So I'm trying to dualcast electricity spells but I can't seem to un-select the fire spell so it always ends up as one hand: fire and one hand: electricity
what obvious thing am I missing here
option 1.
Open magic list, Left click the spell - then Right click the same spell
no need to de-select spells first.
option 2.
open favorites menu
mouse over spark (electricity)
press 1 (not the numpad)
close favorites menu
press 1 two times to dual cast it
So where are some good Mines? As I'm getting higher and higher into smithing, the vendors just aren't selling the higher level ores/ingots, and eventually it's just going to get too expensive to purchase the skill levels.
I know I found a motherlode of Orihalcum once, but in general I've barely seen any mines.
I don't mean to hijack your post (kind of on the same topic), but does anyone know how to process raw ore? I've been carting around mineloads of iron and steel for a while now and have somehow missed the concept of where to go to turn them into ingots.
I had some luck finding corundum in the mountains outside whiterun just running around doing other things, haven't found any higher-level nodes.

Does anyone know if there's a way to dual cast bound weapons and have them not end up in your left hand? That makes it pretty much useless since you can't use shields in your right hand. Hell, while I'm at it, I might as well ask if it's even possible to see how much damage a bound weapon does, because you can't see them in your inventory like you could in previous TES games.

A smelter. There's one just outside Warmaiden's in Whiterun.

You need a blacksmith with the oven shaped thing next to the forge.

There's a smelting thing by some of the blacksmiths that let's you process the ore.

Anyone know where I can sell stolen stuff? I'm in Whiterun currently.
Look for the thief's guild signs. I think it's a circle with lines running through it for the fence. He's located in the area next to the inn, general store.

Ok...just bought the house, now ummm where the heck is it?
Just got my smithing up to 50 and got the perk to be able to craft plate/scale armor, but the recipes aren't showing up. Any ideas? I'm level 20 at the moment.
FWIW, smithing is a very useful skill. When you have high smithing skill and can make [FLAWLESS] items, they're an enormous improvement over the base item. For example, a 16dmg elven dagger becomes 30dmg or so when flawless.

So I kinda leaped before looking in buying Skyrim, it's downloading now. I'm running an Intel Dual Core 3.00 processor, 4 gigs ram, and a GTX 280 - right around the recommended specs. Will I be able to run the game at a ps3/360 comparable visual level, or am I doomed to run the game on minimum settings?

Jesus christ. . .some of these dragon fights are ridiculous. On highest difficulty (so dont come in here crowing about how they are EZ-mode on regular difficulty).
Dovahkiin sees his foe flying in the sky
Shouts with power in the air, soon the dragon dies
The hero claims the dragon's soul, gaining all its strength
TWILIGHT OF THE DRAGONBORN, RAGNAROK AWAITS!
TWILIGHT! OF! THE DRAGONBOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRN! \m/>_<\m/
I was escorting the prisoner from the companion quest back to Whiterun, and dragon #2 drops out of the sky and throws down...with a group of mudcrabs. Then he leaps majestically into the air, flies around and lands to do combat...with three bandits. Seeing me firing arrows into him, he launches himself skyward, twists and dives down...on a sabercat.
I took zero damage while the dragon killed all the monsters in the area. Um, thanks?
"Sometimes things aren't complicated," I said. "You just have to be willing to accept the absolute corruption of everybody involved."
Ok, quick question. Lydia wandered off when I got a temp companion with the Companions. Where does she go? And, if it would be easier, I'm on PC. Can I just summon her to me?

My second dragon was killed mano a mano by a giant right outside Whiterun. First and only time I've reloaded a save. Goddamn giants!

I've got about 10 hours in now and feel like I can safely comment on the game.
-First and foremost, regardless of anything I can think of negative, the game is fantastic and you should buy it.
-The game world is HUGE, astonishingly so, it may not be quite as a big as it seems because some of the terrain is really rough making traveling over it difficult/impossible, but it is really massive and really a joy to explore.
-With all the the size of the game does come a cost, at least until you get some of the map opened up, if you want to get anything specific done, be prepared to travel quite a bit, its not Windwaker style of travel and there is a lot to sidetrack you from your mission, and maybe that's the intent, but if you are trying to get something specific done, be prepared to run around some.
-The horse handles like a tank without treads, and (especially after unlocking an early dragon shout) feels like maybe it should be JUST a little faster to address some of the problems i mentioned above.
-To me at least, the game feels very balanced, I'm sure there are about a thousand ways you could break it and make it super easy by building yourself a super character, but the way Im rolling right now (Heavy Armor, Two Handers, Enchanting, and Smithing) feels just right, I die often enough to make me pay attention but its not teeth crushingly difficult either.
-The dungeons are improved about 500% percent over Oblivion (and i didn't mind Oblivion's that much, i know some folks HATED them), there always seems to be at least somewhat of a theme or an idea behind each place, even if it isn't a huge plan, some of them are still LOLBEARS, but these are the exceptions rather than the rule.
-The PC version does suffer a bit from some minor "Consoleitice" (specifically the interface) but its far from distracting, it could be optimized with KBAM a bit better, but its so far from a deal breaker that its barely worth mentioning.
-While there is an mind blowing number of things to do and things to see and skills to learn, I feel like magic got fleshed out a bit better than Melee did, this could just be because of the different schools of magic when there isn't that much going on for melee, but I would have like to seen an assassination tree or something like it (yes i know sneak is there, no i don't think it counts enough). Just for the sake of having a bit more options for melee combat.
-The game on my PC has ran flawlessly for 10 hours, no crashes, no trouble, no bugs (ATI Video card, AMD Processor), oh and it looks absolutely great (Ultra, with a dash of AA for good measure).
-I'm not sure I have understood any of the criticism for the finishers, I get them all the time as a two-hander, and now (especially with the decapitate perk) I think they are great fun.
-I would have like to seen the ability to add a few more things onto the house rather than just what is offered.
Like I said, all minor criticisms, the game really is a work of art, and just great fun to play.
On the way out, there's a sarcophagus surrounded by 4 pillars, and 4 movable pillars (as well as a secret door that can be opened with just using the Ivory Claw. Incorrect answers result in arrows being shot towards the pedestal/sarcophagus. Anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks for this. I couldn't find him though...is he actually in the inn or general store?
Is anyone else collecting like every book they find? Or am I just weird? I feel like having a huge library in your house is required of adventurers.
I probably will. Maybe its just the first couple I've found, but books seem longer than in Oblivion, where most of them were like 4 pages.
I see a book and i go "ooh this will be worth 50 gold to the general goods merchant! jackpot!"
I think the dragons have gotten word that i will just turn into a werewolf and eat them, played 8 hours today and didn't see a single one , i have 2 shouts i need souls for damnit!

I probably should go steal that as well. I found a sapphire claw so they could be displayed together.
Also: Double daggers, bow, stealth. HAHAHAHA.
Is anyone else having a hell of a time picking perk's usually?
My weight is getting heavy for some reason. Probably all those shitty potions I made. I can't afford to do something like this.
My second dragon was killed mano a mano by a giant right outside Whiterun. First and only time I've reloaded a save. Goddamn giants!
She's back at the Jarl's.
Then again, I may have been on too low a level for that quest...luckily I'm a sneaky archer guy so I just hid and sneak attacked her to death.

It's what I do in every TES game. See book, take book, place book in home.
As I currently have no house yet, Ulghard the Unbroken (or whatever her name was) is currently my companion walking library.
