On the chapter with the football stadium, with the 5 a side football pitch indoors, there's a television there, watch it, all of it, crazy stuff happens
also on the Cemetery level, where you find Cognetti's tombstone, I shot Passo in the face for fun, i failed the game, game reloaded and Passo looked at me and said "Max i knew things where bad, but murder/suicide?
The soap opera made me lol.
Personally my favorite TV part was:
Hotel Mona. "I must be going crazy." OR IS HE? Dun dun dunnn.

That tears it. Where's the whiskey and pills? I'll just induce a drug-filled haze until this game finally sees its True and Proper release on God's chosen platform. Worst case scenario, I'll at least get to enjoy part of the Max Payne experience.
Also liver failure. But that's a small price to pay at this point.
God damn. PC version just got pushed to the 1st. It's now the same day worldwide. Was hoping to unlock it early, using a VPN.
God fucking damnit. It now unlocks the day I have to go to work for two weeks. Fuck my life.

Just picked this up tonight. Multiplayer is fun. First few rounds I was going in beast mode but then I must have joined the pro room by mistake and proceeded to have entire gun stores of ammo shoved up my ass.
How do I in multiplayer carry heaver and heaver gear? I'd like to roam around in body armor and the RPK eventually to lay down more dakka but jesus. The AK-47 alone is heavy as shit.

As you level up you expand what you can carry and still remain light. You also have to get to like rank 5 to unlock the custom load outs.

Really wish the Social Club would accurately reflect my single player progress. I've got several guns that it says are still in pieces and more evidence then what's listed.
The Bull is quickly climbing my list of favorite sidearms in multi. That thing puts dudes DOWN.
Its a great gun, but one thing I've found it doesn't work that great dualed up (as in two bulls) it works better with a pt92 or 1911 in the offhand because they have a higher fire rate, and tend to make up for those up close no aim situations.
One thing that I think they need to tighten up is the none min 30 rifles all seem to seriously lack in accuracy/damage. Like I've been trying to use the MDL to level up another rifle, and its abysmal compared to the min 30. Just high fire rate, shit accuracy and the damage is really crap. Could be I need to add attachments, but its going to be hard to level with me losing most shoot outs, even when I have the jump on the target.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
I really dig the multiplayer mode, for some reason. Mainly because nobody seems to be able to aim worth a damn without the soft lock. Straight up digging the levels and the general vibe - gang wars in particular is a great way to get me playing modes I'd generally never play on their own.
Won't have a chance to play this for a few days, but I'm getting used to playing this as a Rockstar cover shooter with the occasional bullet time/shoot dodge flourish. But goddamn, this cover system is rough. No way to roll over/transfer to another pillar without unsticking, double tapping the roll button and a direction, having Max stand up, then pressing cover again to stick to the new object... Christ.
I just got done playing Binary Domain and this just feels a bit clunkier.

Another 360 event going on right now until noon CST. Who's up for representing?
If you think people can't aim out of softlock you must not have run across the higher rank dudes in free aim. You'll be gnashing your teeth pretty badly when you get pinged from a range with a min 30. Not everyone mind you, but there are some people with exceptional skill already.
I don't mind gang wars, but as someone who often plays by himself during the week, its the most frustrating multiplayer mode because a bad team get lead to you getting slaughtered and get nothing out of it.
Like in a bad death match you can still have a good k/d and win some vendettas. But in a bad gang wars where you are the only person pushing objectives you can get slaughtered and have an absolute shit score and just feed the other team the whole time and for me as a player thats hella frustrating.

I just reviewed Max Payne on the site in my sig, basically I didn't like it very much. I mean it's a good game, but it should have been so much more. I managed to trade it in today for £37.50 at Game! Not bad at all.

Edit: Taken the review out now, just wanted to make the point that perhaps it was better for people who wanted to read the review just to click the sig, rather than posting all of it here. Appears I was right.

Fair review, some points I would probably disagree with, but I'd be preaching to a choir. If you didn't like it very much, why give it a 73? Do you actually mean to say that you actually liked it, but not as much as you were hoping? I'm just confused because you have two conflicting statements. This post has gone far too long. Sorry.
Wall of text and complete suck of review. I can see why you have to pay for your own games.
Max Payne is a terribly pathetic character. Typically in action games you play some kind of lovable rogue, or all-out action hero with a strong sense of patriotism or honour (however misguided). Max Payne is an alcoholic painkiller-addict hypocrite
So you never paid attention to the story of the previous games at all? Max has always been an on edge messed up guy, 3 just takes that to its logical conclusion.
In this game Max is horrified by a number of acts of cruelty and murder perpetrated in front of him, and then he runs into the next room to shoot literally everybody in the face. In slow motion. At one point somebody threatens you in a bar, so you kill everybody. It just doesn’t add up, there’s very few levels in which you’re on the defensive and so I found it incredibly hard to sympathise with Payne.
If only the game itself had made some kind of statement to this during the game... Oh shit wait it did several times, Indeed the entire story you apparently didn't notice while playing through the game was centered on the idea payne didn't think he was doing any good AT ALL!
Death is something blah blah blah whine whine video games are hard sometimes.
These next to paragraphs are you complaining about the difficulty maybe you should have played on ultra pussy mode to make up for your suck.
Multiplayer shows some innovation with some Killzone-esque mode-changing on the fly and a brilliant implementation of the bullet-time mechanic, but the shooting still feels unresponsive and with short respawn times it becomes frantic and frenetic extremely quickly
Shooting feels unresponsive? What the fuck does that even mean? You put your cursor over an enemy and you kill the motherfucker. And frantic and frenetic... almost like that was what they were going for with tight maps full of choke points where you can catch enemies and murder them. And maybe you died a lot in multi because as your previous parargraphs had explained you just sucked a whole bunch.
Your overrall is laughable considering you seemingly were bad at the game, and didn't under the story. Maybe your next review should be barbie horse adventures.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Ok how about a summary of the plot of the game, is max still in new york, if no why not? You don't have to spoil the whole thing but a good reviewer would at least mention the majority of the game takes place in Brazil.
No mention of the music, or sound effects. Is the game played entirely silently? Do the guns sound differently? Does each one have a distinct sound when its fired so when you play multi you can generally tell what kind of gun an opponent is using from the sound of its report (the answer yes). How was the music integrated to the story? Did it use the original theme at all from the previous two games?
No mention of meele executions in single player (did you get any?) or the new system for dual wielding and carrying additional weapons. For that matter no mention how the game changes the arsenal you get from one level to the next, forcing you as a player to have to use different weapons and get used to them (to prepare you for using them in multi). You also failed to bring up golden weapons and how in single player they can augment your own weapon and then unlock a golden skin for the gun in multi.
No mention of how there are two seperate level up systems in multi (one for overall rank, and another specifically tied to the weapons you are using) or the various bursts one gets that can help your team. Or hell you didn't even mention the different kinds of matches you can play in multi (deathmatch, team deathmatch, gang wars, and payne killer). Or the various load outs and how depending on the weight of the gear it affects your stamina and health recovery.
Thats just off the top of my head. I give your review a 2 out of 10 and thats being polite.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Actually, I'm a little ashamed of having entered into an argument on the internet, please feel free to criticise the review, long may it bring you pleasure.

I've been here for a while, I know what the place is. But I'm not entirely sure how I'm shoving anything down your throats. I've made a point to not even post any links, I spoke to a moderator and was advised to put the link in my sig and mention it, so I do. Letting people know about a site is tough and so I try to do it in a non-invasive way, not sure how it degrades your experience when you can simply not click. But as I've discovered, in this thread at least, my opinion matters not one jot as I'm not good enough at the game.
i have no issue with you having the link, it's the near constant reference to it you make. plenty of people on this site are involved with these things, but you don't see everybody posting their entire reviews, do you? it's fine to present your opinion, but it's not really good for conversation if you say "i didn't like it, here's my review which can be found here".
the way you post, i see you come into a thread to make a post to refer people to your reviews. it's fine if that's your perogative, just know you are now on my ignore list. i don't come here to read reviews, because the vast majority of reviews (yours included) are dreadful. i come here for honest conversation.
if you could simply have a conversation without constantly selling your site and content, maybe we wouldn't have reacted so badly.

The Multiplayer is a lot of fun but god it is frustrating in Gang Wars when you are the only person on your team trying to cap a point and your entire team waits till there is 20 seconds left before making a move. Come on guys really? Get your ass out of the windows and take that shit!

Yeah its why I end up playing more TDM than gangwars when I'm solo, because at least in TDM being the biggity bomb can win your team the round.

I haven't yet touched multiplayer. I put... probably 150+ hours into Max Payne 2, so it's the single-player that interests me most. All the changes - so jarring at first! - end up being welcome friends. The speed of switching weapons, the new emphasis on the shoot dodge, and the level designs...
The first time I played through it, it almost felt like just another action game (with great production values) that happened to have bullet time and Max Payne in it. After beating it on hard mode, now playing through it on Old School, it's like every single shootout - every sequence, every set piece, every change of venue - becomes my favorite.
Max Payne 3 is like an all-time favorite album. You buy it for one song, but you end up listening to it so much that - at one time or another - every song is The Song.
