It's funny, I was planning on buying Crush for a long, long time (Going all the way back to 2008) but by the time it hit a price that I considered reasonable Crush 3D was announced...may as well just wait for that at this point I guess.

I just want to know why Motorstorm RC launched in Europe but not in NA. I mean.. what could the reasoning possibly be behind that? Do they not like money?

The wallpaper on the Japanese store was full of PS1 games yesterday. Hopefully this means Vita is getting PS1 games rather than some kind of omen that Sony is going to pull all PS1 from the archives.

Same reason why Twisted Metal still isn't out in Europe. Evolution are British, so they can get it through SCEE quicker. Plus, the US just isn't important when it comes to Motorstorm. Europeans are basically the only ones that buy them, so they're the main reason why that series hasn't died already.

If anyone's interested in the old PS1 classic, Rival Schools, it's on the Japanese PSN. Apparently Capcom had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it on there, as a few of the companies they licensed from were dead. Who knows if they'll bother with any of the English releases, I'd guess not.

    Oh and thanks Mogs.

ok, so I haven't owned a console since my original playstation and I loved the poo out of MGS and FF7/8. Got to play MGS2 at a friends.

Now, I've got me a ps3 that my super amazing friend got me so we can play mw3 together (i REALLY wish console+pc could play together. thank you valve for cs;go) and I'm thinking I should catch up on some MGS! I have my original disc but caught wind of an HD re-release of 2,3, and 4. I found it on the zon but thought it'd be cool to download it.

Now I'm used to steam where I buy something and it's tied to my account. Does this happen with psn? so if my super loud ps3 dies at some point and I login on a new ps3 will I be able to redownload my ish? also I don't see the 'collection' on the psn just the separate games. Are these upped rez as well?

also - themes. I like the, well I guess it's called dynamic, theme but I really hate how the background is always changing. 1)why does the psn charge me for themes? 2)can I download free user created themes that don't suck? 3) where/how?

also - eagleeye. thoughts? cheaper way to do this?

also - any way to mount the image of a game I own to my HDD so as to load games faster and not have to listen to my ps3 always spinning the disc to load content?

thanks, hope this is the right thread.

All your purchases will be tied to your account forever. I had a ps3 in 2009 that I bought games on and then I sold it, bought another one late last year and signed right back in and got all my old games.

For themes use the PS3 browser and go to www.ps3-themes.com , there's a ton of free dynamic ones there, just click and download and it'll go right in your theme folder. There are NSFW ones there just FYI

    couple things

    1) maybe im just in Space Marine mode, having just finished Space Marine and all, but Kill Team is hella worth $5 for some ork blasting fun

    2) apparently sony is releasing Killzone 3's multiplayer for free this Tuesday, all maps included, with an optional $15 charge to raise the level cap to the full cap. so thats neat.

  • Options
    Unco-ordinatedUnco-ordinated NZRegistered User regular
Yeah, purchases are tied to your account but it's also worth pointing out that you can only download games to two PS3's max (so if you've downloaded one game to two systems, it won't run on a third system without deactivating one of the others). Same thing goes with handhelds actually and it's not just 2 PSP's and 2 Vita's, it's 2 handhelds total (so 2 PSP's, 2 Vita's or 1 PSP and 1 Vita). If you lose your system or it breaks, you can actually get around this by logging into the qriocity website (Sony's music thing) and deactivating all systems tied to that account, which will wipe the slate clean.

I don't believe MGS2, 3, PW or 4 have been released on the PSN though. They announced that they'd release them on it originally but it never happened so who knows. The only way to get them is by buying the retail versions of the HD Collection and MGS4. The only Metal Gear's on the PSN that I know of are the PSP ones and MGS1. In case you're wondering, PSP games won't run on your PS3, they're on the store so that you can buy them and then put them on a PSP/Vita.

As for themes, Allforce mostly covered that. The only time I ever really buy dynamic themes are when I want to show an extra little bit of support for the developer. Otherwise, stick with the free ones and the ones you'll probably get when buying some games (Sony ones in particular tend to bundle them in with pre-orders and Collectors Editions).

Not sure about Eagleeye. I believe there are a few products out there that do it but I've never really had any interest so wouldn't know.

The only way to mount images on the HDD is by hacking your PS3 and that's not recommended if you want to play new games (which tend to require the latest firmware) or keep accessing the PSN (as you may be banned).

The Drop! It is a thing.
    PlayStation Network

Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest (Full PS3 Digital / PS Move Support) – From the same team that brought you Sports Champions, one of the best selling Move titles, Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest is a fantasy, action adventure game that is played with PlayStation Move that uses a unique set of motion control functionality, allowing players to seamlessly transition between throwing projectiles, sword fighting and archery for an intuitive and immersive gameplay experience.

Killzone 3: Multiplayer – In the wake of Visari’s death, Helghan has devolved into a world of political scheming, rapid infighting, and murder. Now, the two most powerful men on Helghan are fighting for complete and utter dominance while Visari’s vision of Helghan is in jeopardy. With limited supplies and no re-enforcements, the ISA must now fight not to win a war, but to survive a lost one.

Storm – This is a puzzle game in which players grow seeds into trees by guiding them through nature-themed levels. Players can use wind, lightning, and rain to transport seeds past obstacles while reaching various checkpoints.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Full PS3 Digital) – To save his life, the fundamental choice of whether or not to become augmented with cybernetics has been removed from Adam Jensen’s life. Driven by the conviction of never having a choice taken from him again and using his newfound power, his need for answers will unravel the truth behind a conspiracy rooted in the foundation of the world around him as it incites a new revolution.

Primal – Primal lies in a dark, fantastical realm between the mortal world and the afterlife, where an eternal struggle between order and chaos rages. Abaddon (Chaos) has tired of his personal conflict with Arella (Order) and is breaking the rules. It’s up to you, as half-demon Jennifer Tate, to team up with Scree the Living Gargoyle to bring Abaddon down and set things right again. Boasting state-of-the-art motion captured animation, advanced AI routines, and integrated cutscenes, Primal offers players four diverse realms and four unique demon forms to toy with. The ability to switch between Screen and Jen on the fly should prove invaluable for solving puzzles and the dynamic loading technology keeps disc access to a minimum.

Pretty normal stuff. I think the most unique element here is the Killzone 3 Multiplayer offer. From what I understand, it's the multiplayer aspect of the game stripped from the Single-Player portion as a stand-alone title. It'll be free to download and play to a certain level (what level that is, I don't know) and if you want to advance beyond that, it's $15 to unlock that. Or I imagine you might be able to just grab the game on disk somewhere if you like it; I imagine the MP profile would carry over. It's apparently covered in the blogcast Here, but I'm gonna be honest and say I can't be assed to watch that and instead used Joystiq's article about it here.

Persona 2 finally coming to the Aus/NZ stores is noteworthy. Though I won't be able to buy it for a couple of weeks anyway, which is probably when I'll buy Trails in the Sky as well.

I really wish free PS+ games would let you buy them for a discount as well. Some games I'm fine with, as I wouldn't buy them separately but there are some games I'd prefer to have regardless of whether I have PS+.

Oh and Diarmuid, you got a few of those PSP price drop prices wrong. They're all (£7.99/€9.99/AU$15.95). Still way too expensive for Ubisoft PSP games though.

Fixed those prices. The changes in how the PS blog post was formatted were quite frankly a pain in the ass to translate into something readable over here, so I'm not surprised there are some mistakes on my part. So, if anyone spots anything that looks wrong let me know.

I saw this and was like "Oh, heh, I guess they switched things around a bit again."

    Then I saw the post.

    I fucking hate both blogs.

I really like the new format actually. Sure it's a lot harder to copy and paste but it's a lot easier to read. The columns let me look through everything quickly, checking prices and what didn't get released here (which for once, didn't happen this update, we got everything).

Let it be known that I'm celebrating Diarmuid's efforts by stealing them wholesale. I tried tweeking the formatting that was from the post itself and none of the spacing took, so, yeah, I'm not fussing with it anymore.

Thanks for setting that up, man.

Seems the unlock key for the Killzone multiplayer has failed to materialise on the PAL store.
SCEE say they'll fix that "as soon as possible"

edit: And it has been fixed.

Hey hey hey kiddos, time for The Drop.

The game is action-packed from start to finish, including loads of new lessons, spells, and bonus content for hours of family friendly gaming.

    PlayStation Network

MotorStorm RC (Also for PS Vita) – High-speed radio-controlled car racing hits the MotorStorm circuit in MotorStorm RC! PS3 Demos

    MotorStorm RC
Start the Party: Save the World
    Hustle Kings
    Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13

Unit 13 hits the Playstation Vita in a hopefully more optimized fashion than the demo would have us believe (unless they fixed the crashing and such?) as well as MLB '12 The Show which is also on PS3. Aside from that, it's a fairly light week.

Hm, I cannot sign in to PSN anymore. It is telling me that I can't sign in with a sub account unless the master account approves. I am the master account. I have never made a sub account. Nor have I ever had this problem before.

Here is what the error says:
You must ask the holder of the associated master account to help you sign in.

    <note to parent or guardian>
For the sub account holder to sign in, you must accept the Terms of Service / User Agreement and Privacy Policy again using your master account.

Okay, uh, how do I do that. I mean I just got around to downloading the latest patch and agreed to this like an hour ago. Not to mention that I have never made a sub account in the first place.
