Is it normal for a jet to crash into a helo, destroy it and than fly off like nothing happened to it? Because if so...That's fucking bullshit.
It is not only normal, it is routine.
GG DICE. I love how much it gets abused too.
haha, wish I would've known that. I've been veering away from choppers & being afraid of running into them. Definitely would've made getting flares easier. It is stupid though.
flying jets on 360 still just seem weird to me. The controls seem to oscillate between sluggish and hypersensitive, and it seems only partly related to speed. I dunno. Maybe I suck still, but the controls just seems really strange to me.
also don't know if anyone has mentioned it but flying choppers on 360 is waaaaay easier, for me anyways, when you switch the stick controls to Legacy. Isolates rolling to the left stick, and right stick is pitch and yaw, so when you are pushing the stick up/down to change pitch, you don't fly out of control when you accidentally push a little left/right
Ok, helicopter and jet pilots: I have some questions for you guys.
What is the best way to practice flying/shooting these things? I need to somehow unlock the flares, but taking down another flying vehicle with the jet seems impossible to me at the moment (which brings me to my next question)
Christmas is coming up. I'm looking for a joystick to make flying in game more enjoyable. Does anyone have any suggestions?
For the helo at least, find a partner to do the co op mission a decent amount of times with. Practice flying the chopper a LOT. its really the only way to get familiar too it. Also, have a gunner you can communicate with as much as possible. They'll be able to tell you what you need to do to help them hit targets effectively.
For MP: I prefer to do gun runs on areas, so I don't get locked on too quickly and get shot down immediately. You want to be constantly moving, cutting off line of sight of soflams and anyone trying to lock on to you. On conquest, always try to take out the other chopper first, and if possible, the enemy team's AA gun too. You won't be able to do much against the jets, though. They'll usually kick the crap out of you if you stay stationary for too long.
Also, if at all possible, use the Viper over the Havoc. The Viper is nimble, faster, much easier to use-while the havoc is a slow, unwieldy shitty chopper with no advantages over the Viper. It's SUPPOSED to have heavier armament, but in game I've just found it to be shitty.
It has fucking rocket pods.
I thought that was a general unlock, not a vehicle specific thing? I dont know. Either way I still hate the Havoc.

I don't get that statement either. Both of the attack helicopters share unlocks. All vehicles share unlocks across factions. I also dislike the Havoc, it seem to die a lot in it, while I'm able to pull off epic stunts in the Supercobra.

Hahaha wow, Attack Chopper Pilot's Guided Rockets are SOOOOOO broken.
You can tank snipe from miles away with them. Practically from the comfort of your own base if you feel the need. They need more of a downside, because right now giving up stealth for them isn't nearly enough, since the gunner can also run stealth. Maybe give them only 60% of the rockets per salvo? Or make them fire/reload more slowly? Or make them not work as well if the tank has Thermal Camo or......something?
Or how about guided rockets replace your secondary, meaning you're more powerful against ground forces, but more vulnerable against air units? That at least seems more like a proper tradeoff.
I could not agree with this more. Running a silencer is fantastic, and I think a lot of the pros directly balance the cons you mention, like higher RoF and control easily counter less damage. But just making less noise, and no muzzle flash are huge on most situations, especially if you are actually contesting the objective. The AEK silenced is cheating.
Well the pros usually outweigh the cons, especially if you like flanking, because a lot of pubs are dependent on their minimap for their situational/peripheral awareness, so you don't get five guys running or looking your way as soon as you fire a few rounds off.

Sorry about popping in and out last night folks. Dog was being a pain in the butt with having to go out and the wife then proceeded to claim the comp while I was out. Not a fun night. Anyway, hoping to try and be on tonight if anything goes on.
Its no joke how this game is more CPU intensive than GPU in multiplayer.
It played well a week ago when I had my old q6600 CPU in, but settings were all around medium. Upgrading the mobo/cpu/ram and its a different game almost, its just so smooth and maxed out on ultra. I did not upgrade video card, still an ATI 5760. I also put in my first SSD for my steam and origin drive... loads times are so silly now. Always waiting through the entire match start countdown after map changes now. Sometimes I think it beats the server swapping or something cause it sits on the black screen after the splash page for a while on the bigger maps, as if the server hasn't said "ok I'm ready".
By Team Stack I assume you mean people who know each other and participate in the same community and donate (?) to that server also want to play together?
During the Second match of Metro we actually managed to push up the escalators and take B. Then it seemed like half the other team switched to engineer and just kept a constant barrage of rockets on all the stairways.
By Team Stack I assume you mean people who know each other and participate in the same community and donate (?) to that server also want to play together?
32 people all with [PA] to the left of their name on a 64 player server by some FBI named platoon.
One of their admin's started crying about this and said we had to swap sides. I said to him at one point how stupid this idea was, because when the teams are full its impossible to swap teams anyway.

Yeah, I got in on that server for a few games. We curb stomped them. Had them pushed back to spawn in both rounds of Tehran.

I would honestly love a server that consistently put up a challenge, like a few games on that Jedi server. Pubstimping gets boring quickly.

I want to mention that it is totally possible to do it to a Tank, IFV, or AA, after a nice salvo of rockets. You need to angle it just right and hit extinguisher in a split second because you'll only have ~3 hp left.

With regard to jets running in to helos. I had an awesome moment last night on Kharg Island. An enemy jet was trying to camp the carrier. My buddy and I hop in the Viper in time to see him flying straight towards us as I am taking off. I drop the chopper and he bounces the bottom of the plane off my rotors flipping his jet right into the conning tower and leaving me at 100% health. Was great.
Having a gunner you can communicate with and who also has flares results in a chopper that wont go down. It is pretty amazing. I kind of wonder if allowing the gunner to have flares is not a little OP.
Was gonna jump in to a few games with fellow PAers but they were all full up. Also, someone sent me an invite previously that I had to disregard because of time constraints. My schedule gets nuts so I apologize to anyone who may think I am just disregarding invites.

The PA server puts up a fight if we can get it full :P
Yeah, and there are others ways of increasing challenge besides looking for a equally large bunch of similarly skilled opponents. Like trying to end games as close as possible.
I played on Grand Bazzar rush last night, first time doing that. It Eww pretty fun through the beginning, shut them down as defenders, then made some great pushes as attacker. Then the last stage started and they gave me a tank. That was hilarity, vehicle IR is so much worse than IRNV scopes.

If one team gets a 30 point lead, the teams are stacked, according to some players.

Well the round's more or less unrecoverable when one team has twice the tickets of the other.

Are we going to have games on the PA servers tonight? Fridays I can actually deal with staying up 'til 2am to play with you Yanks. Chamber is better for me ping-wise.
Every pub server has a percentage of people that are just poor players, it's the eternal reality of FPS games. The problem with PA loading up on one side is that as we're all joining at first the teams get unbalanced numbers wise, then as other people quit/join and map changes all the inevitable poor players get pushed to the other side. The good players on the other team probably get frustrated seeing a PA takeover and gradually quit out, getting replaced by more poor players. That's why servers that seem interesting at first turn into stomps after a few maps.

Passive aggressive much? I mean, we all know you rock the boxers off everyone else at everything you do, but I guess you can't appreciate how frustrating it can be.

It runs perfectly until it just freezes on a frame and the sound keeps going. Then I have to ctrl alt delete my way out of the game.

That is funny. One of the core mechanics in this game is team stacking. Why else would they let you get in a party or join on someone?

I don't think we will find this unless we make some kind of formal arrangement with a Clan or community.

The one I linked before with the nFb platoon puts up a fight, they always stack the entire team on their server.
The thing is their fight is a joke since they all zerg one cap point together while pubbies spread out and dominate them.

That's my favorite map, conquest. Rush is terrible there.
Love it on 32 rush, but holy mother of god is that map ridiculous on 64 rush. It feels nigh impossible to get past the first point.
And I think everyone collectively groans whenever they get to damavand peaks last rush points. Good lord I hate that tunnel.
