Simone is doing a really fantastic job of getting in Barbara's head and feeling out just how she is after this miraculous recovery. I don't think she wanted Barbara back on her feet like many other people, but she's reclaiming an editorial decision and turning it into something magnificent.
I like Batwoman, but I get her series in trade because Elegy definitely felt to me like if I had read it as singles, I wouldn't have liked it nearly as much. Also I actually prefer those comics to Batwoman, so there is that.
yeah I pretty much want to support women in comics/women as the subjects of comics so I was sold before the word go
Myself as well, and I even tried the first couple of Gail's Batgirl issues, but I just can't get past the Oracle thing, so I dropped it. Negative interest in Babs-Batgirl, Steph is my homegirl.
I'm nervous about the Earth-2 characterization of Huntress in World's Finest, but her mini is so awesome that I'll give it a fair shake.

Eh, it's still Levitz and he's setting it up pretty well in the mini. Actually, thinking about it, I'm not sure what's left for the last issue of Huntress to do. Should be interesting.

Edit: since I haven't seen it mentioned before, does anyone other than me read the new Birds of Prey? I thought I'd be disappointed but I rather like it.

I'm on the Batgirl bandwagon. Started picking it up because my wife wanted it, but I'd leave it on my pull list even if she lost interest at this point.
I really started digging it when I realized Simone was taking the classic hero origin story (dude's family is killed by criminals; see also: Batman, Punisher, etc etc etc) and turning it on its head to give us a super-villain instead. At one point it made me think that Mirror's reaction to the tragedy was probably a lot more realistic than Bruce Wayne's or Frank Castle's.

Did you read #6 yet? She took that to a whole new level with Gretel.

No! by the time I got to my LCS last night to pick up my stack, they'd sold out. Mea culpa, I hadn't officially added it to my pull yet. A mistake that is now rectified.

well I wish you luck getting a copy because it tied together a bunch of stuff - the Nightwing appearance, Gretel at large, Barbara and Bruce, just a ton.

Yeah, it took me over 2 months to find a Batgirl #3 around here. I was worried it was going to be another G.I. Joe #2.
I got him confused with Talent Caldwell for a moment
But think about it, Top Cow artist on BoP would be perfect for sales
How so?

Is that what Top Cow's famous for?
That said, one of the really good things about the current Birds of Prey run is that it has been very not-cheesecake. Excepting all the goddamn David Finch tree covers.
Jesus Saiz is moving to Res Man for the Res/Suicide Squad crossover, while Dagnino from Res Man is moving to Suicide Squad.
It seems like they're arbitrarily switching artists up for no real reason, unless they're sitting on a major art snipe to announce for Animal Man later on.
Well, that makes sense that Lemire would want to work with Delano's regular artist if his series is mainly inspired by Delano's run.
At the same time, Foreman kind of defined this run in my mind and made it really modern and creepy at the same time. I am not as big on revisiting the past as some of these dudes are, especially the editors, but if this was a Lemire idea and not a DC editorial idea I can live with it.
On the other hand, Jesus Saiz is awesome and worked really well for what I saw of Birds of Prey. Maybe I will have to go catch up on that series, which is probably one of the best drawn in comics at this point. And I know the writer is pretty good as well.
I think Travel Foreman is probably more suited for Birds of Prey than Animal Man, honestly. At least, that seems more typical of the kind of stuff he draws. But i'll miss him on A-Man.

I really don't see the reason in doing any of this rotating stuff.
I remember a few years back reading something from Rags Morales, before he became so slow that he broke my heart, that he needed six to eight issues on a book to get in a groove for drawing characters/designs/collaborating with the writer, and once all of that settled he could become much faster and need less lead-in time. All of these rather meaningless switches from book to book really put artists in a tough spot in that sense, not to mention just messing with the artistic style on the book. Foreman on Animal Man worked well, and while I have nothing against Pugh, I wasn't really beating down the door to see him draw Buddy again.

Yeah- i'm wondering what the impetus was for these artistic changes. There seems to be no reason- unless the artists themselves wanted to change things up?

Why the fuck would you change the animal man art what the shit

Unless things are just McDaniel and Rozum all over the place, I would imagine being in a stable book would benefit everyone.
This is almost certainly a case where DC or Lemire asked Pugh to come back and do Animal Man, and then they had to shuffle artists around to keep everyone working.
I wonder if they let Foreman pick his replacement book, or if they just shuffled a few places around. Did Suicide Squad even have a regular artist before now? I remember that was one of the books with rotating artists at the beginning.

Which was baaaad (IMO)
So thinks could have changed in which case: great!
But really I already get a lot of books and I don't care that much about Babs so probably not going to pick that up
But I aint got the cash to buy just any series with a woman in it just because I support women in comics
Especially when Supergirl, Wonder Woman and Huntress books already exist, and I actually enjoy those comics a lot
turn in your everything card right now, you're off the case
also the front page of Huntress #5 made me really sad that To isn't following Levitz' to World's Finest
to say nothing of the climax
I'm nervous about the Earth-2 characterization of Huntress in World's Finest, but her mini is so awesome that I'll give it a fair shake.

But they don't specify whether or not he is off of Animal Man
I need him to be working on Animal Man though
I don't

Or really anything else, for that matter
Does anything know if Nicola Scott is doing any comics right now?
And
Is she a DC exclusive artist?
It seems like they're arbitrarily switching artists up for no real reason, unless they're sitting on a major art snipe to announce for Animal Man later on.
She's doing Earth 2, and she is still DC Exclusive.
Edit: She is also doing George Perez's Superman right now
As for exclusive, no clue
Steve Pugh, an old Animal Man artist whose work I have never seen, will be taking over the title with issue 9.
I guess that's a snipe? Maybe?
Now I'm just kind of bummed out.
At least the art on that Earth-2 series will be good
And it looks like Foreman is still doing covers, so thats good.
It could have been a lot worse.
