As the resident Gears fanboy, I'd like to point out that the Locust are not aliens and are in fact, as far as anyone knows, native to the world of Sera just like humanity is. I mean, what's next, calling the Gears "space marines?"

The joke is that Gabe is complaining about spoilers, then he describes a bunch of things that happen in every Gears game and are completely unrevealing. The punchline is between panels two and three when the reader realizes what Gabe expresses in panel three: "Oh, it's probably fine."

the story in gears of war games has never actually mattered in any capacity and therefore worries about spoilers are silly

I love the story in Gears.

As shoot em ups go, I can't really think of a comparable game, at all.
