No, it's a day and a half. We're starting earlier than listed when I put the OP up (which was going to be Sunday at 3 PM). We're now starting tonight, but still going until Monday at 3 PM for the first day.
My Nightmares is at 7, and the game is warning me not to let it get to 8. It seems that everything I do causes my nightmares stat to increase. What should I do? What the big deal about Nightmares anyway
it's a menace. nightmares are the "damage" you take from watchful challenges once you get the score past around 10 or so. If your nightmares reach 8, you go insane and are forced into "a state of some confusion." You have to escape the mental institution, basically.

oh and every progression in the Dream storylines is erased when that happens
yeah, certain cards will increase menaces, most notably, if you see a red ringed card (which means it instantly fires if you click it, rather than giving you a choice), that says "you dream about..." that will increase your nightmares.
That's an instance where it's a pro/con thing, because dreams are good to increase, they just hurt you to do it.
