[Phalla] Vampire - The Masquerade - Game Over! Brujah Victory! Malkavian Victory!
The World of Darkness is a cold and lonely place. Like the world we live in, only dirtier, people live out their lives much like they do normally except that the office is particularly soul crushing and traffic never lets up. But the whole world isn't that bad. The rich and powerful live in massive structures watched over by gargoyles that belong in the most gothic architecture. The rich throw parties and live lavish lives so that they don't notice the legions of the homeless starving in the streets. It is into this world that you step.
Though there are numerous creatures that thrive in the deep darkness, the Children of Caine, the first murderer, is one of the most entrenched. Vampires living off the life of the world around them, they engage in centuries long dances of intrigue and betrayal. Split into thirteen distinct lines that each bear a particularized version of the curse that consumes them as a race, they war amongst themselves. The Camarilla and the “kindred” that make it up holds fast to their fading humanity that they might blend in with the masses that surround them. Even then, they are as peaceful as a nest of snakes. Opposed to them is a smaller group of fanatics that call themselves the Sabbat. The Sabbat accepts their undead nature, and claims all vampires decend from the mythical Caine. Monsters through and through, the Sabbat fear the time when the ancient slumbering vampires awaken and seek to slake their thirst on their childer. The Sabbat believes that the Camarilla are the unwitting pawns of these ancient monsters, and so they engage in a holy war to wipe out those that seek to retain their humanity. It is into this conflict that you step.
This is a phalla designed for your enjoyment. And 58 players. Though more players are possible in particular increments. If you are unfamiliar with what a phalla is, you should read up.
Like a normal phalla, everyone will have a role to play, however, every role is unique in this game and everyone has a cool power to use. Some people have more than one power, you should be jealous of them.
This is a phalla where this is both a mafia and various factions amongst the village. In this case, the village is the various clans of kindred that belong to the Camarilla, and the mafia are the Sabbat war party that seeks their destruction.
The mechanics of this phalla are slightly off from vanilla, but not much. There are no thralls or millers, nor will there be any conversions. However, I do believe that everything else is fair game.
Every day there will be a vote! This vote will be to testify via rumor and hearsay that one of your fellows is a member of the Sabbat war party and needs to be destroyed. There is no need to retract your vote, if you have a change of heart, simply vote for someone else.
All votes must be made by 10 PM EST (as this is where I live). Calculate your own end time appropriately. All votes and power use submissions made PRIOR to 10 PM EST will be counted, any after that time will be counted in the next day.
All kills and guards have a given value. A kill is negated by the same value of guard, and they stack. So, if someone with an attack of a value of 1 hits someone who is guarded with a value of 1, the attack fails. However, if two people with an attack of 1 hit someone with a guard of 1, the attack is a value 2 and overcomes the guard. Ties always go to guards. Some abilities do not have values to them, this means that they function against all levels of attack/defense.
Those with guard abilities may use their guards on themselves in a vain attempt to stay alive.
It is possible to make conclusions based on knowledge of the setting. Knowledge is not by any means mandatory, but it might help.
