TSA/Traveling with liquids and medicine questions

Hey everyone,

So trying to scour the TSA website on carry on liquids and meds and whatnot, I'm thoroughly confused on what I can/can't carry on me onto the plane. I'm traveling to Puerto Rico tomorrow, and I have a connecting flight at another airport that is 20 minutes away, with an hour and a half between flights, so checking a bag is not an option. Here's what I have:

Zipper/quart sized bag from amazon filled with various liquids/bathroom stuff/extra contacts
2nd Ziplock bag with my meds in it, and contact/saline solution (2 different bottles, small "tsa friendly" size; epi-pen, and pills (here).

Am I wrong in thinking that this is OK? I thought I read that this is allowed since meds do not need to be in your first bag, but you need to tell them what you are carrying on? Or did I mis-read this?

    should be fine

they can't limit your meds so long as you have the script for it.
so long as the bathroom stuff is the small bottles and fits in the bag its cool. though honestly the fluids rule is stupid and some people don't even bother looking. you are supposed to pull the bag out or whatever but I have never even separated my toiletries and never had an issue. the only thing i have been hit for is water bottles

Yeah, I've got a nalgene, but it's empty, so I'm not worried about that, just wanted to make sure the other bag with meds and contact stuff was fine

Should be fine, but if you have anything showing your name as being the person your meds were prescribed to, bring it along (sometimes it says that info right on the package even). Because it's in the right size of bag and all, they likely won't even notice it or care, but if they do then you'll have the info proving you need the meds, so they'll definitely leave you be. They just like that kind of documentation for medicine.

The contact solution doesn't have my name, but the prescriptions do, minus the epi-pen, but I wouldn't suspect this would cause much issue, just didn't want to get too hassled beyond the usual racial profiling that happens already

In my experience border/customs agents want nothing to do with touching my meds. I unzip and show them and move along. :winky:

I have needles and vials, diabetic, and I could really bring anything in that if I wanted to. They always immediately put it aside, for everyone's protection.
