I was playing rush on Damavand and spawned in the little bird at the start of the round. Shortly after I took off, I heard a big explosion and was suddenly on fire. I realized that one of my passengers had managed to hit me from the inside with his RPG (although FF was off, you can still damage your own vehicle, which it technically was since he was a passenger). I thought he was just being dumb, so I landed and hopped out to repair. As soon as I did, he took the drivers' seat and took off. Apparently it was a ploy to steal the chopper all along.
The reason this was so aggravating though is that this guy clearly uses this exploit to get the chopper every round. Anyone could do so if they're just willing to be an ass. I could have just refused to repair the chopper and then if I lost the race to the driver's seat when it respawned, I could have rocketed him from the passenger's seat. It's a no-win situation and needs to be fixed, especially because there's no legit reason to allow self-damage from within a helicopter. (Unlike rocketing unoccupied vehicles, which can occasionally serve a legit purpose).

I was riding shotgun on the Little Bird, repairing it along the way for my pilot.
I see mans running to checkpoint 'A' and so I pull out the rocket launcher and quickly shot off a rocket which hit us instead (and killed the pilot).
The height wasn't far enough to insta-kill me since I quickly started repairing the chopper as it was falling to the ground.
I hopped in as driver, apologized over the mic to the player, and I flew the chopper straight to him...got out, and let him fly it again.
I know this story doesn't soothe your pain, but I hope it shows you that for every teamkilling jackass...there's a 'me' out there somewhere too.

Another factor in the low population issue is its finals season. I know Im going to be playing less because I have finals until December 16th. And then The Old Republic hits, but I dont know what thats going to do to my play time as Ive played a lot of BF3 even though Im in the Old Republic beta.
It doesnt become the death bringer until you get explosive rounds.
Heck even with buckshot it's a death bringer. With frag rounds it's like death bringer 2.0

Tried my hand at sniping yesterday; I'm usually a shit sniper but damn if that video posted a couple pages back didn't inspire the hell out of me. Whipped out the trusty M98b/ballistic/bipod on Canals, glanced sidelong at the carrier and hit Spot on a goof, lit up two snipers on the deck.

1. The PA servers are mostly empty now?
2. Far, far too many people abuse the USAS now.
Yeah, Skyrim happened. Most people will be back for Karkand.
I blows my mind that interest in BF3 dried up so quick here. We spent a good couple of hours last night trying to fill up the Dome before giving up. I hate to say this, but I think the really good players might have scared off a lot of the not-so-good players. Sure Skyrim happened, but these are 2 totally different kinds of games. I really hope that Karkand brings people back.
Maybe people have been travelling for the holidays; plus Steam just had a big sale, and I know the past few nights have been spent trying out new games for me.
But yeah, I kind of agree about the skill disparity. I know that team stacking is a touchy subject around here, but I think it exists. I'm not implying that it's intentional, but it's definitely there. And this is coming from someone who's played enough to have been on BOTH sides of it many times. It's simply not fun for me, no matter which side I happen to be on at the time.
I don't think people were being intentionally jerkish but the teams situation was kind of a downer. I stopped playing on PA servers because of the skill disparity. It doesn't help that the upper level gun unlocks are so godly. I just found I could enjoy myself and level up at a better and less frustrating pace on random other servers out there.

My DERPSAS is around 2.65 kills per minute, and my other commonly used weapons are around 1.80-2.20.
The outlier is the F2000, at ~2.45. Some of my handguns are over 2.20, but that's just because I don't run around with them out.

I've got BF3 coming in the mail with my new card.
Assuming all goes well I'll be ready to shoot mans a bit by friday.
Well I read somewhere that ATI Tray Tools causes BF3 to crash, and I use ATT in place of CCC because CCC BSODs my PC. Acronyms lol.
So I bought the fucking game again and tried it without ATT running and I guess maybe crashes are less numerous but not really... Still get crashes at startup/loading... Still get crashses in game (seems like driving jeeps always causes a crash?)... Still get perpetual black screens in between rounds...

I fall into the camp that thinks the USAS isn't really OP; I tend to lose out at many mid to long range engagements. It is superb for taking out a group of 2 or 3 people, but that's usually because I get the jump on them and see them first.
Close range, one on one, I'd rather have the 870.
Also, and this is really funny to me, my accuracy with the 870 is higher than about 75% of my other guns, and that's using nothing but the lolspread buckshot.
And that's about the real reason I even use that gun, to blow people off the ground cartoon style.
Every time someone flies away that far, part of my brain plays this_is_bullshiiit.mp3 and I just giggle to myself.

Interesting things about Frag rounds; they can destroy minefields. They can destroy light cover. But the Flak specialization gives you a nice bit of protection against them.

It's not PA specific, I find it simply stunning how much the overall player population has dropped since a month ago. On release I literally couldn't get into a 64 player server even though there were hundreds of them because they were all full. Right now I'm looking at battlelog and there isn't a single 64/64 server <100 ping. There will be a handful at peak hours, but it feels like 90% of players have moved on and I'm not exaggerating.
Thing is, if you don't count the terrible maps (most of them), the unlock system (pointless) and rush mode (ghost town already), the game is very very light on content.
This USAS-12 with frag round abuse must be PC thing. I only ran into someone using that set up twice on xbox. Both times they were average at best.
It's okay. Easy to adapt to. You get better effective range with the 870. It does work well for blowing up some cover, and you can blow the doors off armored jeeps with it. That's kind of fun.
Frankly, I'm kind of amazed that Origin would allow you to buy a game you already own if it doesn't allow gifting. I mean, would that allow you to play it on 2 different machines at the same time or something?
3 game modes is pretty light. Dice needs to lighten the super serious mood (could be said for the PA community as well) and give us capture the intel, paint ball mode, and a co-op mode that's actually interesting.

With the IRNV scope on you can use the USAS/frag like a noob tube as you can see the drop of the rounds. I've had many people cuss me out in chat for taking them out at long range with it.
It is really annoying when a shotgun drops you at that range.
Realism aside, there's certain encounters that you should just lose based on range. It's why getting sniped by grip/IRNV/M249's or PP2000's is so irritating.

My stats page says my #1 weapon is AT mines.
