Whew, that's good to hear! Now you can plan for the future - like when to introduce your little'un to explosive propellants:
My son is certainly a fan.

Aw, nice! I used to build & launch model rockets with my dad!
Thanks guys. I feel sheepish for hijacking the thread over what turned out to be a mistake of my own creation. At least Lily is okay either way.
@HammerHorror your kid is one handsome devil. Better keep him away from my girls!!

You guys, bear with me please as I vent
I certainly would not call any stay at home mom lazy, or imply that she doesn't work
But I have to do all the same stuff in half the time, so if you can go traipsing off to the park for a play date every other day, then stfu about how you're so stressed and you need a mani-pedi waaah SHUT UP*
*actual shutting up not compulsory, I know I am being a whiny jerk
I am already not looking forward to going back to work; not 9 hour days, at least! I feel bad enough being away from Anya for a half hour, especially as she's been going through a period this week where she just wants me. It's like I'm betraying her when I'm not there.
I feel ya Quoth. My wife and I work full time, and what with all of Lily's issues lately we're really beginning to wonder if either of us can continue after maternity is up. Besides this thread is the place to whine. I know it makes me feel better. ;-)

Mrs. Reaver started having contractions last night; thought we might be going to the hospital but turns out it was just a false alarm. No water breakage and the contractions never got more frequent than 15 minutes apart.
My depleted reserves have really started to hit me over the past couple of days. It's amazing how little sleep I've been learning to deal with. My wife as well.
@Evil_Reaver your little one will be here before you know it, so don't worry too too much.

Oh no...
I'm looking after both kids today while my wife's at the comic con...
They were good for the first hour, but now the boy just won't stop shrieking. He ate before mom left so he shouldn't be hungry. His diaper's freshly changed. I'm heating up a bottle for good measure, but god that sound...
Send earplugs?
Two hours a night Anya will just scream and scream unless I hold her and then it's instant silence
I feel bad for my mother as she's usually the one holding Anya while I'm dashing to the bathroom
Anyway Anya was waaaaay over stimulated this evening (car journey + being passed around relatives) and was not falling asleep for anything until Mori read to her, he has a magical lulling reading voice, yay (god it was sending me to sleep too)
And now I should sleep as last night I got very very little
At least my mother and Mori have been sleeping well! Mori drives so much I am petrified of him not getting enough sleep
Well, it's late, but happy mother's day to all you mothers, especially if this is your first.
I took my mother to the tiger park, and they were giving mothers a free photo session with a tiger cub. After that, we took her on the tour that concludes with interaction with some baby animals, including another older tiger cub. We were playing with the cub who was very excited, and he grabbed my mother's arm in his mouth.
The attendants freaked out, but the cub has been trained not to bite down, so all she ended up with was tiger slobber on her arm instead of a wound.
tl;dr For mother's day, I paid to have a tiger maul my mother. I am the best kid.
Haha! How was your mother? Not too freaked out, I hope?
We went to a restaurant with my mother and DE?AD and his girlfriend. Anya was pretty good, remained asleep until we had nearly finished eating, then I had to go to the car to feed her.

She was disappointed that the tiger didn't actually wound her. Because was a great scar that would be. (She still hasn't gotten over the fact that she doesn't have a scar from haunted scarecrow. We were setting up our Halloween decorations, and she working on the scarecrow. His arm was nailed onto his support stick, and he was holding a real sickle. Just as she bent down to fix his pants, his sleeve tore away from the nail, and his arm holding sickle swung down and barely missed her head. I was watching from the house when it happened, and it was the coolest near miss ever.)
Otherwise, she was totally thrilled to rough around with the cub.

For mothers day, my wife threw up. Twice. Despite her near unending nausea, that actually represents a significant amount of actual vomiting incidents of the last 4 months. For my part, I tried not to draw attention to the fact it was mother's day. She may appreciate the fact that it passed without notice in future.

Yeah, my wife was sick until halfway through the 3d trimester too. I'm just glad I can put garlic on food now without my wife yelling at me. Lily's back home now and mostly ok, but when she gets the hiccups it pulls on her stitches and she gets really upset. Otherwise I'm glad to have her home and no particular problems.

Happy Mothers Day indeed to all the ladies and the wives of the men who post here.
Twas a pretty special day for my wife, and also for the mom's who are now grandmothers.

My 3 year old son has pink eye in both eyes and a cold, both of which he gave to me. Being a parent is fun.

Ick! Pink eye is entirely yucky... though fortunately I've never contracted it myself.
My eldest has a cold now, too, which is just pitiful - she uses a soother still as a comfort/security thing, mostly when she sleeps, so when she can't breathe through her nose she can't have her soother in, which means she doesn't really sleep. And when she doesn't sleep, NOBODY DOES. Nothing like a toddler howling at the top of her lungs at 3am because she *sooo tired* but can't back to sleep... Poor li'l thing (and poor parents).
And there are no baby cold medicines! All the ones I could find were either for 6 years and up, or homeopathic (read: charlatanry). Tynenol & ibuprofen are about it - which help with the fever, but that's all.
I got her the cutest humidifier, though - it's got a whale on top, and the mist comes out of its blowhole. It seems to have helped her sleep; last night we had no freakouts.

Seems like everytime my daughter got pinkeye I got it too. I even washed my hands frequently, but I still got it. Being a parent is fun.

All we can give my son when he is sick is this honey based cough syrup. It doesn't do much, but it does help his cough for a little bit. And he enjoys it.
He does not enjoy the eyedrops the doctor gave us for the pink eye. Every time I say "It's time for your medicine" he says, "In the mouth?" I say no and he says "Nooooooooo". Usually bribing him with getting to ride the school bus is enough. Thankfully he hasn't figured out he's riding it either way.

LOL! I have to figure out how to trick 'em like that.
My daughter actually runs in the other direction if you mention the word "medicine", and so far it's always been oral... I think we'd have to get out the restraint straps if she needed eyedrops.
