Hi gang,
Pretty much what the title says. I have been looking for new work off and on since March or so, there was a dry period over the summer when I went to visit family, but that was a slow job posting time anyway so I don't feel like too much of a slacker. I am still employed but hate my current job more and more all the time, and I want something more in tune with my future life goals.
Since late July or thereabouts I have been searching with more gusto- casting out a bigger net by applying for more jobs, putting more time into my cover letters, etc. I'm pretty happy with my resume and I've got a good cover letter patter, that's not my problem. On a productive week I throw out about a dozen resumes, and for every 12 resumes I usually get at least one interview. Once I even got a second interview. I could be doing a lot worse. But I still don't have a new job.
What can I do to be better at interviewing? I'm having a really hard time assessing how well I come across. I dress nice, put on a little makeup, and research the company before I go. I try to think up good questions and ways in which my experience is relevant. I always send a followup email the day of or the day after. Is there something else I could be doing to knock it out of the park?
Next week I have an interview with a jewelry store in a lovely neighborhood not too far from my house. The job is full time and gives benefits after three months. I am super jazzed that they even contacted me. I want to smite this interview with my overwhelming awesomeness. Help me, H/A!

Also, it is entirely possible that people are interviewing but not hiring. Its a weird economy.
