I am looking for some advice on finding new gaming friends. I have lived in NC for the last 5 years and was able to find a few friends to discuss and play video games with, but now I am being moved to a new job in New Orleans. I don't think I will have trouble finding some social friends but finding gaming friends has always proven challenging. Anyone have advice on how to find them? (Note: I am pretty average, not great at games, but I love playing and talking gaming with other people, specifically PC games are my first love but I am not too picky.)
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Gaming stores, lan centers, and college campuses are a good place to start. Most colleges have "lan nights" hosted by local enthusiasts and gaming clubs for all sorts of interests. Really all you have to do is put yourself in situations to talk with folk and then talk with folk. The rest comes naturally.
