So Newegg has this for $12 off with promo code EMCYTZT796, am I likely to get a better price anywhere or should I pull the trigger?
KMART will have a $20 off you next gaming purchase voucher with it when it comes out opening week, but that would involve going to the store and whatnot.
Also I think walmart should have a gift card deal soonish
At least you can leave and join new squads if your current squad is too horrible for you
Not really, your pretty much tethered to that squad unless you hit leave/join/leave/join 50 times till it finally cycles you to a different squad.
Oh and good luck joining a game with a squad of 4 and being all on the same team and still in the same squad.
My troupe actually managed to make a 4 man squad today, it took some work though. Getting 2 guys into the same squad is usually easy, there aren't that many squads with spots open. Getting the others in is tricky though, usually we leave any squad that isn't our "main" and wait until our team fills up. If there's still a vacancy in our own squad we get to instajoin it. If you're lucky you can even talk people into leaving your troupes squad to open up slots.
I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but tac lights aren't this bright during the day in real life.
Not to mention the fact that the intensity of light is an inverse square of its distance from you, but in this game they're pretty much the same brightness at any distance.
(it's not a reality simulator)
And I gotta say I have never been blinded from a long distance by these lights. At longer distances they're just enormous indicators that reveal the enemy
If it's so completely unrealistic, then what is the justification for it then? It certainly doesn't make the game more enjoyable.
It doesn't blind you, but it can completely obscure the person using the tac light.
Which is the whole point of it. It's a tactical light. It's used to obscure you and your squad so the enemy have a harder time putting bullets in you
No. No.
Tac lights are used to illuminate dark rooms when you're clearing them with your squad, and even then that is only for when they provide better visibility than the NODs you'll be wearing because you only use tac lights at night.
You asked what the justification for the light was in the game and I just gave you it. It's a tactical addon for your gun which adds depth to the gameplay. I personally enjoy it a lot and I don't suffer much at the end of it either
I'm sorry, If you catch a light like that directly in the eyes, it hurts, I have one at work. It's not as bad during the day, but still quite unpleasant. They are obscenely bright. They also have an option to flash crazily, that's incredibly disorienting in low light situations, I wish That were an option.
I've never been effected by one in game at more than like 5 or 10 feet.
I haven't played a Battlefield game since 2, so this beta has been a really great experience for me. Once I picked up the Defib, I was completely hooked. Doesn't hurt that it runs incredibly well and looks gorgeous on my slightly aging PC (Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, GTX 460). Signed up for the 102nd. Origin name is Bulwark955. Hope to see some PA games soon.

I've got an LED 4 D-cell maglite like the cops use. That thing will fucking blind you if you stare into it. There are lights that are that bright, but the BF3 lights are kind of like a more powerful sun attached to a gun.

They are still bright during the day yes, but not nearly as bright as the ones in game.
I'm not sure how servers for this work, but could this possibly allow for the return of Caspian Border? Because I'm tired of Operation Meatgrinder. I want to go back to hunting some tanks.

Taranis served in the military, I believe, so I believe him over the rest of you when it comes to "realism"
So did I. So feel free to believe whatever you want.
What was your MOS?
Well, my point is that you would look away, if one was aimed at you. As this is a video game, and not that bright, they made their effect to be as impairing to vision, instead of hurting your eyes and looking away, you just cant see him.
I was more interested in the fact that a Caspian Border server came up. Note that it's owned by battlefieldo, a site that is supposed to announce a surprise tomorrow at a community event.

What does the little robot that engies get do? Or T-UGS for recons?
The robot can kill people, and plant bombs.
The T-UGS is a sound based motion detector. It beeps when people are nearby. Its pretty fucking useless.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

Just played some on 360 so now I've played on all 3 platforms. No one is really missing out, it's pretty great across the board.
It dawned on me that what EA needs to do with this battlelog thing is allow for rank/unlocks/etc to be available across platforms. All 3 of my soldiers on the different platforms show up there, why not make it aggregate into one soldier?
They could potentially sell me 2 extra copies as I have friends across all 3 platforms and a lot of my console friends can't afford a PC to play this well. I'm the one with disposable income here.

I want a game mode where everyone uses the remote MAVs and the engineering robots. The robots will have to be fitted with surface-to-air explosive darts to balance them against the MAVs.

The MAVs have no attack, though.

Oh, I thought they would be like the UAVs from BC2.
Give the MAVs a rocket launcher.
Or give the robots jump jets and just have them ram each other.

Nothing will carry over if I had to guess.
Do suppressors/Flash suppressors work well? And I suppose you won't use a scope with a suppressed bolt action because it will give you away anyhow?
I don't use a scope with anything

hmmmmm
Okay, this trumps the 128 I found.
It's Conquest. The Metro Conquest map is huuuuuuuge.
11B. Poor bloody infantry.
Served a few years in 101st. A year in Korea in the JSA.
edit: Oh nevermind, it explains this shit in the customization menu.
What is so special about this picture? I see a 32 person Metro server.
