness to sneak up on them? How often do I die ADS'd killing one guy and strafing not quite enough against the second? Too much, that's how much.

Stalker looks fucking awesome.
But I'll probably wind up with ExCon/Blast Shield/Steady Aim for my shotgun class. SoH/Blast Shield/Ninja or SitRep for everything else.
If I wanted to win, I'd just run Blind Eye/Assassin/Ninja. Because they are, once again, accommodating campers by building perks for them.

im sure i'll play around with stalker, but even though all the youtubers seem to think its going to be awesome, i still dont really see its usefulness.
im more looking forward to the SoH/Quickdraw combo.
in other news, i played 7 games of dom today in mw2 on PS3, and ALL SEVEN went to host migration at some point, after which i was on a one bar til it host migrated again and then dumped everyone out. woohoo for the host system. and ive been trying to play groundwar cuz im going for EMPs because i want the sweet challenge symbol and i have trouble getting that many kills in a row in regular tdm or dom, and i just spawn and die over and over. my scores are typically 25+/-10 in tdm and dom, and ~15/15 in ground war. i dont know how all those youtube guys do it. its always a struggle just to get out of spawn, much less rack up 7 kills in a row.
edit: and yesterday i went 46-5 in a TDM that we won 6700-4000. think about that for a second.
I'm looking forward to our internet becoming 40 down 15 up so I get host all the time forever.
It's at 25/5 right now.
edit: also looking forward to the PA BF3 server being in San Antonio. Fuck yeah, FiOS and Texas.
yeah ours is usually at 25/5 but if anyone in the house turns on a computer it plummets to like 15/3. i want to upgrade but my roommates dont play online games and cant see the reason to pay more. plus im on a wireless connection for my PS3. ugh.

I'm probably going to upgrade pretty soon. From 15/12 to 25/20. Fucking... Cox offers 55/50, but 25/20 is already $65.00/mo. They don't even list the 55/50 price online. If you have to ask...
Would it be that hard to make ghost/assassin whatever just delay the UAV finding you, or make it not work as long as you're not sitting still for too long, etc. Instead of just a flat "UAV's never see you period"?

Man cable companies are expensive, FIOS is much cheaper plus you get everything else (lollandline phone and TV) bundled in for 88$.
Anyways I was reading some stuff about MW3 and support people are basically going to be able to keep Counter UAVs in the air all day erry day because points don't reset on death. I know I will just launch a counter every 5 points and be done with it. This is probably why they made a Assassin give immunity to counter UAVs. I know this isn't a revelation to most people but I just now realized how much more prevalent UAV counter UAVs should be. I'm excited for MW3 but they really need to have a beta especially to test out the way support perks work otherwise I see this being just as much as a clusterfuck as MW2 and BLOPS
Totally my loadout with support streaks. May switch around some perks for objective games/grenade spamming.
Hold on, am I noticing that Scav doesn't say anything about grenades? I'm not actually seeing that as a horrible thing.

One of the stupidest changes that Treyarch made for Blops was undoing MW2's super amazing "UAV's take less than 1 clip to kill with any gun" system, and I hope like fuck that IW is smart enough to bring that back.
When MW3 comes out I am going to be wearing my wookie suit like it's 1977 and I just travelled back in time to line up for opening night of Star Wars.
I love my L96A1, I love to slowscope/hardscope with it, and I am never able to play on a team that wants to work together. Maybe it's because I play on PS3, but campers and qUicKsc0pErs are just not a problem for me. I'd rather be 360 no scoped than blitzed by one of the 3 kids going 24-38 wearing Flak Jacket/Steady Aim/Marathon with an SMG spewing bullets on rapid fire. It's the frantic spazziness that I can't handle, so I often revert to the Lone Wolf long/mid range gamestyle that keeps my untalented ass above a 1 K/D.
Also, is anyone else on the COD ELITE beta? Just curious if there's a PA group or what others think of the whole thing. It's nice to be able to see stats online but the only really boss detail is the heat map allowing you to see not just your kills and deaths but also what you used to kill someone and where both of you were when it happened.

I love it when people run flak jacket and cap points and actively help the team as opposed to just using annoying weapons at long range and only caring about their k/d ratio but then I'm a Highlander/Islander and its in our genes to run at people with guns just to see how it goes down.

If people are smart UAV and Counter UAV should always be flying with the new support system and that's not even factoring hardline.

I would run overkill so I could have my old AR/Shotgun combo. But that'd be on one class pretty much.

I also love these things. I cap objectives. Spazzy kids with rapid fire do not cap objectives. Spazzy kids on my team don't realize we're playing Dom. At a certain point I just give up and stop trying to work against my supposed team mates.
Most of the Dom games I wind up in seem to turn into either TDM or "Let's cap A and run to B! Okay now grab C! OMFG we lost A runbackrunbackrunback! OMFG we lost C! Runbackrunbackrunback. OMFG we lost B and A! Runaroundrunaroundrunaroun! 'You are being dominated!' OMFGOMFGOMFG!"
I believe it's valid strategy to have someone sitting back and killing everyone who comes near a bomb site or flag. Defends are not nearly as glorious as caps, but keeping people from fucking with your shit helps win games.

@mFiend Please stop using ridiculous terms like slowscope and hardscope when talking about sniper rifles.
I know most of you here are rushdown style players, but I like to mix it up with support roles sometimes. If I was making a sniper class, I think I'd run Recon Pro, Hardline Pro, and Marksmen Pro. That would give allow me to mark enemies on the radar if I didn't kill them (the apparent only way to make Assassin's appear), get higher streaks faster, and ID enemies/hold breath longer.
Possible options for other perks include Blind Eye Pro, Assassin Pro, and SitRep pro. Blind Eye to hide from air support or shoot it down, but I figure most teammates will be running anti-air launchers. Assassin just because it's good all around, but I figure that I'm gonna die in a straight up gunfight and if they're bound to find me eventually. SitRep would help me locate enemy equipment and possibly save my life from sneaking enemies, but I might be too far away to accurately pinpoint equipment location and the enemy might be running Dead Silence.
That set up seems to me to be the best way to assist my team while attacking from long range. Won't really know until the game comes out though.

Have they said how long someone who is "marked" by a scout appears on radar?
I'm guessing until their health fully recovers or something?
Fuck you people and your fast internet connections, and fuck Dusda for buying the BF3 server in Texas after Chicago won the poll by a large margin. I want to connect to servers in my area, God dammit.
