Predicting Origin built into the PC version. Damnit.
Also when are we going to hear about the new vanguard powers
Speaking of new powers, before the old thread got "Virmire'd," anyone talk about how one of the new infiltrator powers appears to be a sticky grenade? Or was that already known?

I mentioned it but no one replied.
That being said...until we get an indepth description Sticky Grenade speaks for itself.
That would be really fun with cloak.
Cloak.
Run behind a group of enemies.
Grenade.
BOOM!
As for the preview though. The only class available seemed to be Soldier and all but 3 of his powers were locked out.
Honestly it looks kind of like the beta they were demoing back in September but with some extra scenes inserted.
I remember something being said about a "proximity mine" power a while back.
That's Garrus's new power.
Isn't Garrus technically an infiltrator? Soldier + Tech skills? Granted, in ME2 they moved away from having your squadmates be lesser versions of Shepard's classes. Maybe infiltrators get proximity mines AND sticky grenades? Though, maybe they're keeping the "loyalty powers" concept and the mine is Garrus' unique skill.
Hmm, I wonder if Kaiden and Ashley will have loyalty powers? Guess that means at least 2 runs if you want to unlock their skills if they keep that mechanic.

i dont think multiple runs of ME3 will be a problem for anyone here.

I think they're doing away with loyalty powers in this one. From what it looks like every one gets comes with everything unlocked.
As for Infiltrators having both those. Unless they let us get a bonus power like in ME1 and ME2 I doubt it.
For the most part every classes skill trees are pretty much identical to the ME2 trees with 1 extra power and an extra general skill that every class has. Sure that will be no different for Infiltrator.
The leaked beta was on the 360 right? Because I was just *ahem* casually browsing some of it and was struck by how much more detailed most of the character models were. Is it just me or did they figure out hot to make the game look considerably better?

I'm actually sad that won't happen.
If I could have my Shepard walk around the Normandy in a pink Polo shirt with stunna shades on...I would.
@Emporium: Yeah, they said they're getting better at using the UE3 engine.

Played through Bring down the Sky for the first time ever on my current ME1 playthrough. I now understand all the hate for batarians forever.
Also, Garrus photobombing my conversations like a boss;
GARRUSBOMB
Has anyone ever figured out a workaround for the stupid LoD bug on Garrus' face?
Edit: Also, having a little trouble with posting inline images apparently...
Well, there is one fix that involves running TexMod on the background. There was some stupid problem in the PC ME1, where the ultra-high res used the medium res textures. I don't remember where I got it, it's been a few years. It was a bit of a pain to run every time you play the game though.
I wonder what the personal missions for the squad will be like.
Maybe you play football with Vega 8->
nah you go shopping for pink collared shirts
Forty minute session of weight-lifting while the spotter aggressively screams "come at me, bro!" Afterwards you chest bump and clasp hands and talk about what a good session it was.
Speaking of Reginald brofist, for those who've watched the videos, what does he sound like? I remember a little while back Bioware was making a big deal over his voice actor, I was wondering if it is someone well known.

He sounds like a generic American dude. His voice didn't really stand out or anything for me.

Ugh. One thing I liked about ME on PC was that I didn't have to deal with Steam...now I'd have to deal with Origin? Lovely.
Also, Darth Nathan, there IS a fix...it involves loading the game through Texmod to replace Garrus' face texture each time though, so, somewhat inconvenient. You can also set up a ridiculously elaborate shortcut system which means you only have to do it once (and you just click on the shortcut after that).
Synthesis on

i don't really understand why auto-updating games is a bad thing, unless it does it at a bad time.
and i've never experienced the other thing - although i bet that would be annoying as fuck.
Because sometimes I have a limited amount of time to play and I'd like to play right now, not wait half an hour for it to finish sucking down the update.

Just upload files a bunch of files until your cap goes back up. It's just like running your car in reverse to get the odometer back down.
Listening to the ME1 soundtrack today has me thinking about finally actually starting ME2 for real this time. Is there a consensus on DudeShep vs FemShep? I went stock male in ME1 just because that image of Shepard was already formed in my mind, but I hear a lot of people swear by FemShep as being voiced more compellingly, especially in ME2.

No consensus, but the average leaning from Dudes In The Know is FemShep is way better in 1, and better in 2, but it's less of a gap thanks to improvements with DudeShep.
And importing is better than changing up, even with the better voice. Import, and then do one on easy as FemShep to get a second run if you like the first. You know, own opinions can form, informed populace, ect.
Just fire the game up and play FemShep for 5 minutes. If you like her, great. I personally thought she sounded too butch in ME1. I think I'm also a bit gay for LooShep, for whatever that's worth.
Maleshep sounds better to me, but apparently I'm in the minority.
Well people that by the male Shepard are apparently in the vast majority. It's just the ones that play female tend to be very vocal about it better people.
I wonder if they're going to cop out and not give adepts an exciting new power again.
It was cool to have Singularity back, but Shockwave was the only new thing on their list and it was completely redundant with Pull and Throw once they hit the Field evolution. They also managed to shell Barrier into three separate loyalty powers and ripped out Stasis entirely until Shadow Broker.
I just hope they don't give them Barrier or Stasis back and call it a day. Get rid of Shockwave for Stasis and give them something new at the very least.
The evolutions like armor-piercing throw should help, but if there isn't a new power maybe shockwave will be cool this time, like they say concussive shot will be.

And more people play soldier than every other class combined.
i think his point is that the majority of people who play the game just accept thedefault in every game they play anyway and thus aren't of importance when it comes to opinions over such things

...yes?
this is why bioware felt compelled to introduce an "action" mode into ME3... 80% of players of ME2 played soldier.
Soldier is also fun to play, like all the classes.
If they had fun playing as soldier then that is the main thing, and if the people that choose action mode in ME3 have just as much fun as people playing the other options then Bioware has succeeded with the game.
Because after looking through the official forums for some more news its annoying to see so many people telling others they are "playing the game wrong"

Rock Band DLC | GW:OttW - arrcd | WLD - Thortar
Will be even better if they make some kind of 'get it off me!' animation like in Halo though.
Battlenet ID: MildC#11186 - If I'm in the game, send me an invite at anytime and I'll play.

is dealing with Steam a problem?
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Sometimes it also likes to auto-update games, even when you've told it not to.

Until very recently I had a pretty low internet cap, a lot of my friends still do.
Having games like tf2 decide they want to download a 1 gb patch can be very annoying when you only have 10 gigs total.

Why I fear the ocean.
I prefer him too.
I can see why people like Hale better but I think she is all together too serious.
