So far my companion has been Veronica who likes dresses and the BoS. She seems good because she runs up and punches dudes, whereas I tip-toe around and shoot things because I threw all my stats into CHA and INT and AGI and my abilities are all about small gun accuracy and learning.
There's ... cassie? In a bar but she has a rifle so it seems like a "tank" and a shooter is better than two shooters. Hmm. She's the only other one I've seen.

There is a club over here that completely banks on it (And only plays music from roughly 1975-1990), and the biggest venue has 2-3 themed nights a month / as well, based purely on era. ('80s, '90s, '00s)
