Bit Torrent and Macs

I'm trying to hook my friend up with bit torrent on her laptop and she says I've tried before a year ago and couldnt find anything (I dont remember that at all but oh well)

basically are there any good mac bit torrent programs?
and will torrents from anywhere (torrent spy etc) work on the laptop too?

    Yes, torrents from anywhere will work. Transmission is solid, and Azureus is good, but it takes up a lot of memory.

    I'm a big fan of Tomato Torrent myself. It's not very memory-hungry and has worked nicely for every torrent I've thrown at it.

    I just use the vanilla BitTorrent client. Lets you manage bandwidth and has worked for me for over a year now with no fuss.

    I seriously doubt you helped her, as you can go to the frickin' BitTorrent website and they have an official client. it's impossible to miss. She probably just did a basic search herself and assumed it was you :D

    I've been using Bittorrent for the OSX from this site (http://www.bittorrent.com) and it works fine.
