Midna's Lament sounds extremely cool on guitar. I already liked that music in the game but it actually gave me a better appreciation for just how well composed it is. The Hidden Village theme is also very good of course. Too bad Kakariko's music wasn't thrown in there or the metal compilation I posted a few pages back though.
You bastard...you saw that link in Reddit too, didn't you?
That just reaffirms how suggestive this show was. How many other self-labeled children's cartoons feature the male hero literally pouncing on his sexy love interest while resting on his bed?
Really shows that Zelda should have been the one saying the "well, excuuuuuuse me" tagline as well.

The ONM review apparently gives a 98/100 score, calls it best Zelda ever.
Mmmhm.
Although, the reviewer also states the main quest was about 35 hours, and then double that if you do everything else. Well, that sounds kinda bitchin', but perhaps that player is more meandering and slow than the average.
Also, heads up for any reports from Edge subscribers, who are about to get the latest issue, featuring an SS review, very soon (the issue hits newsstands on the 25th).

to be fair, every nintendo game reviewed by onm is the best thing ever.

A NeoGaf poster is saying that he has a friend working at Future Publishing that has no reason to lie, and is saying Edge is going to give SS a 10/10, something TP, MM or WW did not receive. We should be able to verify that pretty soon, hopefully before the weekend even.
ZI also said that 98/100 is the highest score ever given by that magazine (tied with OoT)
I am very excited by this talk of a diverse and constantly surprising array of locations. Edit: the magazine is unclear but I get the sense that there will in fact be more than 8 items. That would be nice.
is there any news on how the overland will play? what ive read so far seems to suggest the sky world is like WW and the land world is more like metroid, one giant dungeon.
That's basically in line with what I've read. People have compared the surface to a big dungeon, with the actual temples and such as nested dungeons-within-dungeons. But they've also called areas of the surface open and spread out.
It does not seem likely that the individual areas of the surface are connected to each other.
That's just from the first 8 hours, though. This new review seems to suggest that there are some surprises in store.

From what I've seen their reviews are actually pretty fair and mostly in line with other review scores for 1st party games, if not maybe a little higher. 98/100 being their highest review also means that they have never given a perfect score, which is something that has become fairly commonplace among many other outlets now.
I'm anxious to see how the Game Revolution review goes as they gave Twilight Princess a B+ in the face of a fair amount of criticism.

Even if there are only 8 items, it does seem quite likely that there will be several upgrades for each. I could live with a smaller inventory if it means that the items are more generically useful (For example, Bombchu and Bombs are pretty much the same item, so if that's combined into just Bombs I'm okay with that).
But there has never been a *gesture-controlled* wand in a game.
Seeing as the difference between a wand and a gun in real life is that you can just point and shoot a gun but you have to wave a wand around a certain way to cast certain spells, it's an important distinction.

Oh, it could be fun, but if it's not in I imagine like a certain other classic item; play test just didn't bear it out. It's just not something that excites me much, and the above is the reason I could see it not working out.

Just curious, have they started pre-orders on the edition with the gold Wiimote yet? Amazon says they don't have any available, except from several random resellers charging $200 or so apiece. I haven't missed my chance, have I?

I put my pre-order in at Lamestop (omg did you see what I did there?) just last week. I have a feeling that even without a pre-order you won't have a hard time finding that bundle. Every big release seems to have an abundance of their "special editions" long after launch, either because they didn't sell through or they just keep making them and they're not that special or limited.

No HD graphics, same game from 13 years ago, inaccurate waggle, no trophies, no cheevos, no online leaderboards, no mature boobies or gun fights.

I'm not British, and I'm not even sure if you're being serious, but according to Wikipedia it's a wrench.

I would assume it was a gay slur but for the fact that it's the official Nintendo magazine.
Well... there's also this. Possible NSFW, dunno

Pitting those bastardized Pokemon against Link would be so unfair.

Speaking of which! has anyone found the full text of the review online yet?
