Fuck Labyinthian. Fuck it. Fuck it to hell. Fuck it and its stupid fucking hard boss. Fuck it.
That guy is the worst. I was only able to kill him by
Using the Sanguine Rose to summon dremora to fight him. They would usually only get 2 or 3 hits in, but the staff was fully charged so it was just a matter of wearing him down.
I dont even know what that
summon
is. Im level 10 with a bunch of t1 spells and an axe. Its going...less than well.
That seems like a very, *very* low level to be there at, you might be below the minimum level it can set monsters to which is what is making it so hard.
I did this quest at level 14, which was probably still too low for that area. Managed to kill that bitch of a boss, here's how.
equip a weapon and coat it with magicka poison. Cast a summon to distract him momentarily, then used the slow time shout to get to him quickly before he starts casting spells. I then wailed on him repeatedly until he died. He cast no spells on me when I did this, because he had absolutely no mana.
Can you keep playing after you beat the quest? Just running around country side?
Yes.
But there's no more dragons right? So would it be bad to do it before getting most of the shouts?
I believe they continue spawning.

I would just like to go on record as saying that the story of this game makes me happy for the same reason the opening of Witcher 2 does (and the Dragon Age series to an extent)
In so many games dragons are like, just part of the setting. "Oh, a dragon, cool story bro let's kill it and move on."
In the opening of Witcher 2 the reaction is literally OH FUCK A DRAGON WE'RE ALL GOING TO FUCKING DIE.
Dragon Age is kinda like that, and this game is a lot like that, and I like that. Dragons are gigantic flying reptiles that breath all sorts of crazy spells. They are scary. They SHOULD inspire people to shit themselves.
So I beat up some lady in a bar. She was so impressed that she was willing to follow me to the ends of the earth and carry hundreds of pounds of shields, and pelts and ore. Then, while I was looking for a book, she got killed by a ghost dual-wielding swords. After running around a catacomb spraying fire everywhere and making pincushions out of everything (and nearly dying myself), I returned to her corpse.
...to loot all the stuff I had made her carry.
I buried her under all of the shields that I couldn't bring back with me. And took her steel plate armor to give to my next pack mule...apprentice.
Can you remarry if your wife/husband "accidentally" dies in battle?
Fuck Labyinthian. Fuck it. Fuck it to hell. Fuck it and its stupid fucking hard boss. Fuck it.

Yeah, I cheesed that guy like hell.
I just climbed onto the platform that the enthralled wizard was on, crouched, and backed up just enough that he couldn't hit me with his lightning but I could hit him with my arrows. He never stopped trying, even after the 30 or so arrows I put in him :P.

So, repair is gone, but you can improve weapons/armor, which is similar to being able to repair over 100% in oblivion, right? Is the smithing tree the only way to improve items, or can you pay NPC's to do it? Also, are improved items permanent?
So some guy wanted to tag along with me when I went to Eldergleam or whatever it was. Now, I always have some misgivings about this sort of thing, but I figured I'd let him. I lose the guy pretty quickly, I figure it's probably for the best. So I'm most of the way there, and I check out a location and whooooops it's a troll camp
So I decided to try it and suddenly a giant runs up and clubs the troll, now he's after me, I have no health so I just book it at full sprint
I manage to scramble down a cliff face and when I look up the giants stalking around up there. And I watch for a second, and a flash of a man-shaped shadow goes off the cliff. I think my guy may have caught up.
I couldn't find his body.
Yea, I lost him too on the way there. Its much to dangerous a journey for some unarmored fop.
I suppose I will see what the purpose of him coming on the trip was supposed to be next playthrough..
If you don't want to wait:
Completing that quest without him gets the other worshippers at the tree killed, completing it with him lets them live
Finished up the DB quest line today. That shit be awesome.
When you summon Lucien and he sees Shadowmere he says 'Ah, Shadowmere, my old friend' and I just started giggling
I'm quite the assassin sneaking around in my full Dwarven plate wielding Wuthraad (or however it's spelled).

Is 1 second soul trap on weapons fine if I don't want to bother casting the real spell? I would love the look of stopping the assault with my main weapon to pull out the dagger that will PIERCE YOUR SOUL AND COMMIT YOU TO THE STAR
I guess I would have to recharge it eventually but 400 charges is more than generous
I love how people on reddit are complain about the graphics in this game. What magical times we live in a game this fucking gorgeous looking can come out and be nitpicked by people online.

I really think people's fanboy glasses are clouding their eyes tbh, it's a great game, an amazing game, quite possibly GOTY,the artistic direction is also great, but there's no arguing against the fact it's meh from a technical graphics standpoint.

All I know is that it's the best looking open world game that I've ever played.
p.s. Azura's Star is the bee's knees, I just go look for something big to kill whenever I want a fancy new piece of gear.
I made a game! Hotline Maui. Requires mouse and keyboard.

I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy I just think this game looks really good (playing between High and Ultra). Maybe I just haven't played the game that blows this out of the water graphically, what did I miss?

So the game is driving me crazy.
It is driving me crazy because knowing that Fortify Smithing items exist makes me keep questioning whether I should put off making armor, and knowing that my enchanting is Way Too Low to get the maximum possible benefit makes me hesitant to enchant things at all.
I just made a full suit of dragon scale armor at +79% Smithing (+40% potion and 3x +13% apparels) and I just keep thinking "BUT IT COULD BE BETTER!"

Honestly whatever exists doesn't matter, and you can't really try to compare too many games with Skyrim. Sure there are those with technically better graphics, but how many of them are running in a massive freely traversable game world?

That's true, but I mean while it's understandable why it doesn't have amazing graphics, and they might be good for what it is, i have a hard time calling them anything but mediocore when we have things such as battlefield 3, or hell even crysis 2 to compare it to. And i just can't see why people rave about them and call them amazing due to that.

I'm more impressed by the scalability of the graphics.
Running ultra on a 3-4 year old machine and no stutters is a good thing in my book. Sure it's no Crysis 2 levels of graphics wankery, but the cohesive world and style makes up for the shortcomings.

Well I missed both Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 and probably won't be getting them anytime soon since I haven't heard good things about Origin.
Show of hands: is there anybody who DOESN'T have a dragon skeleton in the courtyard of the Mages College right now?
I had just barely had time to listen to my first lecture and check out my new digs, then I wander up to the top of the tower, step outside, feel the wind whipping in my face and hey what's that sound, wait I recognize this dramatic music oh shit oh shit oh shit.
Me and this frost dragon played hawk-and-hare for like 5-10 minutes, him circling around the tower, me crouching in corners and behind the railing, trading frost breath and firebolts when he lands on the walkway, for like 5-10 minutes. Then some of the other mages actually decide to take their thumbs out of their butts and come outside to see what the commotion is. It was over pretty quick after that. Would have been over quicker, but I consistently aim my firebolts too high.
This game is soooo good. Completed the College of Winterhold quest line, and dicked around. Got to level 14, decided to advance the story a bit, learned some things from the Graybeards and am pretty badass. I even defeated two giants at once! Granted I do have a "Conjure Flame Atronach" spell, which is the best spell btw.
Serious GOTY contender here :^:
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

I'm quite the assassin sneaking around in my full Dwarven plate wielding Wuthraad (or however it's spelled).
Is there a way to improve wuthraad? Otherwise, it seems pretty dull even compared to even the skyforge weapon you get earlier on in the questline.
It's comparable to the weapons I have now (exquisite dwarven warhammer, battleaxe, and skyforged greatsword) and I know you can enchant it. I imagine you can improve it but I haven't looked yet.
Made my character a dual ax wielding/ light armor Nord. He likes long walks, pie, and shoutin' at stuff.
For some reason he looks likes John Shepard, Jack Shepherd (Lost), Arnold Schwarzenegger and my brother combined, except with a Clint Eastwood squint and a burly beard.
Oh my god, such an awesome dungeon. For reference, I was level 17 as a pure mage and had nothing but Tier 2 magic spells.
Started off with just myself against all the skeletons plus skeletal dragon, since Lydia got locked out of the room and I didn't notice the portcullis lever til the end. Summoned my flame atronach, pulled out my lightning bolt and rune (I'm shock spec) and went to town, switching to firebolts which did more damage vs. the dragon's weakness.
I continued on, fighting through many mans, but no particularly hard enemies until Lydia and I got to the spectral draugr lord guy, who pummeled me a time or two with his shouts before I finally got him down.
Morokei was a doozy, since the only things saving me were my Atronach birthsign and my Breton magic resistance. Lydia got a few hits in while I sniped from above with frost dart (which seemed more effective than fire, and the boss was resisting my shock spells). We jockeyed a bit, me dodging him while pelting him with my own attacks, ducking behind a pillar if his lightning hit my health and didn't get absorbed (his spells are so powerful that he can bring my 390 magicka up to full from near-empty if I absorb them).
I finally got him down to a small amount of health and got a bit too overconfident and sprung out of cover with little magicka left, only to get hit with a lightning bolt that didn't get absorbed, bringing me down to really low health. Just as I'm about to bite it, Morokei gets a greatsword through the chest, courtesy of Lydia, who recovered enough health just in time to save the day.
So good. The Atronach sign is ridiculously great in Skyrim, especially since it only slows magic regen, and not kill it outright.

Hey you guys this game looks so bad graphics are shit amirite lol.
In other news, I can't believe I initially hesitated on whether Kyne was worth it. It is such a great utility shout . Oh fuck, a sabercat. KYNE. Niiiice kitty. Lie down. Good kitty. I'll be on my way now.

There are still dragons flying around. As for why this is that's a major plot spoiler. I'll let you experience the badass ending for yourself.

Fos Ro Dah
is one of the first dragon shouts you learn. Imagine force push on steroids.
Fus Ro Duh is a dragon shout.
