I can't actually explain how I can justify buying PC games on Steam that I already own just to not bring out the disks, yet my knee jerk reaction to spending $10 on another copy of God Hand just to avoid setting up the PS2 was that it is a ridiculous notion.
Oh well, hypocrisy found. I'll more than likely grab Odin Sphere, and if they did something crazy like let these be compatible with the Vita the way PSone Classics are compatible with the PSP I would just have to start throwing money at all of them.
At least you recognise you have a fault in your thinking man. So many people never realise this.
So, if I have a japanese ps3, I probably wont be able to run the english god hand will I? And buying the japanese one will be an ordeal. An ordeal I will accomplish. I know the game well enough that I don't need to read any of the text anymore, I'll just recognise the move by its animation in the menu.

I'm not a big JRPG guy. But I've never played Odin Sphere...

I was so disappointed that I couldn't record my ps2 with my spankin hd recorder I bought. Once I figure out how to digitally transplant god hand goodness onto my ps3 that problem will go away. So fucking excited.

I've rebought games on steam to ditch physical copies before. My price point for doing so is usually $5... $10 would be too much, but with a 20% PS+ discount we get to $8 and now we're in the territory that I start having to do some complex math to figure out whether I'll buy or not.
Then again, PSN is still kind of on my shitlist from the outage.
id be more excited if these had trophies and stuff, but theres definitely some great games already announced. i might drop some dollars on some of these.
As someone who never got to experience Odin Sphere, but was highly interested at the time, I will definitely be picking that up. Same goes for GodHand. I read a smidge about GrimGrimoire in the Vanillaware thread (re: Dragon's Crown thread) but know little of it.
edit: Yeah doesn't get a mention on the AU PSN website, damnit

I still have Odin Sphere in my PS2 collection. I don't think I ever took it out of its shrinkwrap. I really should get around to playing it one of these days. It'd feel silly to buy it on PSN when my PS3 is already backwardly compatible.
Can I use my PS2 Odin Sphere save on the Only on PSN version of Odin Sphere?
I don't think PSX saves worked on PSN versions of PSX games.
I did, however, buy that PSX/2-to-PS3 save converter device and copy all my saves over.
(Truth be told, I'd rather start over anyway; but I am curious.)
Nope.
PS1 saves do work on the PSN versions though, so long as they're the same region.
Do they?
Hmm. I'd like to actually look at my old FF9 save on my PSN version. I already have a PS1 Virtual Memory card on my PS3 with only FF9 saves in it. And I have FF9 from PSN installed on my PS3. How do I do this?
I thought each PSN game has it's own internal memory card or whatever.

No, they all use the same virtual memory cards. Just assign the card with the FFIX saves on it to the first slot, then start FFIX.

You appear to have read quite a lot into a single smiley, which is pretty impressive considering on my end all I was feeling was "What no godhand right now nooooooo" :P

I was replying to the quote tree, just didn't want to post the entire thing. :P
What's this Maximo game about? And Ring of Red? Come on, reward my laziness.
Ring of Red was one of my favourite Mech games on the PS2. You moved your Mech around on a turn based board al Front Mission, but you had to aim in real-time. The longer you aimed the higher the percentage for hitting. You had the usual alternate cold war history storyline with a Communist North Japan and a democratic Southern one.
I mostly remember the piss poor localisation in the UK, the fact that I thought it was a great game and the hassle I had in trying to find a copy. The guy behind the counter actually tried to talk me out of buying it.

What. What. What.
What?! (Throws fistfulls of money at the TV.)
This is one of the sexiest things I've ever read. And if I could get it on Vita? What.
Oh hell yes.

How can you be so wrong

Also, I've never heard of Ring of Red.
Anyone care to sell me on either?

Very few are $10, though.

It would be kickass if they did this, as I own Odin Sphere, and it'd be nice to play it on the PS3 rather than dig out the PS2.
But this is Sony, and I'm assuming the path of least resistance and work.
I have neither time nor money. Goddammit.
Sweet!

My Backloggery
Imma buy it.
No chance of discs working. Sounds like these are slightly modified builds from the PS2 copies, which is also why old saves won't work.
Nope.

I really wouldn't be worried about this. It'll happen. Maybe not the same games but Sony aren't just going to go through this effort just for the US.
We'll just have to wait till SCEE wake up and announce something. And that could take a while, considering how much they suck.

I love that game, I think I left my copy in Iraq.
Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, I didn't care much for...
...but the sequel, Army of Zin? Really good stuff.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!
No, really, it is.
Why the hate yo?

It's not a total clone, but it's definitely modernized/updated.
