He was looking for Zelda ... so that he could get her and Link together to do some Triforce magic ... for some purpose, possibly evil since he's Ganon but on the other hand WW's Ganon seemed like an alright dude so maybe not ... I mean, I *liked* Wind Waker Ganon, he's definitely my favorite Ganon, but there were way too many gaps in that game's backstory and world for it to even enter into my consciousness as a cohesive world, rather than a transparent overlay for a kinda cool gameplay concept.
Its the same Ganon as every other Zelda.
In WW Ganon wants his wish on the tri -force. He needs Zelda and and a Link to do it. Did you miss his speech about why he wanted to rule Hyrule? His motives are pretty clear.

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
The magic backpack vacuum really annoys me - weird since I didn't have a problem with the gust jar in Minish cap. It just seems more like custom made real vacuum in order to look like it was made from primitive materials, while the gust jar is just that - and magic.
"There don't seem to be any more "equip items" beyond the core: eight: Bug Net, Slingshot, Beetle, Bombs, Bow, Whip, Gust Bellow, and Double Clawshots. Obviously there are other items that you don't equip in this way like the Sailcloth and the Digging Gloves, however, and this sure as hell doesn't take upgrades into account. Rather than items, they're focusing on game density."
I will say this: I can live without the thing I mentioned up there because other items sort of act like it, but if we don't get a magic wand I will be seriously disappointed.
Okay so I've thought about it and I could live without a magic wand

you get to literally cast magic by waving your sword around in certain patterns. Like beyond the beam shot, if you hold your sword aloft and then draw a figure 8, you can shoot fire, or lightning with an zigzag pattern, or whatever. Just make it happen, Nintendo.

Interesting. It's ok though, I can live without the item overload. It seems items were given and forgotten in TP, so fewer means more instances of use.

I am sad at the no boomerang though. abloo abloo.
:P
The boomerang is now steerable and it's a beetle instead.
So I guess we don't have a boomerang this time. But what we get instead is more advaaaanced!
Well, I read the Iwata asks and I think ZI misreported. The interview doesn't say there's only 8 equipable items at all. So there could well be a magic wand.
It does basically say there's no boomerang though. It's indeed a beetle now, and the mecha beetle idea led to the backstory about an ancient technological civilization. MAYBE THERE WILL BE A MAGIC SPACE STATION AFTER ALL

I'll laugh a bit if they sci fi Zelda and make it where most of what happens is actually SCIENCE!
Although a mechanical beetle is so rad sounding I cannot help but love it.
The coolest thing about that interview is when Iwata is like "Are you sure we should be revealing this?" and Aonuma says "It doesn't matter because there's so much other new stuff in this game." Also:
"Compared to previous Zelda games, we were able to pack in so many kinds of play that it practically bears no comparison."
@Uncle, yes TP's ring expanded. And it was annoying and hard to use.
From the interviews and other coverage I am getting the sense that SS's ring menu *won't* expand to more than 8 slots ... but you might be able to store additional items you're not using in Skyloft.
Fi can analyze your equipment before you embark on a mission and tell you how "optimized" it is for a given place. Which strongly implies that you'll have to choose which items to take and which ones to leave behind. Which is awesome, imo.

Bastion featured a limited, prepared inventory system that you settled with for a level.
I'm curious how they'll handle the item limit. Allow you to hold 1 item more than the "limit" until returning to home base? They have to allow you to pick up additional items, but you wouldn't want a system that can be abused to hold EVERY item.
Good question ... assuming of course there are more than 8 equipable items in the game.
Maybe the later items are encased in the magic blocks and you have to send them up to the sky to get them? Apparently there's a treasure hunting system that works like this—find the blocks on the surface, use sword magic, and treasure chests appear in the sky.
The idea of a limited amount of equipable items is interesting. I really liked how the item boxes from the Resident Evil remake worked and the kinds of decisions that it would force you to make. Plus anymore Link does carry a fuckton of stuff, so it makes sense.
Link's various battle cries in this game sound weirder than usual. Like one of them sounds like he's asking the monster a question in some kind of baby language.
The clerk told me they're only going to order the amount to fill the pre-orders. It is supposedly limited, but then again I saw the Xenoblade + CC bundle on shelves weeks after the release, so stores may feel inclined to cheat and order more than there are pre-orders. It is a collector's edition after all, so they're bound to sell. Personally, I don't have Motion Plus (nor technically a controller) and I get a bitchin' Triforce cap and an orchestrated album for pre-ordering, so hey, why not?
Just so I'm sure on the matter, the only difference between the normal and special edition is the gold Wii Remote+ right? Both include the game and soundtrack. No extras like an artbook or anything, right?

@Absalon, yes it's the gold version. I don't know if non-US Amazons still have it. I ordered mine from Gamestop so I could pick it up and play it on Nov 20 and I hope to god Gamestop doesn't screw me.
@MNC, I haven't heard anything about the normal edition coming with the soundtrack. My understanding:
• $70—includes gold* motion plus wiimote and soundtrack CD
• $50—just the game
*not real gold

I know I was just saying that I thought TP had item overload, but I'm kind of pissed that I know about every single item in this game already.

And Bastion be tight. Homes.
The different tactics and upgrade trees between the slingshot and the bow in SS remind me of the different ranged weapons in Bastion.

Terrifying.
Never thought of Link as a Yorkshire boy.
The shifty eyes when sidling along a ledge take it for me.

Something like a quarter of the Tri packages where with the CC. I don't think it is going to be super rare.
That's the ltd. edition with the gold Wiimote+, right?
Now I am very glad I got it preordered. Or is it just Amazon in the US?
