I still like Dragon Age 2, and still fucking hate DA:O.
This will probably never change.
I wouldn't say I hate DA:O - the characters were compelling and the tactics system is interesting once you figure it out - but man, DA2's combat and streamlining is so much more enjoyable to me. Combat in Origins felt like a chore most of the time, and even in 2 I wasn't bothered by enemies appearing out of thin air because I was having fun.
And as lacking as the dungeon stuff was, it wasn't as bad as the damn sloth level in Origins.
Also Brink is easily my biggest disappointent, no questions.
I disliked the fact i couldn't change people's clothing and the fact weapons and armour were tied to class.
I spent most of dragon age the first as a mage in heavy armour using a sword and board. the fact i could in no way replicate this annoyed me. Even if i had to work my ass off and it wasn't a good idea, i don't care, the lack of option was there.
As well, I am picking up awesome warrior stuff, but my main gal Aveline can't use any of it stuck in my craw.
The repeating use of areas didn't bother me too much, it made some contextual sense. The city is only so big, you're going to going back to the same places, it could have been handled better, sure, but it didn't bother me as much as the other two.

The repeated dungeons bothered me when you realise 'Oh, this is the same template as that earlier dungeon, but certain paths are just walled off'
It's been a little while since I played it so correct me if I'm wrong, but I want to say that in these cases the mini-map was cut and pasted and didn't show that an area was blocked off
I hope your vindication is worth my spirit-crushing disappointment and misery, olivaw

Unlocking stuff through those challenges was a pain, because the enemy AI scaled to your level but your friendly AI was dumb as bricks. So you'd be trying to plant those explosives but dudes kept rolling up in a conga line to shoot you. And if you wanted to bring some buddies to help you, tough luck, you can't get upgrades with other human players in your party!
And they wasted a perfectly good story concept, too.
On a different note, I've heard really good things about horde mode so I don't have an issue with GoW3 winning best co-op, but I disagree with their consensus about Portal 2's co-op.
Playing through that all the way with one person was an amazing time.

Portal 2 co-op was so good.
I remember going through the commentary track, and they talked about this one part that me and my partner got stuck on. It was this symmetrical chamber where you had to vault up to a ledge, but we kept shooting past it. We were probably stuck for nearly 10 minutes...
But then I really started to think about the fact that, "Hey, this must be symmetrical for a specific reason," and that's when it dawned on me that in order to not overshoot the ledge we would have to collide with each other.
The commentary track talked about how their testers got stuck for significant periods of time on this level, too, and at one point Valve considered modifying it. But the testers kept telling them how satisfying it was to figure out the solution, so they kept it.
And I'm very glad they did. That level was probably the highlight for me, simply because it felt so good to just stop and think for a second and slowly have all the information click together.

Yep, that part was really good.
I also loved the sense of competition it planted in people, especially with the 'points' tally in the main hub.
I never did get to finish portal 2 co-op. I got like an hour in with two different people and then they both finished it elsewhere. Now I don't even know if I care anymore.

I hear the first one is okay but not worth the price, and the second one is basically fan fiction. confirm or deny.

And DA2's combat was way more fun, and the character building was way more in-depth if you actually looked into the information and what not.

I was adamant about this too, but I'd forgotten that iin Portal 2 he had done the broken turrets and
So I'm ok with it
It's got one of the worst UIs of any game I've ever played
Of course I thought it looked kinda bad before it came out but it is still nice to be vindicated for once

Legacy is pretty cool. The fanfiction thing about the second one is accurate.
