hatch first is entirely fine against 1base play. You are just doing it badly. I used to exclusively 1base all-in against Zergs who would hatch first, just gambling on their inability to defend. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not work, they would defend well.
Losing to a 1base all-in is independent of whether you go hatch first or not, it is all down to simply how you defend.
You just have to keep scouting their natural-- and if your opponent isn't expanding in a timely fashion, he is saving up for a big 1-base push. At that point, you need to start preparing for said 1-base push.

I want to put together a Starcraft computer, anybody build recently and have any nice resources or dealios?
I am not a techy guy, but the one thing that I do know is that if it is specifically for Starcraft 2, you can make sacrifices in graphics processing in order to get a beastly CPU, because SC2 is mostly reliant on CPU for a lot of its graphical effects.

The MP and SP are like two different worlds. SP made my laptop bleed yet ran MP like a dream.

i come off overly harsh in this post, i apologise
but hatch first is totally viable at all levels of play, you just have to get used to doing it and know what you need to be afraid of.
the thing about speedling expand - while it is a very safe opening against a lot of things - it is very inefficient if you intend to make any other t1 unit except speedlings. You've spent this gas on ling speed, and delayed your expansion to get it - to then immediately go roaches is very wasteful. A hatch first, however, is flexible. you can add gas immediatelyt after the hatch and go for fast ling speed, or you can add a slower gas and go for roaches. So many zerg players I see go speedling expand, and only ever make 6-8 speedlings and then go right into something like roaches and its like - why did you spend that 100 gas on something you weren't going to use?

You don't need an extreme beast of a machine to play at Ultra settings, so the "tier 3" hardware from the guide that Mastman posted would be perfect. I ran SC2 on Ultra at 1680x1050 with a Core i3 530 (2.93 GHz), 4 gigs of RAM and a Radeon HD 4890. (I say "ran" because I now have a Geforce GTX 560, since my Radeon's fan died for the second time.)
Do you already have a monitor? What's is its maximum resolution? That will help you decide on the graphics card.
For CPU, go intel. i3 for saving a buck, i5 if you want to get the best bang for your buck. For SC2 you don't need more than 2 cores, so don't bother with 4 or 8 core BS. An i3 with 2 real 2 virtual cores will be plenty for SC2.
RAM you'll do fine with 4GB. The more the better but who knows your price range.

Question - I was playing a melee custom against some dude on Shattered Temple, and at 1:49 in the game, it just ended and said my opponent was victorious. Is that a hack or something?

1920x1080.
go with the i5 2500K, and a GTX460 or 560, depending on budget, and then build the rest of the system around that.
Basically dropships and neural do not mix, either moving neuraled units into them or neuraling dropships with them inside.
I was able to neural an empty dropship and load units before the animation connected; they were trapped inside until the spell ended.
I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.

it seems like a really quick way to kill 10 food that I never thought of before
however, I can't imagine what level of blunder includes 'flying dropship over infestors' because that usually means you're also 'flying dropship over zerg army'

You cannot NP an occupied dropship. A NPed dropship cannot be used to load or unload units. NPed units cannot be loaded into your own dropships.
Units in a dropship hit in the split-second timing of an airborne NP tentacle launched before the ship began to load are stuck until the NP ends, at which point they return to their original owner's control.

According to pingtest I currently have 88% packet loss to a server in San Francisco.
That is amazing, hahaha. Look at that eating micro.

I gotta say, Dragon does Player Cams Right.

the thing that Dragon understands and that a lot of other streamers don't seem to, is that it is only worth having a player cam if you are going to do something interesting on it.Viewers aren't interested in seeing some average looking dude playing videogames. They can see that anywhere. They want something funny or entertaining, which is what Dragon provides and what players like IdrA do not.

One last thought, is the new AMD Bulldozer chips worth waiting for? I heard they were coming out shortly.
And what happens to units already inside.

This makes me so happy to see.
It's a retard magnet, Kyle!
Normally I'd frown on something like this but Blizzard doesn't give a fuck about stream cheaters, so fuck them.

So.
Thats pretty fucking shit.
Considering all Australians are thieves, they're probably being stolen by your fellow countrymen on the way back.
By beating a Bronze player.
This is just great on a basic comedic level as well.
'Anytime Deezer's online, wake me up and I'll help spam him out.'
'Yeah, I'm playing him now.'
'So he's online now?'
fucking deezer.
Put that steak to use!
