I am amazed at how well the dragons lock onto you. They will twist their necks all the way around to track you. It makes it hard to get away from their fire blasts.
Having finished the mage college questline, I have a rather important question:
Am I unable to buy magic now? I mean, what the fuck? I'm still stuck with the starter-level destruction spells, and it sucks.
Magic college, y u no sell magic?
...What.
I finished it and I buy magic from them all the time

This. The damn things are like Linda Blair. Next fight I am not bothering with trying to FUUUS them, I am just keeping whirlwind sprint ready so I can dodge.
Does anyone have tips for using stealth effectively? I sneak up slow but can rarely get close enough to actually melee someone, which is a shame because I have the x16 dagger backstab perk.
I'm also getting to the point where there's a noticeable jump in difficulty. Bandit marauders can two-shot me... I'm lv18 at the moment.
What I'm curious about, in the Stealth field, is this... It is 2am in Whiterun, I pick the lock to a house, sneak in, going slow, and BOOM Someone catches me doing nothing? Don't these fuckers sleep? Or, is my armor(Light) and sneak just not perked up enough that I'm making that much noise?
So, how does leveling work in this one? Like, do monsters scale with you? Does the world stay at a certain difficulty and you just become godlike over time?

Did you know that the stealth roll preserves your sneak status?

Who are you buying from and where can I find them? The only person selling any kind of books is the dude in the library, and none of those are even spells. The mage questline got like 3 or 4 of the college mages killed. I'm pretty sure they were the ones that were able to sell me stuff.
This is my sig.
There are many others like it, but this one is mine.
So far the only way I can kill them is by running for my life until I reach some giants or guards.
We hit them with sharp things or set them on fire or fill them with arrows or shout at them until they stop moving. You should try one of these things, or perhaps a combination, until you too can make the bad lizards go away.
Now made it to my second city, Windhelm. I wasn't planning on going there yet but it seemed most expedient after I came back down from Hrothgar. The bar for design was set high by Whiterun, but Windhelm doesn't disappoint. It's fully realized with its own feel totally distinct from Whiterun: all dank and cramped and bleak, with lots of narrow winding alleys that change elevation. Of course, the fact that I arrived in Whiterun in the morning and Windhelm at night probably helped to underscore the difference in aesthetics.
Plan is still for Winterhold to be the next destination, can't wait to see what that place is like!

It depends on the environment for me. If it's a wide-open area with little in the way of obstructions (or if there's a thing-that-shall-not-be-named-napping-right-underneath-the-dragon-to-beat-the-living-crap-out-of-you-when-you-go-to-collect-the-shout) then I'm in for a world of hurt.
But if there's even just one tall rock or pillar then I can just hide behind it when he breathes and pop out over and over again to zap him to death.

I pretty much use bows on everything at all times. They work well for dealing damage and getting them down out of the sky. Make sure you're always moving when they breath fire, for some reason it lowers the damage even though they pretty much lock you. Also, arrows placed at soft spots seem to do more damage on armored targets/dragons. Shooting them in the eye/neck/chest seems to do more damage and even causes bloody spotting on their face/chest.
Oh, and some dragons are harder than others. You might just have bad luck.
Edit: An enemy with a shield/plate is always the worst. I just try and neck them when they turn to swing. I'm starting to prefer neck shots to even a headshot. Always love when an enemy charges me spouting something... that always seems to end in GLARGLE!

its the opposite for warriors, if its a wide open space i can take two or three fire blasts no problem until it lands then waltz up and cut its head off, if there are pillars or something so the bastard won't land and just lands on them out of my reach and flames me, gg.

Well I hate to tell you, but...
There's not much there. The city was destroyed.

Huh, none of them died when I did it. You can also buy spells from the court mage guy at Whiterun, and some other mages (don't remember offhand). The ones at the college are just for training and are guaranteed to have the best spells available at your level.
So does the sparks/flames spell just kind of suck later on? I don't see how it could possibly be worth using if its damage doesn't scale in any way. 25% extra from a perk isn't really going to cut it.

Fuck. Well the only reason it was my priority is because of the mages college, and that questline is supposed to be good, so I can deal with it.
So, how does leveling work in this one? Like, do monsters scale with you? Does the world stay at a certain difficulty and you just become godlike over time?
It's similar to Fallout 3 in that enemies level up with you, but each area has a level cap for the enemies there. So enemies in the starting areas might be only capable of scaling up to ten or something. I heard that dungeons, on the other hand, take a snapshot of your level when entering, and the enemies scale up to that level. So if you find it too hard, you can leave and they will stay at that level forever.
Also, does anyone know how all the resists in the game work? Like lets say I have 50% magic resist and 50% fire resist, some dude casts a firebolt at me, do I take 50%, 25%, or no damage from it? What about dragons breath? Does MR from multiple sources add, or apply separately? Having trouble finding this out.
Anybody understand resists? UESP wiki is usually good for all this but I can't find anything anywhere.
Hrm...found an orc named "Old Orc" or something like that. Said he wanted to die in glorious battle or something. "Heck yeah, this guy has Umbra" I thought. So we have our epic fight, I tank him while my mage companion chick freezes the heck out of him, and he goes down. I go to loot him and he doesn't have anything on him. Dang.
So my problem seemed to resolve itself. I went to Solitude, and after some wandering around, the game crashed. Nothing to bad right?
When I got back in, I found out that all my saves since I entered Solitude were corrupted. I couldn't load in, pretty much the entire character was lost to the warp (I have a single save from when I was level 10...it got corrupted at 24).
Lesson here? Make a few saves if you think about it.
At least I got a chance to roll Gazthuk, the Orc Barbarian.

Yeah I think it's highly likely your book sellers got killed in that final part of the quest chain. The instructor guy you meet at the start, he sells general books, theres another guy that sells conjuration ones.

Is there any way to rotate grabbed objects so I can place them nicely in my house? God forbid you every knock anything over in your house because you are never getting it back.
I know I should be out adventuring but playing Barbie dream house adventure is way too much fun.

Holy goddamn, if I could get rid of that bar at the top (and I made a save so that I can, when there's a mod to do it) this would be my new desktop bacgkround. Spoilered for 1920x1200.
Fuck Labyinthian. Fuck it. Fuck it to hell. Fuck it and its stupid fucking hard boss. Fuck it.
That guy is the worst. I was only able to kill him by
Using the Sanguine Rose to summon dremora to fight him. They would usually only get 2 or 3 hits in, but the staff was fully charged so it was just a matter of wearing him down.

Anyone how to make those damn Chaurus bugs die faster?

I had no idea they were so mean. I just hit them with fireballs until they fell over. Ten points for Rangedcombatdor, I guess.
at rank 1 it's pretty underwhelming

Burning Souls is better. It deals fire damage and sets them on fire. I'm wondering if there are electric and frost versions.
Also, where is this daedric armor people are getting?
