I need a little input. I just picked Corpse Party back up after transferring the game to my Vita, and I intend to finish it pretty soon. Book of Shadows sounds like it's just a retelling of the first game. Is there enough new content in there to justify picking it up after beating the first one?

I'd say so. It's not a retelling in the normal sense, it's more like everyone got groundhog day-d back into the game. It also plays completely different than the first one.

Indeed. In addition, if you're going to be interested in Corpse Party: Blood Drive, it is a sequel to Book of Shadows' story, not Blood Covered's. So yeah, Groundhog Day, with a different outcome.

I was wondering what the differences were with Hatoful Boyfriend on Steam and the original version. I got the latter from some humble bundle a bit back, but haven't tried it yet. I was wondering if the Steam version is the way to go.
I don't suppose I'll be upgraded to the Steam version for free, either? I'm still wondering if I'll be upgraded to Higurashi once that finally hits Steam.

1080p HD pigeons, new dialogue, new Azami route, new music and backgrounds.
Steam version is more compatible with modern OS but I didn't have a problem with the Groupees original version. You won't get a free upgrade to Steam because it's a different version.
Yo, Planetarian isnow up on Steam. $7.50 right now. Played it before it was sold, and it's a very nice little game. Basically a sentimental sci-fi short story.
Type-Moon is infamously guarded about their licensing, so I doubt F/SN will ever come to Steam. Then again, the same was said of Key, and look what happened to Planetarian and Clannad.
At least Steins;Gate and Saya no Uta are officially localized and out in English to buy. The others Snugs listed are great, but one must download a fan translation to play them in English.
I'm still going through Grisaia no Kajitsu slowly, reading it off and on instead of really focusing on it. I really appreciate the main/player/viewpoint character. It also has some.... interesting choices you have to make. It starts off with this idea that it's going to be Katawa Shoujo with mental issues instead of physical ones..... but nope, it's that and more. These girls are involved and/or connected to some serious shit and your military-jargon MC has a very particular skill set.

It's a pretty great VN.
MAGES., 5pb. and Science Adventure Team’s critically acclaimed STEINS;GATE will be coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita systems in 2015, for both Europe and North America.
The game's already released on PS3/PSVita in Japan. They just have to add in the translation.
The game isn't released on PS4 over there so it would require actually porting the game.
I just started playing Steins;Gate on PC before the PS3/Vita news broke. It's really good so far.
Do we know yet whether the new version will have the same translation as the JAST release for PC?
I don't see why it wouldn't. Why redo something that's already done right? The JAST release is the same team that did the original fan translation, just with better editing, oversight, and polish. This happens a lot with visual novels.
I have a question. Do you have to play Chaos;Head before Steins;Gate? I didn't realize it was a sequel.
No.
There's some reoccurring characters and references between Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes, but they're not sequels in the traditional sense. They just take place in the same world. They're also all very different in theme and mood.
Bought Song of Saya on the advice of (Despite the warnings of?) this thread and quite liked it; I needed a good horror story after a stressful work week.
I've played through a couple other VNs, but I'm pretty hesitant on the genre because I'm always worried that I'm going to try one where I'll play for 20 hours and then realize that I made a bad choice just after starting and the only way out is to go back and start over with a faq in hand. Knowing in advance that there weren't many branches was actually instrumental in trying this one out

Not sure I like their release plans or their pricing structure. It's probably a long shot that people who owned the original translated release will get the Steam version for free, but I'm still hoping for that.

Excited to see they're using updated visuals. The old ones were like... really really bad.

They can be, but Ryukishi07's OG art is known for its expressions, and Higurashi's no exception.

Yeah. The first VN is amazing. Easily one of the best main characters. I'm waiting for novels 2 & 3. The official translation is also being done by the fan-translators of the first game who did such an amazing job.
Keep in mind that, if it's the same as the Japanese version, the censored version doesn't just cut out any H-scenes. It also greatly cuts and tones down the violence, the gore, the language... everything. Outside of the game's great sense of humor, this is a more mature game that deals with PTSD and other highly emotional damages from being places in super shitty situations and the censored version (imo) tones it down too much with what they cut and you lose the impact.
Luckily, both versions are being brought over officially.
Denpasoft, the "Totally Not Sekai Project yet it's owned by the exact same people and releases Sekai Project's non-all ages games and uncensored versions", is releasing Digital and maybe Physical versions of the uncensored version outside of Steam.
No to the first question, because they've been mum on release dates. But it should be at the same time or right afterwards.
Yes to the second question.
As for Steins;Gate, I'm wondering if I should buy the Vita version. I have my Collector's Edition of JAST's PC release right here in front of me.

From reading reviews the story, and characters were all highly received but the gameplay was only adequate, mostly because of grinding.
It is a visual novel first and foremost.

Also, Atlus localizing stuff like this when they passed over a mainline Persona game and left it unlocalized.

Also it gives me a massive Flower, Sun, and Rain vibe too. Helps that it has the same composer.

This is totally an interesting premise as long as it's just about a female knight protecting her princess. Does it stick to that?

Steins;Gate Zero. Wow. (Relative spoilers for Steins;Gate proper.)
Also, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is a VN that's out and that almost no one is playing! I enjoy it, anyway.

Waiting to pass QA for the US release. June for Europe.

More importantly, is the censored content really that important to the story? Sounds like it's much more than just H scenes or violence.
