What, you don't know to strafe a bit to burn that entire frame so they waste it turning toward you? Not much I can do about that for you.

Hahaha, the codes for double xp are right on the outside of the bags of Doritos. I'm gonna go around with a pad and pen writing codes down all night.
Welcome to my world, Spider.
I'm glad you brought this up, actually. I wanted to tell you guys last week, when I first found out about it, because I want everyone here to have as much Double XP as they can get their hands on (especially the guys overseas, because I don't think they even have access to the promotion), but I didn't think the information should come from me.
So... AUAV is a shootable SR71? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Just means I need to run launchers more.
I write you a story
But it loses its thread

I wouldn't mind playing MW3 with my brother and some friends, but this Assasin stuff sounds pretty fucking bad, so the solution to all the outrage from Black Ops Ghost, is to split it into 2 perks but effectively making them far, far stronger than Ghost ever was...
Okay, whatever you say Infinity Ward, oh and you are bringing Quickscope back in fully? Just dandy.
I'm going to try to not suck with tubes anymore so I can abuse assassins with them. With the knowledge of exactly what assassin brings I really hope they didn't scale back explosives too much.

This news might just allow me to change my entire playstyle. Which could end up being a very good thing, in the end. I was talking to a friend of mine today about the Support Strike Package, and it may end up being something I run a lot of. Sure, half of what Support can field is completely negated by Assassin, but I think it might still be really powerful. The fact that you can die and still get your streaks out opens up a lot of possibilities, and it might allow me to play in completely different ways than I do right now.
Ballistic Vests is a staple of Support, in my opinion. Probably one of the best things they have access to. It's a duffle bag, essentially, full of vests, that your team can access once you've dropped it down. Wearing a vest will give you 30 more hit-points. Since weapons tend to deal 30 or 40 damage a shot, wearing the vests will allow you to take one additional bullet before you drop. That's kick ass.
Next up for me would be Recon Drone. Since it's one of only two Assassin counter-measures in the game, I feel like I really can't pass it up. From what I've seen, each "tag" you get in the drone increases your point total by 100. If we assume that each hundred points is another "kill", then you should be able to boost yourself up the chain pretty quickly with Recon Drones. If I tag every member of the enemy squad, for example, then I just jumped up from 10 to 16. That's only 2 off of EMP/Juggernaut Recon/Osprey Drop.
The third streak really depends, I think, on what we're up against. If we're fighting another full team. I'd probably go with Juggernaut Recon. I love the idea of us trying to take an objective, and struggling, until I suit up in full Recon Armour with a Riot Shield, and everyone crowds up around me for a push. Ordinarily, though, I think I'd probably run the Osprey Drop, or even the Sentry Gun Drone.
The problem with standard Sentry Guns, I guess, is that they won't fucking fire at anything. If the entire enemy team's running Assassin / Blind Eye, they can just run right up and kill the thing. But if you're in control of it, even if Assassin / Blind Eyes don't show up on the thermal camera ... you can still see them, and you can still shoot the fuck out of them. If you place that Sentry Drone on top of a well-fortified area (like the Air Conditioner of Doom on WMD), where there's only one real way to get up to it, I think you can really rain some fucking shit down on the enemy team.

Robert Bowling's new video, which it won't allow me to link here (I guess?) says the following:
So in Modern Warfare 3, every time you Prestige, you unlock a Prestige Token. But we're not stopping there, we're also rewarding our hardcore, veteran players. So if you've ever prestiged in Call of Duty 4, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, or Black Ops, you're going to get a token rewarded for that, as well. So if you haven't prestiged yet, in Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops, now is the time to do it, because on the weekend of October the 27th, we're flipping on double XP for the first time across the franchise. So this is going to allow you to get in there, rank up, and get that Prestige Point, so you have it Day One of Modern Warfare 3.
In the video, he talks a lot about what you can do with your Prestige Points. A lot of it, we already know. He does clarify some stuff for us, though. The "Double XP" you can give yourself from the Prestige Point is worth 2 hours of double XP, for example. He also confirms that the "unlock equipment" feature that can be purchased allows you to unlock any single multiplayer feature from the very start of a Prestige. So, let's say you unlock the Ak47 at level 80, and it's your favorite gun; well, if you want to spend your Prestige Token, you can unlock it the moment you Prestige.
[Edit]He's already answered my question on his Twitter account: You get one free Prestige Token for each game you've Prestiged in, not just one total. So ... I'm going to have four free Prestige Tokens on Day One. Fuck, yes.
You know, I just decided it'd be really cool if the booby trap crate came up as a random crate to your teammates and blew them up too. That way you could burn all the douches who try to pick up your stuff the second it hits the ground.

It's probably platform specific, though, right? My copy of World at War probably won't count because I've only played the PC version. Oh well.
The only one I haven't prestiged in yet is Call of Duty 4, but I'm close to the last level. We should play that today and you guys should help me get there!

Looks like I'll have 3 points. Anyone here played a beta of the game and have a decent idea of what assault rifles are going to be decent?
I might have missed it, but is there any specific info on how prestige tokens can be spent? I understand the gist, but was curious if there's a verified writeup out there somewhere.

im only gonna have one point. dang it, i wish i didnt hate blops so much.
i was gonna be pissed if you got a token for each time you prestiged cuz i only prestiged once in mw2 on 360 and 8 times on PS3, so i still would have only gotten one token on the platform im playing mw3 on. and now that it sounds like the double xp and double weapon xp unlocks are pointless, im going for the challenges/titles and emblems ones hardcore. i'll proabably do an extra custom class with my free token and the first time i prestige though. i like having lots of custom classes.
it is confirmed that there are 10 prestiges, right? a lot of videos lately have been saying it isnt confirmed whether its 10 or 15, but i though robert bowling had said there were 10.
titles and emblems are unlocked through completing challenges. i like designing an emblem as well, but unlocking the myriad (and sometimes downright insanse) challenged helps keep the game fresh months after the gameplay has gotten stale. i found myself discovering completely new ways of playing because i was trying to get a certain challenge.
the thing i will miss from blops is the CoD point challenges. i know elite will have stuff that is similar, but it sounds like those will be much harder to attain. they're stuff like earning the most kills in TDM over the next five hours, with points for being in the top 20%, 10%, and 5%. but there might be cooler ones.

I never got the emblem I wanted in MW2, I think you got it for having 750 kills with a Harrier, dumped the game at 690+
I'd wish Microsoft had given me moderator status while I was playing MW2, (I assume they will be back for MW3) so I could have straight up banned all the silly geese that would keep sending "Prestige 10 U WANT??? 1600 MS Funbux" instead of reporting them which seems to do fuck all.
it is confirmed that there are 10 prestiges, right?
Going out on a limb and guessing it's 80 levels and 10 prestiges. Though now you can do everything over after that if you want as well.
Also, 4 tokens right off the bat? Cool.
There are 10 Prestiges, with 80 levels per Prestige, yeah. That's confirmed. Also, just for reference, that's 800 levels. Which means that Modern Warfare 3 will have the longest prestige grind in the series. To put it in perspective, Black Ops had 750 levels. I liked Treyarch's system, though; they increased the total number of Prestiges, but kept the number of levels per Prestige low, so each one goes by relatively quickly.
Leveling up never actually feels like much of a grind until you hit about level 40 or so, then it slows right down. In Black Ops, that's cool, because you're very nearly at the end of the Prestige at that point. But in Modern Warfare 3 ... you're only halfway through at level 40. So even though 800 levels doesn't seem like much more than 750, it totally is.
I'll be spending all of my free Prestige Tokens on extra Create-A-Class slots immediately. In Modern Warfare 3, we've got the ability to tie our streaks to our classes, so extra slots translates into a fantastic amount of versatility and adaptability. So that's priority number one.
Also, Mechanical, you can't turn around and do everything again. You don't unlock a complete reset in the Prestige Shop - it's a complete stat reset. You'll stay at your current level, but your Combat Record essentially gets wiped out. So if you had a low K/D because you spent the first few months trying to figure out the maps, and get used to the new weapons, and you know you can do better, you can just erase that shit and start fresh.
If I got a copy of WaW could I prestige between now and MW3 dropping?
If you do get it I'll join you for some of that, since it would be nice to knock the dust off my copy.

You don't have to Prestige all the way to the end, right? I get the impression all you have to do is Prestige once in the games to get the tokens. I'm 10th Prestige in Call of Duty 4, and 15th Prestige in Black Ops, but I never got past 2nd or 3rd in World at War and Modern Warfare 2 because ... well, I thought they sucked.
It sounded like you just have to prestige and that's it. You don't have to go all the way to the end.
I'm almost level 49 in Call of Duty 4. I'm going to be playing that for awhile until I can prestige. We just had some hacker free games, though the first two we joined were plagued with that nonsense. Enemies were spawning on the rooftop of Showdown and in another everyone had infinite ammo and zoomed around the map like Superman.

Never even thought about [email protected], I was working on prestiging in COD4 today...at about level 50 right now. Hopefully I can finish it between now and then. And yes, class slots all the flipping way.
Only matchmaking to public games are Ranked (meaning, you have to rank up to unlock weapons to rank on the leaderboards), choosing to play on a Dedicated Server is UnRanked. Meaning unlocks are completely controlled by the Server Admin. They can choose to unlock everything or limit class restrictions to whatever they like to fully customize the experience. You do not have to rank up in Public games to have access to weapons in Dedicated Servers, you have complete control over what is unlocked for you in a Unranked Dedicated Server.
man this is awesome
if it weren't for extra class slots, this would be the first CoD where I never prestiged
