I assume these global warming sensationalists are just really enthusiastic about the magnetic poles shifting. The equator moved, oh no we're all doomed.

Yeah, from what I've heard, medical care in the military is generally pretty crap.
It varies. Generally, my experience with it has been very good. The pink eye case happened in St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, the main basic training facility for the Canadian Forces. Their medical staff there are constantly inundated with everything ranging from whiny people not wanting to do PT to people who have broken a few bones falling off the CF-98 (a crossing about 30ft in the air that you do by shimmying over a thick rope, until a couple years ago it didn't have a safety net). So in their case, I understand the "pink eye? take the medicine and leave" attitude, it is a common illness in a large facility like St. Jean and they have generally more serious and annoying problems to deal with.
Now, in Edmonton, I went in regarding a medical issue and got some of the best care I have ever had. I explained the issue I was having, the symptoms, etc., and the doctor actually bothered to listen (unlike the civvy doctors I have run across), which resulted in him giving me prompt, proper care that quickly resolved the issue. The same goes for dental here, it is possibly the best dental care I have ever had, although I admit, they are not gentle about it.
So, basically, case by case, depending on the base and the amount of bullshit they need to deal with.

Postnote: Ugh, these high doses of prednisone are fucking with my thought processes on more than just an emotional level it seems, hard to get my thoughts altogether on this so bare with me a bit if I jumble things.
First of all, if you talk about it you can't call it "Global Warming." That was an utterly retarded terminology that was put forward a while back and is completely inaccurate in describing the science, to my understanding. It's understandable that these stupid little comics come out about how bloody cold it is and smirking at 'global warming' since those semantics just beg people to smugly point out how cold it is.
But since there are so much monetary interests involved with the issue, I can't really tune into any news about it without taking a huge hand of salt from the Gondonesian Salt Labor Mines. The full monty would be that there is A: drastic, possibly catastrophic, climate change going on and B: there is a definite human element of causation which we can effect. One thing I hear a lot about part B is that the 'best' thing humans can do for stopping A is by genociding Cows and starting insect farms to replace the protein. Something I always found disconcerting is when people say "It doesn't matter if B is true or not, the practices involved with B are good enough that if its fudged a little or if we're flat out wrong, people should be doing them anyway."
I've also heard that some of the steps people commonly associate with the 'green' movement, including many forms of recycling, are a net-zero in saved enery or even a net loss. I think recycling and ethanol are the two big ones pointed to, and its specific forms of recycling. And people, if challenged on this fact, will not be discouraged at all from continuing with the practice.
But I find it more disconcerting that these things are pointed out by the same people who will backpedal the shit out of 'intelligent design' and make the most bullshit of bullshit sound like legitimate science if its given only a cursory glance. I haven't been able to form a solid opinion about this in recent years because of the Evolution v. Intelligent Design thing, where when I actually did the research on the 'objections' to evolution I discovered that it's all just mumbo jumbo that sounds good because it twerks with the common sense of laypersons. It simplifies things to such a degree that analogies are easily made which do not work at all because of their anecdotal simplicity.
On the contrarian movement to the whole thing, I once had a professor show a correlation between a raise in the global temperature and the closing of hundreds of U.S.S.R. climate research stations which figured into the average. Since I have not heard this cited at all since then, I can't claim its good science. Likewise, I was shown graphs on how drastic global climate change has been happening for the past 200 years, with the global temperature going up and down, with us just happening to be following a curve on the uptick in perfect concert with expectations. And since it's again from the same group that would be quick to talk about how intelligent design has some 'good points' in science, I don't know how much credence to give it.

Took three years of being given motrin and getting told to walk it off before I finally got an MRI on my back to find out how jacked up my discs were.

I love global warming and how it will achieve the vaunted goal of killing the poor much more effectively than any military or police force.

Actually... why don't conservatives want to believe in global warming? Why is this even a political issue?

Yeah, I won't dare to comment on the U.S. military, although I haven't really heard anything great about their medical system. Makes me a little cautious of volunteering for any exchange type programs with the U.S. Navy.

I do earnestly wonder how many lives the onion has ruined or how many lost business hours have been spent putting out onion fires.

Because lots of money from industries with a vested interest in denying reality for profit.

This is wrong on so many levels. First of all, it should be 'lactated', unless the liquid is itself producing milk.
Second, um, no? I tolerated a nice big glass of milk just a few hours ago. It was great.
the twenty seconds it took you to drink that glass of milk shortened your lifespan by TWENTY seconds!
fyi retarded hippies, the ability to digest cow's milk is an evolutionary advancement
