When I was younger I remember being so excited when I found out about Murkrow because I like crows and spooky things and it was a dark type crow pokemon.
But I quickly figured out that its stats were shitty to the post of being completely unusable. I was bummed about that for the longest time.
And then Gen IV came out with Honchkrow, and it was like, oh that dark crow pokemon? It's now a mobster too.

Back when I was played Fire Red, I soft reset my game like 20 times until Zapdos had really good speed and special attack IVs when I caught him, because Zapdos is my favorite pokemon.

Eviolite is a pretty great thing. Gives underdog pokemon a fighting chance.
