Ive already passed about 5 people who were also playing this game, no idea how to find the Link Portals they may have left using the Streetpass function.
I dont understand why theyd make the Portals location based and not purely based on just passing someone. You pass someone, you get a portal in the game...not you pass someone and hope they placed it in a well trafficked area of that world.
Your making me sad. I just graduated from the 2nd largest campus in Amuri-cuh and would get five to eight hits daily. Now I'm leaving to active duty and will probably never see that again.
So, I just hit the final world. I was wondering if there were any better Keyblades i could go grab than the one from Fantasia, because i feel really weak for the area.
Well, I'm powering through KH2. About 21 hours in. I just finished...
Agrabah
I may actually finally finish this game this week, after waiting so many years to play it. KH2 can be goddamned annoying though. It's like each world's mechanics are designed around trying to find a new way to troll the player.
So I mentioned before that I have most of the other KH games, except Birth By Sleep. I may go ahead and shell out for a new PSP and BBS (my PSP is broken) because I really want to play it. I plan on playing through all of them regardless of their individual suckitude.
So I guess I'll just play them in order of release. Does this mean it goes:
BBS -> 358/2 -> Re:Coded -> Dream Drop Distance?
Or is 358/2 before BBS? I cannot remember.
Also, I DID beat Chain of Memories on the GBA a long time ago, but I also own Re:Chain of Memories. At this point, I'm mostly interested in catching up with the story so I can get to the newer games. Is there any real reason for me to play Re:Chain of Memories? I mean, there was no new story content, right?

Re: Chain has no new content, but from a gameplay side its like a whole different game. I felt like it was a much better game than the GBA counterpart. Its fun having a whole deck set up so that the first 2 times through the deck you can use nothing but sleights. Double the fun with a mega potion.
Remember if you're playing on Proud Mode, which is pretty easy, you don't have to work as hard to see the secret FMV sequence. You just need to complete the major quest in each world. Just remember play Atlantis on mute.

If you wanna play them in order of release Its:
358 > BBS > RE: Coded > DDD
It does have a few things. I know for a fact that it has at least one more boss fight.

Oh yeah. Both have one more boss fight than in CoM.
Also, i found the best keyblade i can get before the final stuff. YOu have to get gold on all the dives for it.

So in DDD, finding that ONE LAST CHEST in each zone eats up so much time, because you find most chests twice (anything in a common area), so it's easy to think you got something already and then have no fucking clue where the last one is as you scour around every corner of every map. Hrmm.
Remember if you're playing on Proud Mode, which is pretty easy, you don't have to work as hard to see the secret FMV sequence. You just need to complete the major quest in each world. Just remember play Atlantis on mute.
For KH2? I am in Proud Mode. And that's good to know. I barely have time to play games at home anymore, so I'm trying to just get through KH2 so I can play these others which are all mobile. I might abandon my usual "MUST 100% EVERYTHING!" if I can get all the story elements quickly/easily.

I think every world needs to have a keyblade emblem on it to indicate you did the major sidequest there. And yes you have to do this at Atlantis. If you're not on Proud Mode, then you have to absolutely 100% everything.

Well, then I'm damned glad I am playing in Proud Mode.
The only part I had trouble with was one section of The Land of Dragons - where you have to break the stone walls. Those damn knight guys with spears kept butchering me. Since then it's been easy.
KH 2 is too easy on Proud Mode, I can't even imagine how dull the game must be on easy.
Yeah. Since I restarted from after all that Roxas crap and I started mowing through everything I was really worried and had to check that I actually started the game in Proud Mode.
She is the problem solver of the lot though and the most powerful and fun character to play as in the game.
The "jiggle" as it were is only really noticeable if you make jerky movements with the camera placed just so.
It's clear as day on her main menu screen, unless you have a PSP-1000 or something. It's very minor, but again, dunno how Disney let it slip by. Do they even monitor the development of these games anymore?
In any event, I was just wondering what the non-spoiler impression of DDD was. How does it rank compared to BbS? I only heard a couple of opinions saying the beginning was slow, though that's kind of been a KH trademark.
Also, I've yet to finish Re:Coded and TWEWY (way behind on both). Does it spoil anything major for the latter, and is it really recommended I finish the former first?
Unless you consider revealing characters who are in the manual and show up a third of the way through a game then no, no real spoilers for TWEWY.
RE:Coded's only real new piece of story is the conversation between Yen Sid and Mickey that directly leads into this game. It's not a spoiler as much as it is a plot overview for this game.

I got this.
Impression? The Drop mechanic is a tad annoying, but nothing that can't be worked with. It plain feels good to be in control of Sora proper, and Riku is pretty great too. And raising spirits is annoying. Despite this, better than BBS IMO.
As for your last question: Re:Coded's story is pretty self contained, and all it does is set this one up proper. I just skipped it and read the synopsis in this game.
And yes, it does spoil TWEWY pretty hard, really early too. In particular:
Regardless of the spoiler-ness in DDD, complete TWEWY. If you ignore all the grinding, you can get through the story very quickly, even without a FAQ.
I just finished it about 2 weeks ago and it was one of the most rewarding game experiences I've ever had. Definitely not something you want spoiled prematurely.
Hell, I think you could quite possibly finish TWEWY in its entirety in 5-10 hours with only minimal grinding if your primary focus is story. And nothing is permanently "missable" so, yeah.
I'm glad 358/2 is next (after I finish KH2), since I already own that one.
It's galling that I have to buy a new PSP for Birth by Sleep, considering I own a Vita. Nomura said that the no-digital-version reason wasn't because of Square-Enix, Disney, or Utada (people had theorized that it was either Disney or Utada). I can only, by process of elimination, assume Sony declined to license the digital version for some dumb reason, probably a misguided attempt to still prove the viability of UMD to shareholders or some dumb shit.
Either way, whoever made the decision, or prevented it from happening, gets all my middle fingers.

I'd say Square-Enix has something to do with it, if there are any common factors with the fact that there are nearly all of zero PSP Final Fantasies on PSN apart from FFIV complete, Dissidia, and that crappy Tactics remake.

Yeah it's not Disney. SE didn't release *any* of their games digitally on PSP. Which is odd considering they are releasing this (I think?) in the eShop digitally. Which leads me to believe this was a beef with Sony.
I wish they'd just get on with it and port BbS to 3DS Then I don't have to buy a PSP

Eh? Yes they did. Dissidia, FFT, and FFIV, like just mentioned above for one.

Valkyrie Profile
Final Fantasy I and II
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Both Star Ocean games
Crisis Core
Space Invaders Extreme

Ok...question time. Do I just have to power through to get the better spirits? Isn't there someway I can get myself an Elephant before I'm done with Pinochio's World?

Even Sephiroth, a shining light of difficulty in KH1 can be spammed to death in about five seconds with the trinity attack.
Also Lingering Sentiment in Final Mix+ was supposed to be quite the challenge.
And of course Demyx's second fight is frustrating as hell, though that's not an indication of real difficulty.

I thought the Joshua thing was pretty firmly in the last couple weeks of TWEWY. It's been awhile since I played though.
It's a HUGE spoiler though. In the very first world of KH:3D :P So yeah...
