I would love a homemade gift!

My favourite colour is totally blue everything blue never enough blue. But I have about a million hats and scarves and mittens that I've knitted for myself.

Crochet'd animals would be cute, cause I don't crochet, but yeah anything knitted I could probably make myself.

Other crafts are, of course, more than welcome. Who wouldn't love something hand made?

I bought crafting supplies yesterday but I think I need to learn more about different types of paint.

I crochet! So let it be noted, whoever gets Asiina, if you want to give her a crochet animal, I can do it, no problem. :)

Names in Red are people who have sent me their contact info. I need this info within the next two days. This will give me a day to sort that information and send it out by the 20th. Once I start pairing people, I'm closing the list.

A reminder: Tracking numbers are good. It's a busy season. People fuck up. People fuck up more when they are working harder. Error rate goes up when you're depending on temp workers. Tracking numbers are a way for you to place the blame on those people rather then us assuming you're a cheap shit. Pay the extra two dollars.

    I sent my contact info.

    Now, my list I guess.

First, NSFW is fine I guess? I mean, M- and R-rated things are fine. I just don't want any sex toys or whatever.

    Now, things I would like:

    - A giant (80-90 foot), diamond-encrusted golden statue of my likeness.
    - My own movie theater (with 10 or more screens).
    - A Lamborghini or some other extremely impractical and expensive sports car.
    - A suitcase jam packed with 100 dollar bills.
    - A jetpack (with or without rocket launchers).
    - A small state. Rhode Island would even be fine, I guess.
    - Katy Perry.

I know at least a couple of those things will probably he hard to get on short notice, so I'll post some other likes and dislikes below. Keep the above in mind for my birthday though, which is right around the corner. Personally, I'm partial to the Katy Perry and it shouldn't be difficult to deliver the Katy Perry by February if you are so inclined to get me the Katy Perry.

    - I have a PS3 and a decent PC (and a Nintendo DS), though I can't really envision anything that I will want for the PS3 before Christmas that I don't plan on picking up soon. PC is always cool, but then again I buy a lot of random shit there so, yeah. I do have some stuff in my Steam wishlist and I try to keep it updated, and really digital gifts are always good.

    - I have a Kindle and I'd personally prefer to read books on my Kindle, but I do like to read and cool books are always a good thing no matter what format they are in. Any genre is fine, though I'm a big fan of sci-fi and not really a big fan of non-fiction. But anything good is good.

    - I've kind of outgrown my movie collection phase. I used to buy DVDs by the truckload. Still, a good movie I might not own would be fine. Blu-Rays are cool as I have a PS3 and a decent monitor/HDTV. I do like foreign flicks too, but only if it's subbed in the original language. I like anime too and I haven't really seen or watched anything current. But again, subbed not dubbed. I have a Netflix streaming account so movies aren't really a big deal anymore.

    - I have an iPad, too.

    - Not really into obscene gag gifts, like farting dolls or whatever. I honestly have too many of that kind of thing already and I'm trying to get rid of stuff like that.

    - I don't drink at home at all. I have gotten the occasional gift of interesting beers and I did drink them, but it took me quite some time. Someone gave me a bottle of wine like four years ago and to be honest I still haven't opened it.

    - Artsy stuff can be cool but definitely not swag-type stuff. I have enough plushies and plastic and pewter in my room already. Handcrafted stuff is always cool, though, so consider that an exception. I have no problem putting some of this other pewter/plastic/plushie crap in storage for a nice handcrafted thing.

    - I dunno, anything fun or cool would be cool. I'm sure I'll enjoy it, whatever it is. I hope this list wasn't unhelpful.

-- Things I nerd out about:
Venture Brothers: love the show and have seen every episode several times, but don't have much fan-gear to speak of really. I am also a big fan of the kind of shows that Venture Bros. is riffing on-- I grew up watching Jonny Quest, Herculoids, Space Ghost and the rest of the '60s Hanna-Barbera stuff.
    Venture stuff we do have:
    *Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD
*Brock Samson, Henchman 21 & 24 action figures
*Doctor Orpheus bobblehead from awesome santa Corbius last year
if it is not one of those things it would probably be cool
Film photography: I torture our houseguests with cameras, and I am an annoying hipster who loves lo-fidelity film stuff. I am a Lomography nerd.
Science Fiction: I have an eccentric collection of books, but far from complete. I like space opera, rockets and rayguns kind of stuff and dystopian political novels. I am a sci-fi writer myself so stuff relating to that is cool.

    :)
    --other things about me:
I am a sculptor and toy collector; I love rare/handmade sculpting tools, unusual action figures, etc. I also do a lot of toy/figure modding.
I do occasionally shop on threadless.com and similar nerd-shirt sites. (I wear a guys large on there because bosoms.)

Talking Jesus is sort of the mascot of the average party at nexuscrawler's house. Things that are Talking-Jesus-sized might be kind of cool, especially if they are things which would be wildly inappropriate for Jesus to have. (He is approximately a Ken doll size with a total hulking He-Man torso.)

Quirky retro stuff, campy "where I'm from" stuff, and props and things that can be used for the purposes of taking ridiculous pictures at one of our house parties would also be cool as long as it's something really really awesome.

    I like:
good beer -- whiskey -- rum
hot sauce (not into like, the 500,000-scovilles range, but Blair's Original Death Sauce is not really like, "hot enough" for me)

    :?
    --Not so into:
Not a typical gamer geek; no consoles and my netbook limits most of my gaming to small scale Flash puzzle games (yay for Neopets!) -- but I have a Steam account and I own a copy of TF2.
(There are a couple of games I want; I have heard some good things about that Bastion thingy.)
I haven't played Magic competitively since the end of the Mirrodin cycle.

like many people I am pretty picky about music.

While I love sci-fi, I'm really not a Star Trek or Star Wars fan.

When in doubt, I suppose you could ask nexuscrawler. he's my boyfriend and stuff. So he would probably know.
If you need an amazon wishlist because this just is not helpful or adequate, PM him and I can post it. (uh... there really isn't much of anything on it, other than some rare books I'm stalking on the secondary market.)

I guess people are posting lists at this point. I'm gonna be lame and post the same thing I did last year.

    :D
music: classic rock and 80's power ballads - just not Journey, Styx, or Meat Loaf (since I already have those)
video games: anything open-ended and colorful. I adore Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, and Minecraft.
*We own a Wii, a 360, and a PS3, and I have a DS and a gaming-capable PC. My Steam ID is the same as my username here.
I appreciate puns and math humor. A combination of the two usually goes over very well. Since this often lends itself to t-shirts, I'm a size small.
If my avatar wasn't enough of a giveaway, hummingbirds rule. So does chocolate (especially mint or amaretto flavored) and funky-printed knee socks.
Also, I love my cats. Toys for them are as much gifts for me as they are for them.

    D:
music recorded in the last two decades
    RTS games
porn - just not my thing, though NSFW is okay
meat loaf as an edible dish

If all else fails, PM @YamiNoSenshi. Regardless of what he tells you, I don't actually want a pony.

I guess I should make a list without checking it or something.

Lets start out with what I don't want.

I don't want Video games - this is one area of my life where I rarely deny myself if I want it so there's a good chance that whatever you get me I will either not want or already have. you can look at my steam games if you want but I like buying the physical box still 99% of the time. The exception would be steam only games and/or indie games.
I don't want music - I have 60 gigs worth of it and I have satelite radio.
    I don't want movies - I have netflix.
I don't want candy - seriously. I get more than enough from my downstairs neighbor who seems to want to drown me in dark chocolate.
    I don't want Anime - I don't like it.
I don't want Clothes - I have 0 hangers left and 0 room in my dresser as it is.
    I don't want glassware - I own about 50 glasses/cups and use 2 of them.

    what I do want.

I do want decorations/nicknacks - I just bought my own place this year and the walls are almost uterly bare, I also have tables with no neat centerpieces and bookcases with nothing ontop of them. While NSFW is generally OK, try to avoid it in this case since I don't want to have to hide stuff for when my grandmother visits. an exception would be if it was tastefully NSFW.
I do want something you made - especially if it falls in the above category of decorations/paintings/nicknacks.
I do want liquor/beer - If you are over 21 that is.... mostly just liquor/beer that I might not have heard of and or ever seen.
I do want Books - I haven't really kept up to date on my reading except for a few authors (JV Jones, Robin Hobb, George Martin and Wheel of Time replacement guy) so if its new and fantasy/scifi related, I probably haven't read it.
I do want neat little tech gizmos gadgets and whatnots - I'm an engineer.

Things I have (which may help inform a purchase):
I own a PS3, Xbox 360 and a Wii. I have an android phone. I have a PC that is in serious need of a full upgrade, but I do play games on Steam, so feel free to gift during the holiday sale. I use an eReader (a Nook). I have pretty much all the kitchen stuff one could reasonably use. I love to cook. I love to bake. I am a dirty, dirty Oregon Duck.

While clothing is probably a long shot, for information's sake I am a big guy. Six foot three, 225 pounds. I don't like baggy t-shirts, and XL shirts often look too large/baggy on me, but large shirts are often too short in the torso. You have been warned. However, scarfs, hats, and other things of that type are loved.

Random things I enjoy: Erector sets, Legos, coffee mugs with Joe Biden's face on them (it's an Obama 2012 gag, fill up yer Cup 'O Joe), coffee, good chocolate, those awesome Japanese model kits that make action figures, things from the Valve Store, Penny-Arcade merch.

    Things that are cool:
Re-gifting. I have absolutely zero problem with this. If you read/played/watched something you really enjoyed and think I would enjoy it, go right ahead. It's both the thought that counts and that you want to share it with someone.
    Homemade Gifts: These are awesome.
Graphic novels. I own only the Scott Pilgrim series, but I regularly others in bookstores and check them out from the library. I have read all of Fables, and keep up to date on most Marvel/DC stuff.
Board games: I love boardgames, especially the awesome ones you can get from Thoughthammer, card games included. As for what I have, I own the Descent boardgame, Risk and its variants, Ticket to Ride and its variants, vanilla Settlers of Catan, Castle Ravenloft, and a standard assortment of classics like Scrabble, Clue, Life, Monopoly, etc.
Transformers: I love transformers. I am still kicking myself in the ass because I never picked up Masterpiece Grimlock. Masterpiece Optimus Prime is my constant desk companion.
Awesome/Unique/Homemade Stuff: I got Mrs. DoctorArch a plush Dalek, and she loves it. We also have a TARDIS cookie jar. We almost couldn't part with the Oregon Duck Pillow Pet we got for our nephew because it was so damned adorable.

Things that are probably not cool:
I am an avid reader, but I also have pretty much sworn off of books printed on dead trees (long live eReaders), with the exception being graphic novels.
Getting me movies/games is a pretty big risk, especially with Black Friday coming up.

    Anything else let me know.

No NSFW stuff. I would rather not have a dirty foreigner as my santee cuz I don't want to eat up their presents budget on shipping.

I only have a PS3 these days and I own Little Big Planet, God of War 3, Deus Ex: HR, Uncharted, and maybe one other game. I typically don't spend much time on consoles these days. My computer is about 4 years old so I can no longer play state of the art games but feel free to get me something older off of Steam, especially say during the Holiday Steam sale because I'm going to be in Italy during it.

Also, I've recently gotten into electronics/microcontrollers/robotics and DIY stuff in general so things that go towards building up my tool inventory or just whatever would be cool too.

I read a bunch, I have a Kindle, checking out my goodreads account would probably be a good idea to see what stuff I'm into and what I've already read. I don't know if those profiles are open to non-friends though.

I have an aversion to religious iconography so no terrible buddha heads or any thing please.

In case I forgot to share it, here's my amazon wishlist. It's up to date I think.

I suppose I should post my handy guide to gift giving to the Cock of the People:

    First off, my list:

    • I love cool art stuff. Art books, art prints, statues (especially statues, but not action figures, typically).
    • Communist stuff. I got a Matroshka doll of communist figures and it is pure <3. I love that thing. Something like that would always be appreciated.
    • Books! As far as fiction, I like sci-fi mostly. As far as non-fiction, science books, math books (I am perfectly fine with textbooks). I also enjoy the good comedy book. I prefer eBooks, but I'm fine with a dead tree version if that's more convenient.
    • Historical artifacts. Came across a copy of Der Wille Zur Macht by Nietzsche published when Hitler became Chancellor at a local used book store? I'd think that was cool. PS: Don't get me this because I already have one, but other stuff like this is cool.
    • Miscellaneous collectible stuff, especially nerd collectibles. I'm like Richy. I have a nerd shelf with all sorts of nerd collectible shit.
    • Hilarious Stuff. Examples of previous stuff from this category that I've received and enjoyed: monocle (I lost this, so another one would be welcome), cigarette case with a monkey smoking on the front, flask.
    • Comics. I enjoy them, don't have a whole lot of them. You could probably get away with getting me a lot of the big classics in this category. I don't have Sandman, for example.
    • On that note, I won a charity auction for lunch with Neil Gaiman, but the only Neil Gaiman thing I've read is American Gods. So, I could stand to brush up on his work so I don't look like an idiot when I meet him.
    • Music. I'm always looking for new music to listen to. Best way to gift music for me, however, is through iTunes. Just not really sappy country music, please.
    • Homemade stuff, especially if it also falls in one of the above categories. Example: A penis cozy my friend knitted for me.
    • A Speedo swimsuit with a hammer and sickle on the crotch. I'm serious. If you can find this, I would love it. Or if you know where I can get such a thing, PM me.
    • Cat toys. I love playing with my itty bitty adorable kitty cat. Facilitating this would bring joy to my and my cat's heart.

NSFW is fine. I don't really need another dildo, but I'd appreciate it nonetheless.
You get to decide if I'm being serious here or not. Muwhahaha.

    Now for my $ list:
    • Movies in general. If I like a movie enough to have it on video, I probably already have it.
    • Clothes. They typically don't excite me. Although, a particularly apropos t-shirt is welcome.
    • Gadgets. I probably already have it. ;)
Human body parts. I already have enough as it is. I don't need more. Forget I said that
    • Goggles. Yes, I know my avatar has them. But I have enough of them as it is.
    • Steampunk stuff. Despite my goggles, I actually am not a fan of Steampunk anymore.
    • Anime.

Anything on this list, it should be noted, is superseded by the list. Found a human body part with the hammer and sickle tattooed on it? I'd enjoy it. Forget I said that.

PS: In case you didn't get it...
    = :)
    $ = :(
    I'm a communist, see?

    Hello, Secret Santa!

My (updated and expansive) Amazon gift list is in my sig, here is a guideline of what I'd dig this year (Although anything off the list is a winna).

    DO WANT
Video games (I Have a PS3, and only have Deus Ex)
Coffee stuff (French press, Aeropress, and mugs)
Cast Iron Cookware (Skillets, Dutch ovens, you name it)
Clothes (I don't care if it's work clothes or whatevs.)
Shoes (I have one pair of boots that I also work out of)
Posters (Love stuff to hang on my walls)
Tools (Love fixing up the house and working on my car)

    DONT WANT
CD'S, DVDS, Blurays (If i want it, I probably already have it. I'm lame like that)

    Pretty much anything is golden.

    Santa, here is my list.

    1) I had to get rid of a lot of my books after moving, so I have almost no books right now besides Catch-22, Watchmen, my Orwell collection, and a few odds and ends. I would love some new books and am very open to surprises. I will read almost anything, so if you go this route feel free to go off the beaten path. I am interested into comics, I am also very new so please no comics that I need to know more than the basic premise of a character for.

    2) I have an Xbox 360 and a PC, however, my PC cannot handle very many games and it's hard drive is full. Video games would be a fantastic gift, here is a list of what I already own:
    Dead Space
    Borderlands
    Bully
    Burnout: Paradise
    DJ Hero
    Dragon Age 1/2
    Fable 2/3
    Fallout 3
    Grand Theft Auto 4
    Mass Effect 1/2
    Mercenaries 2
    Soul Calbur 4
    Viva Pinata
    Alpha Protocol
    Assassin's Creed
    Saint's Row 2
    Red Dead Redemption
    LA Noire
    Rock Band

I am interested in Fallout: New Vegas, Space Marine and Skyrim, and I'm sure I've missed a lot of great games not on the list. If you have an idea of the perfect game I've missed, I'd love to play it -- but I am bad at FPSes and puzzle or strategy games, so be wary of that.

    3) Homemade stuff would be nice as long as it's hats, gloves, scarves, etc. Please no figurines or collectibles, my shelves are full and I will have to put it in storage.

    4) Clothes. I love nerdy t-shirts from Threadless or Think Geek or Penny Arcade, this would be a really excellent gift. Please go with L or XL, and no baby doll tees please.

    5) Jewelery. Please be cautious with this, I have large wrists and my ears have grown over, but necklaces, large bracelets or rings might be a nice gift.

    6) Show DVDs such as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Futurama, the Simpsons or another long running comedy series would be a good gift, dramatic TV shows would not be my cup of tea.

    5) Surprise me! I like to think my personality has come out in [chat] a great deal, and if you see something that just screams 'Cass' and isn't on this list, go for it! I have faith in your ability to pick something that I'll love.

    Thanks!

you don't need to do a gift list at all. you're supposed to tell santa whether you're ok with nsfw stuff (and with shipping internationally) but one of the stronger traditions of secret santa is that if you don't express any likes explicitly... the gifter has to stalk you and find out that time 11 months ago when you said about how much you love moon magic and the sailor girls.

    * I am always desperately short on Live points for the 360. If you want to pick up something FOR the 360, though, that's a little tricker. Gamertag is the same as my forum name, if you want to stalk me thataway.
    * Nerd stuff, nerd shelf. I have the 11th Doctor's sonic screwdriver, but that's about it.
    * TV shows are shiny. Here's what I've got, for reference (and for an idea of my tastes):
Avatar, Battlestar Galactica, Big Bang Theory, Burn Notice, Chuck, Dexter, Dead Like Me, Doctor Who, Dollhouse, Firefly, Fringe, Heroes, Penny Arcade, House, Leverage, Veronica Mars.
    * Almost anything from ThinkGeek.
    * Board games are fun and all that. The group of people I typically play with prefer co-operative ones. I own or have access to the following already:
Apples to Apples, Arkham Horror + all expansions, Battlestar Galactica + all expansions, Castle Ravenloft, Munchkin, Pandemic + expansion.
    * Shirts are large size, if that's your thing. Also wouldn't say no to some hoodie finery from here, if you know what I'm saying.
    * More importantly than all of this stuff - be creative! I'm pretty open to anything. (Except the stuff I'm about to list. Oops.)

    Hylianbunny's :( list
    * Music. Pretty particular about this.
    * Alcohol doesn't do it for me.
    * Apart from the aforementioned shirts, clothes are probably a good thing to avoid too.

    Hylianbunny's D: list
    * Anyone's dick in a box.
    * Battlestar Galactica, season 4.5. If I get yet another copy of this I will go crazy.

    That oughta help out whoever.

Which size box are you planning on using?

Whatever size box will fit 70 pounds of lead. It's the only thing I can think to get Justin, since he hates everything.

Alright, the pairing list is done. I will be sending out names tomorrow. I am going to again stress the value of tracking numbers. Tracking numbers means that if your gift doesn't get there, we believe you.

Just double checking about the list, I want to make sure I didn't miss the PM.

I'm going to post a list post-Black Friday, because I usually buy stuff that's on sale for myself then.
