Ok...question time. Do I just have to power through to get the better spirits? Isn't there someway I can get myself an Elephant before I'm done with Pinochio's World?
You don't need recipes to create spirts, as long as you have the ingredients.

Yeah it's not Disney. SE didn't release *any* of their games digitally on PSP. Which is odd considering they are releasing this (I think?) in the eShop digitally. Which leads me to believe this was a beef with Sony.
I wish they'd just get on with it and port BbS to 3DS Then I don't have to buy a PSP
Square released almost all of their PSP games digitally. Like 90% of them, I think. The only two I can think they didn't was Crisis Core and Birth by Sleep. I wish FF1 PSP and FF2 PSP would come to NA PSN, but even those got digital releases (in the UK, I believe).
Those two were major releases from major franchises, which leads me to believe Sony wanted them to be UMD only for some reason. Maybe to keep people buying out remaining PSP-2000/-3000 stock while the Gos were on the market? No clue, really, but I could see it happening.
Suffice to say, SE does some weird shit too and keeps their reasons to themselves, so whatever. Can't really lay the blame at anyone, but it sucks that BBS isn't on PSN.
Sucks too, because playing BBS from the memory stick is super fast. Much faster even than playing from a full install.

So I think the one thing this game has helped me realize is that 3DS has really shitty speakers. The audio quality is really horrible, to the point that I can't always hear all the dialog. I actually ended up plugging in some headphones this weekend and it was freaking night and day. Just hate having to play the game with headphones to actually get good audio out of it
So true...well my 2 cents. I don't know if the CCP really helps. I mean sure, when you're just exploring the field it's alright but during battles I just don't use it unlike...The Force Unleashed for instance. You can probably play DDD just like BBS and do alright.

Honestly I don't have a CCP and the controls feel just fine in this one. I think the biggest problem with 358/2's controls (my only direct comparison that isn't a mainstream PS2 title :P) was the lack of analog stick. So d-pad movement was a little goofy. But with the analog slider, everything works pretty good. The camera seems smart enough to not get in the way, and it's really easy to rotate with L & R (did 358/2 steal one of those buttons for a function too? I can't remember)
It may also help that flowmotion gives you a lot more movement freedom over the environment, so there is maybe less need to "look around" when you can just fly anywhere to see if there is stuff there :P
Plus you need to answer the 3 questions correctly at the end and spell out the secret message during the credits.

So now that we have TWEWY characters in here, does this open the door for other Square-Enix owned characters to show up? I want to see Lara Croft and Hitman in KH3

Hey, they are developing Tomb Raider right now :P

So in DDD now (only bought a 3ds for it) and playing on proud mode. Will say it gets fairly hard unless you get the right spirits with the right abilites.
Note spoilers about the game.
First problem was the 3 boss fights in the second traverse town visit, had to grind my snail guy to get second chance and get both characters to higher levels before I could do it with Sora.
Second grindstone i have is now, In the the world that never was. Having problems with the constant chain combos the monsters do. So now I am grinding for the second survival ability once more. While I do that though, Any tips on how to survive with all these constant combo monsters? Having problems after killing a couple of groups then dying to five monsters deciding to gang up.
Okay, I'm sure a lot of this has been covered, but I just hopped into this thread for the first time and didn't want to read several dozen pages of history .
I played KH1 and 2, loved them...then forgot basically everything that happened. I didn't have an interest in the spin-offs. Is this an actual sequel to KH2?
Also, is there any word on releasing 1 and 2 in HD? Replaying them to re-familiarize myself would be nice.

Yes, I think this one is actually the second one that takes place after KH2, the other being Coded/Re:Coded but I'm not sure how much that one counts :P
And I doubt they will re-release the first two in HD, at least for quite awhile.
Side note - beat the game + secret ending a couple nights ago. Pretty good! Seemed like there were fewer worlds that they usually do though, especially with two of them being Mickey-based worlds which came off as kind of weird (not that Fantasia has a whole lot to do with Mickey, but still)
For once I think the plot actually sort of kind of made sense too, which is kind of scary :P
Spoilery stuff:
I still don't get if this was all Sora's dreams then why were there a bunch of new worlds? Like, they made it a point to say this was NOT the Mark of Mastery exam they were supposed to be doing, and yet it sort of kind of was. It's all really weird.
Also, anyone else read the Secret Message (which I had to fucking replay that damn diving credits thing like 5 times for... god... they need better hit boxes on those letters :P I kept missing like, ONE of them) and read it as "Kingdom Hearts 3, finally for a console that can output better graphics than the PS2"? :P
Speaking of which, my god there were like three references to that. I guess they really, really wanted people to know that KH3 is the next game. Though I did find the way they did it in the THIRD set of credits (seriously, this game has WAY too many credits) cute. "This leads to Kingdom Hearts" and then they show several groups of three people, followed by Sora and Riku walking into the light and their bodies creating the negative space for "III" which was neat.
Also, I demand KH3 feature playable Lea (Axel). And Kairi now that they are going to finally stop ignoring her :P
Hmph, BBS is still my favorite over DDD. I think I'm in the last world:
The World That Never Was.
and I've come to hate DEs. I just don't feel there's any sense of progression with them. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong. I don't have enough munny to continuously buy Water Barrels. Also, with the mats I've gotten (disregarding the AR cards) I don't think I have many exciting abilities for this point in the game. I know, BBS was easy to break once you had an idea what spells/commands you wanted but I was just browsing a list of mats I need to get a DE with Once More and I've yet to see any of those drop.
So thread...should I like grind Flick Rush? Gold Star Dives? I thought I'd save those activities for my post game but are they necessary for a Proud Run?

I pretty easily got the 7 trophies I needed for a *normal* run, only doing one semi crazy thing in collecting 100% treasures. For Proud you shouldn't need to do anything extra

I feel like I'm doing Spirits wrong. There's just no where good to grind out enough Link Points. Should I be skipping all abilities that aren't permanent (i.e. only go for the RED and PURPLE abilities)? I thought I'd grind through every Spirit like how I got every ability in BBS relatively quickly by grinding for a bit on Neverland, but there's no way that's feasible this time around.

Yeah I used Neverland as THE place to grind. Not the highest EXP rate, but close access to a shop meant I could make badass abilities easier.
Your comment made me laugh, because I never thought about it, but that must have been the most obvious answer to "Where's the best place to grind?"

Yeah, there was a U shaped area that overlooked a cliff that like 3-4 waves of guys that gave a ton of ability points (or whatever they were called). That's where I permanently got every ability and attack/magic on every character. And I had boat loads of fun doing it, since it was so interesting to see how every attack worked, especially when you got to the crazy stuff like Megaflare, Time Splicer, and Zantetsuken. There's very little incentive to use different abilities in this game, one of the (very few) things I'm disappointed with.
At first I thought DDD was tougher than BBS. Then I discovered how OP Balloon/ra/ga are. Damn Proud Mode became easy mode. Who needs Mega Flare/Salvation/Ars Arcanum when you can spam Balloonga from the other side of the battlefield. And it only takes one slot!
Oh right, um. BBS still is my favorite but DDD is quite fun too! But that ending...
...let's not discuss time travel but hmph, I was hoping that Sora was finally gonna be acknowledged as a Keyblade Master. I figure they're gonna pull a Return of the Jedi and he will only become one once he has vanquished Xenahort.
Plus you need to answer the 3 questions correctly at the end and spell out the secret message during the credits.
Ugh, do I have fight the bosses again? I already unlocked the secret message through Theater mode so am I just answering the questions wrong or does it all have to be together during the credits sequence?

If you didn't answer the questions correctly but got the message but didn't unlock the secret ending in memoirs, then you most likely would need to replay the ending. These are the answers (or close to what I remember)
1. Losing something that is important 2. someone close to me 3. to get back something important.

Does clearing the game on Critical also unlock the Proud trophy?
Portals that require you to counterattack are annoying as hell.
