It's odd but from previous variations I've tried on her, I think it will work well. The progression goes Farmer/Ganker -> Tanky DPS -> Hard AD Carry (if the game goes long).

I have found myself steering away from it with Lux. Morello's Evil Tome is just better, and cheaper. The active on Deathfire is great, but if I'm that close to an enemy as Lux... I either don't need it or I'm going to be too dead to benefit from it.

My current problem with itemizing for Lux is trying to find a gold per ten item now that I don't use deathfire. I could still pick up a kage's pick, and by the time I need the space in her inventory it would have made me cash. I'd rather build a soulstealer on my first trip back though...

Leonas play really depends on you knowing when to combo in or not.

You really should be running defensive runes on her to maximize her survivability. Because of eclipse she really has good defensive scaling, and you can afford to go gp5 items on her (philo + HoG) and hold on to them for a while. Leona benifits best from scaling hp early as a defensive stat due to the natural MR+Armor eclipse gives her. Get at least the Magic Resist blues, and you should see a huge difference in your game.

Also dont even think about GP5 items on lux, you shouldnt have any problems farming as lux. And stealing kills, and farming, yum.

This is very reassuring to hear. The first runes I started buying for her were Mres. I normally start her with a hp/5 item and a health pot. Then on first port back I get philo & the health+gpt item and try to get boots. Then I build merc treads and grab a little armor. Then I immediately go after frozen mallet which makes a huge difference. From there I can either build warmogs armor, a magic resist item, or finish her main armor item. I have been contemplating holding off on any armor items for her until after getting the mallet, but I need to get some armor runes first. Leona's early farm is so bad I'm tempted to run mp10 quint on her to really bring her passive gold up.

I've done this with singed and shaco before. It never gets old. A little harder to pull off on singed...but still, with a fling and goo...it's over...

God how long is this ridiculous streak of idiot team mates going to go on for? Enemy team has Tristana and Kog'Maw. Aside from me, there is not one single defence item on my entire team. And this is a 45 minute game. We could have won at 35 minutes but this is yet another team that gets a lot of kills then sits around doing nothing while they are all dead. Then their carries bulk up and we get roflstomped. Despite the fact a 2000g thornmail on our entire team would basically render their damage pathetic since they only had 1 ap character.

It's a great way to get a quick game in, get to blow some people up in the process, it's tense, and the game can swing wildly, making for fun times. But it's also kind of mindless at this stage. I like it, but I don't think it will ever replace SR for pure competition.

It's mindless because at the moment there's no defined high level play handle on the metagame to filter down through to the game. The only constant right now is sending 1 person bot.

There are a few other issues like the valuation of armour and single character cap rates.

DFG + Morello's Evil Tome Teemo is still pretty much the best thing though. Bonus points if you're Cottontail/Astronaut Teemo.

Kog is still squishy and attacks a lot so Thornmail recoil damage on him adds up, particularly if he hasn't noticed what's happened or if he's not killing his enemy target fast enough.
