Jim Lee's whole style of ridiculous muscles and having them print through clothes is ridiculous. His figures are really static and stiff, his stylized anatomy makes zero sense, he is simultaneously over-detailed and lazy.

I liked the first arc of Justice League well enough but Bruce pulling of his mask and revealing himself to these dudes he just met meanwhile Flash and Green Lantern have theirs intact was really goddamn stupid
Yeah. I guess the idea was supposed to be Batman realizes he needed a big gesture to get GL to do what he asked but it felt pretty weird.
Then when he jumps back out of the portal Cyborg opened he just has the thing again. What does he carry extra?
Hmm, I guess I read the "Batman takes off his mask" thing sort of differently.
For some reason, I assumed it was because he wanted a Parademon to come by and drag him away to the tower like it would a normal citizen. If the parademon saw a guy in a mask and a cape, he'd register it as "one of those guys we'd been fighting" and attack, instead of carrying him off with no extra precautions. Thus why Batman removed the symbol on his chest too.
GL being there was just a consequence of the immediate surroundings, I thought. Get in the grand gesture as icing.
Not really sure why I thought it was all that, since nothing explicitly spells that out, but that was how I read it the first time.
Man, that fills in so many blanks.
Thank you. I got that he was trying to pep Hal by showing him they all needed to step up, and that they all had more in common than they think, but I totally did not get the bat symbol thing at all.
That also explains why(but not how) his bat symbol disappears and makes that scene pretty good. It's also probably the subtlest thing in that comic.
Am I interpreting the whole "I am the Internet" thing differently? Because it seems to me that Brainiac offered the person who created the internet a similar deal to Luthor or otherwise got the information to people and then made sure he could access it and maybe manipulate it a bit.
And the idea that a being that collects all the worlds information and then destroys the planet might trick each world into creating a repository for all knowledge seems like a good idea.

So I'm thinking the last four pages of Huntress #6 were completely redone new once World's Finest was announced. I also wonder if that means Power Girl is Earth-2's Supergirl.
Oh, and it also means that the entire series shipped with nothing but lies for solicits.
And the idea that a being that collects all the worlds information and then destroys the planet might trick each world into creating a repository for all knowledge seems like a good idea.
What I found interesting about that whole bit is that Brainiac says that he records a world's culture, and for that purpose he was the Internet. To me, that suggests that Morrison thinks that the Internet is one of the destinations of culture; I find that interesting because I think of that Internet as being a source of culture. Without a doubt, we enter our knowledge, opinions, gossips, trends, and so on into the Internet, but the Internet - by virtue of connecting people who wouldn't otherwise be connected - processes that, re-combines it, and creates brand new material from it. Some of that material only makes sense in the context of the Internet, or, indeed, can only exist on the Internet. If Brainiac intended to be a disimpassioned observer, then he screwed up, because - just like Uatu - he interfered and changed the course of human culture.

It has to be deliberate. Morrison is self aware enough to notice that change.

Maybe Kal-El will talk a computer (Brainiac) to death, Capt. Kirk-style, and that will be his grand argument.
I actually came late to the Action Comics game, but I'm enjoying it.

I was under the impression that it was mostly confirmed already?
The first issue also includes Helena Wayne as Robin, and Karen Starr as Supergirl, before they somehow end up on the main DCU Earth as Huntress and Power Girl (as seen in the current Huntress mini-series and May's World's Finest).

Yeah that really clears things up. I just saw Batman stripping and running off and went wtf.

That still doesn't make sense though. Out of the seven superheroes the Parademons were fighting (Flash, Aquaman, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Cyborg), only two of them wear capes (Batman and Superman) and only three wear masks (Green Lantern, Flash, and Batman).
I super don't have time to make a nice new OP, and I'm trying not to read much of the last page after having my precious OMAC spoiled (I'm out of the house for 14-18 hours a day, 6 days a week, so don't tell me I should have already read it!).
Someone else gets to make the new OP. Make it special, and better than mine (won't be difficult).
All I ask is that you show dear OMAC some love, and don't trash Earth 2 until it comes out and is terrible.

Mememememe!
I will do it before bed tonight. I want a GV OP of my very own.

Sorry about that. I tried to be vague, but I guess I did let some stuff slip.
Incidentally, I was thinking about Earth-2 some more, and you know what I would have rather had? Earth-3.
I think a big playground of evil-twins and heroic-doubles, set in a world where evil won, would be ripe for fun stories. You could even have two concurrently running books, one with the Justice Legion, and one with the Crime Syndicate of America.
Plus, I think it would provide something of a clearer delineation between the alternate universe, and the normal universe. So far, Earth-2 seems to be the Earth where some bad shit happened, which is kind of vague. Earth-3 would just be the Earth where everything's backwards, which is a pretty simple idea to explain to any layman.
I get the feeling a new thread will appear as soon as I ask this, but here goes anyway.
I'm getting back into comics on a budget. It's been a while since I've kept anything now, but DC-wise I was reading Superman and Green Lantern and their related side series up until right about when Blackest Night started. I'm hoping to start both up again starting with the reboot, and possibly throwing some Batman into the mix. What side comics could be considered the weak links in these? I know I'll at least need Action Comics, Superman, Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Batman, and Detective Comics, but there's a whole lot of other stuff on the side now. Particularly curious about Supergirl and Superboy and if there's some stand out Bat-comics. Red Lanterns doesn't seem particularly interesting.
Come to think of it, also curious about Justice League, but it seems like a safe bet. At least for the first story arc which I believe is a prologue of sorts for the whole new 52 thing?

The way you said that I'm picturing an actual tiger stabbing someone.

I had to Google who that was.
Oh my, safe search got turned off right quick.
