I am pretty sure that means the person in question was a paid subscriber for IGN's bullshit. Which would probably defeat the purpose of saving an additional nine bucks.
It's useful if you were actually suckered into had a subscription to IGN. Otherwise, yeah, you're right.
I've been poking around for about two days now, and the best price i've found is on D2D, outside of the IGN thing.
My lore is a little hazy (I only did the Oblivion main quest once) but isn't Tiber Septim the original incarnation of Akatosh?
I mean, they really aren't. They're gateways of a sort for a god to manifest in the realm, if needed. So, if you think about it, it wasn't so much that the Septim's were kings by divine right as they were literally the most important people on the planet and they had to be protected.
Someone who cares more about Imperial Lore is welcome to adjust that.

According to the wiki:
Tiber Septim is regarded as one of the most famed figures in Tamrielic history. Starting from his service under the Cyrodiilic king Cuhlecain, Tiber Septim fought as general Talos to unify Cyrodiil and finally all of Tamriel, an effort that culminated in with the birth of the Third Empire. Tiber Septim gave his name to the lineage of Cyrodiil Emperors, the Septims. Upon his death he became the god Talos and took his place in the pantheon of the Nine Divines.
So essentially, what
the new Emperor did, would be the equivalent to a new president in the US outlawing knowledge or teaching of George Washington actions. Also, George Washington in this case is equivalent to Jesus and is a religiously worshiped figure. And the president isn't even a duly elected president, but rather stormed the White House by force.
It's no wonder there's a revolt going on at the moment. The dude is basically making bad, oppressive choice, after bad oppressive choice, after taking the throne on a tide of bloodshed.
Also, Talos/Tiber Septim ties into Skyrim pretty heavily:
Soon after this, it became known from the arriving storm that the ancient Greybeards were about to speak. As the nearby villages were being evacuated, Talos, instead, made his way to the Throat of the World where the Greybeards lived. When he arrived, the gags of the Greybeards were removed, and they spoke his name. The world shook in response. The Greybeards told Talos that he would become the chosen one who would defeat the Elves and become Emperor of a united Tamriel.
I'm amazed it hasn't been nuked from orbit by Bethesda's lawyers.
Why?
I mean, he could be playing a legal copy that was just shipped to him a week early. Purely the retailer's fault, not his.
Plus it does bring a lot of attention to the game. Granted, most people who would watch it are people who would buy the game anyway, but I'm sure it would help people who are undecided on it to make up their minds and get it.

A better example would have been
Constantine outlawing (he didn't actually do this in real life though, he was tolerant of all religions) the worship of Julius and Augustus Caesar. The Caesars were deified after they died by the Romans, and Constantine made Christianity the official Roman religion.

True. But with my comparison, I can vaguely pretend this game is going to be the story-line equivalent of a prequel to a medieval Metal Wolf Chaos. Which would be awesome.
Also, I can't believe i'm glad that LP is back. Goddamnit, I need the PC version of this game.

You don't seem to understand, they'll slam Streams of the game when more than likely it's a leaked copy. Yet don't bat an eye at someone doing a full blown Let's Play of it with a few hours of content already recorded?
Would you say no to a dude who can call up city destroying lightning storms with a very loud and angry shout alone?
I will be sorely disappointed if, at some absurdly high level, we can't declare "war" with our voices, like he did in that one older comic. Maybe when we discover all three words to the basic shout, if it increases in power with each word. I want to scream at a dragon so hard he's knocked straight out of the air.
Maybe that'd be a post-game feature. They do mention that those whose shout becomes too powerful cannot speak ever again, for fear of literally tearing the land asunder. Apparently when about five to ten veteran Greybeards shouted at once from the peak of a mountain, every living soul in the world could hear the name they were shouting, so yeah.
Alternatively, apparently the only thing skilled Dragonborn have to fear is the Incredible Hulk?
Well...at the end of the day its up to the site whether or not they take it down.
I'm guessing most of the other people didn't want any problems and just took it down to avoid the trouble.
Not when you're served a Cease & Desist it isn't.
Let's be realistic, most of these sites are so terrified of legal issues that it's very unlikely Bethesda even went that far. It was probably more of a "Hey, can you take this down?" and so they did. I'm not sure why the LP is on-going as its surely gotten enough buzz that Bethesda people know about it. But perhaps either they realized it was silly to keep knocking down streams that're giving them free advertising or the site its hosted on isn't quite so willing to just shut the guy down without actual legal documents coming at them.

It would seem to be pretty good advertising. Just look at the number of views that LP has.
I imagine it was a pretty big break for that guy... if you look at the other Let's Plays he's done, his Skyrim one has, by orders of magnitude, a larger number of views than every other LP he's done combined.
The vids on game anyone are still up, they just load VERY slowly. So the guy who was asking, nothing is wrong with Flash, it's just their servers are getting hit
I see that they kept the ability to pick up items from disintegrated characters that was in Fallout 3. I like the way the undead look now. They are much less gross than what was in Oblivion. It also seems like allot of the spells stream now instead of shooting balls.

Goddamnit, I hate street release dates. Watching this LP is only increasing my hype now. Especially now that the guy is moderately more competent then in his earlier videos.
Street release dates for games come off as pretty goddamned arbitrary nowadays, to me.

It makes sense. I don't know about this guy, but most LPs I've seen are from games that're months or years old, this is one of the most anticipated titles of the year and he's playing it *before* release. I'm actually somewhat amazed that the whole thing isn't completely dead from traffic.

So I gave in and pre-purchased through Steam not saving any money, by mistake cuz I had added it to my cart and didn't pay attention when I bought something else! Yeah for Skyrim, Boo for being retarded?

I guess they make exceptions for Dragonborn...

Anyone have flash player problems with that site? Mine keeps pausing. Real annoying.
"I'm going to make you scream."
World War Hulk was pretty badass. :P

It's like Bethesda is the trainer. We're the dogs. And this is the meat.
I never learn my lesson.
If you pick something up in Skyrim, does the Creation Engine (Cough, Gamebryo) do that jolt, where everything on the same surface moves?
Heck, that's practically tradition now. :P
I actually saw this on my honeymoon. Those dogs are nuts. Also, the smell. Dear God, the smell...

I picture this happening on Midnight Release. I got Saturday AND Sunday off work. I'M SO STOKED!
