iPhone/iTunes questions

Greetings, super friends! I upgraded today from the iPhone 3 to the iPhone 4, and I've discovered a problem. I was able to get my contacts, photos, apps, etc, to transfer, but I can't get the music to switch over. I suspect the problem is:

1) The computer I used to have my iTunes on is broken to the point that it will not turn on.

2) All of my music was legally purchased, but because the computers I bought it on are long gone, iTunes is only recognizing the nine songs I bought on the actual iPhone as being "purchased." It considers the rest of my music to be the work of the devil, apparently. Almost all of songs were actually purchased on iTunes, but since I don't have access to those computers anymore, it's like I never paid for it.

So, I guess I'm looking for a workaround. I found quite a few pieces of software that claimed to do the trick, but they all cost cash monies. The demos seemed to work, but they either maxed out at 100 songs, or only let me copy about 25 at a time. I have almost a thousand. I don't necessarily need all those songs, but cutting 90% of my music library is less than ideal.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

tl;dr: Transferring music between iphones, when itunes won't recognize my legit music as being legit. Thanks!

Are those songs not stored on your iTunes account? Then couldn't you use any random computer to re-add the songs? I mean, I've never actually had an iTunes account, but I would guess there's some way to legitimize your music again. If need be, I'm sure you could call Apple and have them de-authorize your old computer so you could authorize a new one, but I would think it's possible to authorize one more computer at least?

Authorize the computer for all the iTunes accounts you've ever used to purchase content (you may have to "de-authorize all computers" for accounts where you've hit the max authorizations). Do this to copy content from 3G iPhone to computer. After content is copied over to computer, sync your 4G iPhone to computer to copy content over to 4G iPhone.
