So, I ordered a Saber figma from Japan and it's coming with this free Fate/Extra CCC game. Should be here within a week. :P
Two things come to mind watching youtube videos of /Extra CCC.
1. Holy shit is this way better than the first game and I WANTS IT IN ENGLISH!
2. I absolutely love how far they went with equal-opportunity fanservice.
Bikinis for the girls? Speedos for the boys! Nude CGs with flowers covering the sensitive bits for girls? Nude CGs with flowers covering the sensitive bits for the boys! Naked transformation scenes with dramatic lighting and flower petals covering the sensitive bits? We have that for the guys too! (NSFW absolutely fabulous Gilgamesh.)
I honestly can't complain. If you're going to pander, might as well pander equally so I can laugh my ass off.
2. I absolutely love how far they went with equal-opportunity fanservice.
Well, I wouldn't entirely call it equal-opportunity as most of the female cast (even Saber) are crazy-endowed, including whatever the hell Passion Lip is supposed to be (I feel dirty just typing that name).
Is Saya no Uta officially out? The store page says shipping and seems to only offer the download version as a physical/download bundle. That's pretty lame.
Oh, and Crimson Shroud (3DS) is on sale. Does that qualify as a Visual Novel? I'm wondering if it's worth getting.

Just checked. Offers all three. Physical or Digital for $25, both for $30.

Speaking of Nitro+ Visual Novels, their 2hr long mini-VN Dra+Koi just had a fan translation released. Not only is it fucking hilarious (and pokes fun at most anime cliches) but it also possess a very metal Drakengard/Nier style soundtrack.
Guy meets psychotic dragon girl. Psychotic dragon girl tries to eat guy for lunch. Interject insane and demented son-complex Anti-Dragon Defense Force General mother who clearly has issues. Read with a large bag of popcorn.

It's fantastic. I think I even made a thread here that no one posted in.
Yeah, I see no reason not to nab it, either. At $5 it certainly sounds like a steal.
Speaking of 3DS, when I imagined a sequel to Liberation Maiden, I didn't quite expect it to be a dating-focused Visual Novel.
I might have been on-board if you were playing as Shoko as she bounces between diplomacy and robot fighting, but it sounds like you're just playing some faceless male aide who scores with all her cabinet members on the side (and probably Shoko too).
JAST as of recently has been hiring the people that made fan-translations to do the official ones.
They've done this with Aselia the Eternal, School Days, Demonsbane, and Saya no Uta that I know of (at least).

Oh, I didn't know that. Good on them, I couldn't see a single thing worth changing in the original translation.
Did they also fix the technical issues? You had to go through a few hoops to get the game working properly, like changing your keyboard language to Japanese. There was also this annoying issue where you had to hit the confirm button/key twice to change between scenes.
Awesome! Looks like Blood Drive returns to the style of the first game. I LOVED the original Corpse Party but haven't been that thrilled with Book of Shadows. I'm on chapter 4 or 5 now... I dunno, it's just not as scary with just static environments and complete visual novel style. The original one was freaky because stuff happened that I had to react to quickly and I never knew when or what that was going to be... With this one I just go around reading descriptions of scary things....
A lot of it was due to the fact that you were retreading the same ground, so you already knew a lot of what would happen. The game was more of an expansion than a true sequel.
So Blood Drive is hitting both PC and Vita, right? All I want to know is which version will get localized first, because that'll be the one I get.

I missed it but what is Blood Drive?
Also, J-List had a booth at the con and I bought a copy of Saya No Uta. I was buying a shirt and suddenly realized that the booth was loaded with hentai games. It was weird to see at con and weird that they focused on that when J-List has lots of awesome food stuff. Either way I got a cool Totoro/Mononoke shirt and Saya No Uta.

Blood Drive is the direct sequel to the original Corpse Party game. Book of Shadows was a bonus side-story of sorts, but the final chapter bridges the first game and leads into Blood Drive.
Corpse Party 2, strangely enough, will be an entirely different story.
And that shirt's awesome. I still have my Mononoke shirt from the time the film came out.

Oh, awesome. When are they planning to release Blood Drive?

So, um, holy shit. Corpse Party is going to make me piss my pants. I have to put it down between rooms.
The audio is so unbelievably well-done. Playing it with headphones is like begging to die from a heart attack.

It's considered the best use of binaural audio around.

So I haven't been playing Saya no Uta much, I wanted to play it like I did Corpse Party. Only at night with headphones. Haven't had a chance to though. I played tonight though. God damn.
I got to the part where Omi walks into Fuminari's house and shit goes down. That was intense. I kind of had a feeling something was up with Saya but damn. And then the hospital stories. Either way this game so far is really interesting.

Yeah, Saya no Uta is one hell of a ride. It's also not choice-heavy, so I highly encourage you to check out other endings once you get one. I feel like there's a surprisingly wide spread between "well hey, that didn't go so badly for this kind of story" and "hooooly WHAT".
I don't know if I can actually beat this game, I think I'll have nightmares for a month or more. I say this as someone who beat Amnesia in a day without getting too scared.

I do have a tendency to save right before I have to make a decision. I feel very cheesy doing that.
Speaking of which, I got to the first decision and I picked the not go back one and the way Fuminari is so alright with everything now is fairly dark. I've always really enjoyed psychological horror type stuff so I'm really enjoying the game but I don't want to finish it too quickly.

Look at it this way: you're the only chance they have of getting out. If you abandon the game, you're abandoning the cast to Heavenly Host.
Which reminds me, Ever17 was listed on a Steam database thingy, so...well, we'll see.
Hopefully it'll include dual language support with the voice and BGM upgrades from the console version.
The version I got was the Chinese PC version though, published by T-Time. The English patch I found for the Japanese version seems to crash it with a white screen and blank dialogue box when I select New Game. Any ideas how I can get the English working on this?

Still curious if anyone has tried the localized version of Saya no Uta yet. I'm wondering if the translation is as good as the fan-made one.

The translation is literally the guys who did the fan-translation, so it has to be about on-par with the original!

I really hope these get localized, though my gut tells me even if they did they would be released separately from the NA Blu Rays.

Ever17 was the VN that I've been hankering to play the most since it's from the makers of 999.

2. Share one?
Bummer. Guess that is good though since I still need to get a copy of 999 and VLR.

As fugly as the art is, apparently it's easy enough to mod it with the PS2 sprites/music/voice.

Very NSFW, heavy gore:

There's also a trailer for Dead Patient, which apparently is being released episodically on PC:

I was thinking that with Fate and Steins:Gate both having threads that we should have a Corpse Party one, too.
Only issue is it might be too NSFW for D&D.
