I don't see why having a character getting shitfaced at 15 is in any way really remarkable. I mean, yeah, I wouldn't want my kid doing that, but it's not like it's unprecedented in entertainment, and it sure as hell happens in real life.

second, a new duplicate universe gets created with a few minor differences, like the child/guardian switch
