Co-Op for PS2

I've been here long enough to know these threads come out every other week, but I'd appreciate some suggestions for co-operative games for the PS2.
Anything goes, really, from beat-em-ups to full scale jrpgs. The playstation I'm using only ever sees two-man play, and I've gone through Tekken and PES to death. Small scale vs. games where gameplay input only amounts to 5 to 20 minutes is starting to get repetitive and boring, so I'm looking for something a little more long-term.
Thanks in advance.

I've never actually tried its co-op mode myself, but Gradius V has that option & since it's an awesome 1p shmup, I can't see it not being incredibly fun with 2 players.
If you and your friends like puzzle games, Bombastic has simultaneous 2-player play. It's co-op with a touch of versus competition, since you share a total score but have individual ones too (and can steal each other's combos).
As far as Beat-Em-Ups, The Warriors. Easily one of the best in the genre recently, co-op is just icing on the cake.
So does Marvel Ultimate Alliance suck for co-op play or has it just not been played by those in this thread? I've been wondering about it but haven't tried it out myself.
Oh, and here's a vote against X-Men Legends I, as the game annoyingly becomes solo play sporadically.
Also, if you can find a third person to play with, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is not so bad--but don't try it with only two people, it's unbearable.
