Simpsons are dead. well, maybe

I'm sure you've all heard by now, but Fox and the Simpsons voice actors are in a dispute over money that could lead to the show finally being cancelled if the actors don't take something like a 35% salary cut, and they'll be deciding at noon tomorrow

so, how're we feeling about this? I'm sure everyone here agrees that the show should have been dead years ago and that its legacy has been tainted by years of mediocrity, but this seems like a reaaallllyyy sad way for it to go out

There's some rumbling that Fox has figured it will make them more money if they cancel the show and then sell off the syndication rights for an absolute boatload of money

really after a straight run of completely forgettable mediocrity for over ten years I can't think of a better way for the simpsons to end than to be cancelled with a whimper after fox decided it wasn't worth the money and the voice actors refused to only get paid like what $5 million a season

I honestly don't believe that the finacial situation is that dire.

What are their expenses? Four "main" voice actors being paid good money, some writers and a billion Koreans that you pay 1cent a year to.

I am willing to say that the quality of episodes did improve for awhile after the movie came out.

The same thing happened with South Park too.

Someone living below the poverty line is probably thinking the same about you.

Think of it this way. They are complaining because they are getting a pay cut. The money that they save isn't going to homeless kitties or the ugly duckling/actually a swan orphanage it's just going to dudes that have even more money.
