definitely sounds like its Jupiter that I'm seeing.
e - Its been pretty consistent. Like for over a year I've been seeing it, so probably not a comet or anything transient like that.
if it's been in the same spot in the sky for a year it's not a planet. Planets travel. That's actually how they get their name. Planet means "Wanderer"
If it's a planet, it will sit on the plane of the ecliptic. It's an invisible line that the sun and moon and planets travel along the sky.
Also it won't flicker like stars do.
It's hard to say whether Jupiter or Venus is brighter, that can be altered by a lot of factors. Saturn can be very bright too.
What city are you watching from?
Near Toronto, in Canada.
Yeah I don't know if its moving relative to constellations. When I mean I consistently see it, I don't mean in the same place necessarily - I just mean that on most nights I tend to notice it up there. Its noticeably one of the brightest "stars" up there, however.
Hell I'm going out for a smoke right now, I'll tell you guys what I see. Hopefully the sky is clear.
Trying to remember, which X game is it where Sigma is disgustingly, ridiculously difficult, even with the uber armor? 3? I think it was the one with the golden ultimate armor.

They have a great observatory set up in the hills near the city here. It was about $30 to go up there and have a tour and look at some cool planets and constellations, it was fantastic.
It really is one of the best things about living in a relatively less populous capital city, that the light pollution won't stop you from seeing the stars at night

After living in the city for close to ten years now, I go home to my childhood home in the deep country and I always forget how many night-sky objects I can see out there. I can see Andromeda with the naked eye out there.
when i first read it i thought the quote had him saying he "beat them with a feather" and i was like "oh neat it's some sort of new-agey love-centered form of parenting!"
then i went back and reread that part and i was all "oh feather duster the rest of this paragraph makes way more sense now"

I loved both of those games but I could only get to the second level of Castlevania.
Well, they were both made by Konami's NES development team.
