I think you'll be looking at video game soundtracks for most of this. There are a few trance/ambient artists that come close, although I'd have to dig through my collection to find relevant examples.
Thanks Riale, that's exactly the sort of stuff I was looking for (particularly the PSO tracks).
@bwanie - I did have a look on youtube, but nothing I could find had quite the synthetic sound and style of harmonic progression I was looking for, though my search was by no means extensive.
Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll definitely keep looking under those genres (and "thumping bass" was probably a bit of an exaggeration, heh).
